Claire paused for a moment to stare meaningfully at Jack. But she quickly controlled her feelings. She quickly sat up and pursed her lips.

"Don't tease me! If your girlfriend who is the manager of the clothing store sees us, she'll think all kinds of things." Claire's voice sounded annoyed.

Jack sat up immediately. He brought his face closer to Claire's. "Are you jealous of Audrey?"

Claire replied in a raised tone, "Why would I be jealous?!" Claire didn't understand why she couldn't keep her voice from speaking in such a tone. Come to think of it, she could have said it in a normal voice, especially since Jack was sitting nearby. Her voice could easily be heard by Jack, even if she was whispering.

"Why aren't you jealous?" Jack propped up his chin.
