Chapter 1

I woke up in another body ?

“Arghhhh!”

Was the chilly sound that came from the forbidden Sacred Pavilion.

A moment later, the screaming stopped, only for a sudden boom to echo and another agonizing sound that could send a shiver down anyone's spine.

The torture was endless. Within that Pavilion was a bottomless pit lined with rotating blades, where a disheveled man was chained, his voice interrupting the silence.

Every two hours, the rotating blade cut through him as if it had been timed.

Every time the blade stopped rotating and his agony ceased, he tried to drag himself out of the pit but before he could even reach the ledge, balls of fire erupted from his body.

He burned from the inside out as if his very soul wanted to explode and boom, he found himself cast back into the depths.

Then, his body began to knit itself back together through forced cultivation, mending his flesh as if nothing had happened.

Yet, the suffering was real.

With a crumpled, sweaty face, Wallace Smith wondered if this cycle would continue for eternity. He was a slave to the curse of the Conqueror Superior, an immortal god to whom he owed a staggering debt of a million Qi-souls all because of the woman he thought he would spend his life with. His wife.

Five years ago, desperate to save her from a rare blood infection, he had begged the Conqueror Superior, the god who controlled the affairs of the realms, to use his powers. But the god had refused because his wife wasn't "next in line," and others were waiting.

As a million year old powerful, desperate cultivator, Wallace stole his spirit amber capable of healing.

However, the moment the woman gradually became okay, she ran off with another powerful cultivator, leaving him heartbroken and the moment the Superior found out what he stole, he became angry and decided to punish him by sending him to the Sacred Pavilion to pay his debt in blood.

He had been told he would never leave until he harvested enough 'appeasement' to satisfy the debt. But as he lay broken at the bottom of the pit, a single thought haunted him: How could he ever pay back his ransom for what he did to an ungrateful woman when his prison was the very fire that consumed him?

He didn't know how many more years remained until the superior would let go of the grudges he held against him.

Suddenly, a force seized him, threatening to pull him back into the dungeon's blade. His heart raced. He was used to the agony, but this felt different.

Just as he braced for the cycle to repeat, a hollow, freezing wind he hadn't felt in years filled his lungs before he suddenly went stiff and a loud thud followed.

A while later, he had his eyes opened to see an old man directly opposite him.

This was the first time someone had visited him since he had been chained.

“Who… are you?”

Wallace finally asked in exhaustion.

“Do you want to leave this dungeon?” The man asked instead.

Wallace looked at the rotating blade Pavillion he was and back at the man. Should that even be a question?

“I want to!” He said in desperation.

“I'll help you leave this place. Favour has finally found you. In return, you must defeat the being that kept you stuck here!” The man said maliciously.

“The superior? He's…”

“Son, you can't negotiate that!”

“So, how do I get out of… “ Before he could complete his sentence, the man had vanished as if he had never been in the Pavillion and suddenly, a wave of fresh breeze blew across him before he passed out.

Weakness. Pain. Numbness.

That was all Wallace felt when he slowly opened his eyes to a consciousness that wasn't his.

He heard voices he couldn't decipher, smelled scents he couldn't comprehend, and felt unfamiliar inner screams.

When he looked around, he was shocked to see that he wasn't in a place that was worthy of a high realm immortal.

Instead, he found himself in the backyard of a muddy dormitory.

“Didn't we tell you to clear the filth since an important party is coming up, you dumb trash?”

He suddenly heard.

However, he looked at the unfamiliar faces in confusion.

When that silly, old man told him he would help, Wallace thought he would be back to his original position. Now, he was in a place he couldn't understand.

Just what the hell was going on?

Has he been ripped off his powers as a million year old cultivator?

Before he could think, his head became filled with jagged memories and when he tried to examine one, it disappeared, replaced by a minor headache.

Suddenly, everything became clear.

He wasn't back in his base because of the superior. If he found out that he escaped, he would hunt him and maybe destroy him completely. The only way he could stay hidden was what the old man did.

Destroy his immortal body and place his soul into a low rank Qi condensation mortal body still in a training sect.

“I asked you a question, you silly thing”

A harsh voice tore through his thoughts and just before he could act, he was met with a malicious pair of eyes and a right palm that was directly sent to his face.
