Marcus's words hit me like a punch to the gut, his cold logic was a reminder of the reality we faced.

As much as I hated to admit it, he was right. In this ruthless world, there was no room for reckless heroism. We had to rely on each other, but we also had to be smart.

I nodded, and I frowned a little when I heard his words."You're right," I admitted, my voice barely more than a whisper. "I won't make that mistake again."

He studied me for a moment before giving me a curt nod. "Good," he said, his tone was only slightly softer now. "We need each other if we're going to survive this. Just remember that."

He turned and looked at Olivia, who was peeping down the end of the ledge. "Let's go," he said, and I could see the determination in his eyes. "We've got a labyrinth to conquer."

I took a deep breath when I heard this.
