The black jade token fell from the red-robed man’s hand and landed on the ground with a soft clink. Nobody moved. The battlefield had become strangely quiet.

Alexander stared at the token. The emblem was unmistakable—a black throne surrounded by nine stars. The symbol of the Celestial Court. An organization that, in his previous life, had haunted his dreams.

But something didn’t make sense. The Celestial Court shouldn’t have appeared here. Not yet.

He remembered this night. He remembered the attack on the Blackwood Family, the assassins, his father’s desperate battle, and Emily being taken away. But he did not remember the Celestial Court directly participating.

Something had changed.

Alexander slowly bent down and picked up the token. The instant his fingers touched it, a strange sensation entered his mind—a faint sword intent, ancient, cold, and familiar. His pupils contracted.

“This…”

The sword intent disappeared almost immediately. Nobody noticed except Alexander. He closed his hand around the token. Someone connected to the Celestial Court had already noticed him. That meant his reincarnation had already altered the future.

And that was dangerous. Very dangerous.

---

Alexander looked around the battlefield. The Blackwood Estate sat in the Northern Continent. To ordinary people, the Northern Continent was enormous—a journey across it could take several years. To Alexander, it was merely the lowest corner of a much larger world.

The cultivation world was divided according to strength, not by kingdoms or wealth, but by cultivation realms. Every cultivator began in the same place: the Body Tempering Realm, the foundation of all martial cultivation. A cultivator strengthened their muscles, bones, organs, blood, and physical body across nine levels. Most ordinary martial artists never reached Level Three. A Level Five cultivator could already defeat dozens of ordinary soldiers. A Level Nine cultivator was considered a master in a small city.

Above Body Tempering came the Meridian Opening Realm, where cultivators opened the spiritual channels within their bodies and began circulating spiritual energy—again across nine levels. Then came the Qi Gathering Realm, the true first step onto the path of cultivation. Spiritual energy could be gathered within the body. Techniques could be used. Weapons could be strengthened. At the peak of Qi Gathering, cultivators could perform feats ordinary humans could only dream of.

After Qi Gathering came the Spirit Foundation Realm—the realm of the red-robed man. Alexander glanced at him. A Spirit Foundation cultivator could establish a stable spiritual foundation, fly for short periods, and manipulate spiritual energy outside their bodies. Against ordinary warriors, they were monsters. Yet in the eyes of Alexander’s previous self, they were barely worth remembering.

Still, he was not arrogant enough to underestimate the realm. His current body was only a sixteen-year-old Body Tempering cultivator. A Spirit Foundation expert could kill him with a single serious attack. Knowledge was not the same as strength. Alexander understood that better than anyone. He had once been the strongest man in the Nine Heavens—and he had still died.

---

Alexander silently reviewed the full hierarchy of the Nine Mortal Realms.

Body Tempering strengthened the physical body. Meridian Opening unlocked the spiritual meridians. Qi Gathering began true spiritual cultivation. Spirit Foundation established the spiritual foundation. Spirit Core condensed spiritual energy into a powerful core. Soul Awakening awakened and strengthened the cultivator’s spiritual soul. Spirit Lord allowed deeper control over spiritual laws. Spirit King produced existences capable of dominating entire regions. And finally, the Saint Realm marked a cultivator who had stepped beyond ordinary mortals.

Each major realm was divided into Early, Middle, Late, and Peak stages. There were exceptions—certain ancient inheritances used different systems, forbidden techniques allowed fighters to punch above their realm, and some monsters possessed bloodlines powerful enough to challenge higher-level cultivators. But generally, a difference of one major realm was enormous. Two realms could mean death. Three was almost impossible to overcome.

At least, that was how ordinary cultivators understood the world. Alexander had never been ordinary.

---

The Northern Continent was only part of the Mortal World. Above the Saint Realm came the Heavenly Realms: Saint King, Great Saint, Heavenly Saint, Saint Emperor, Heavenly Emperor, Ancient Emperor, and Emperor Ancestor. Alexander remembered fighting people at these levels. He had killed them. He had also nearly been killed by them.

Beyond even those stood the Divine Realm—Divine Transformation, Divine Lord, Divine King, Divine Emperor, Ancient God, Primordial God, and finally God Ancestor. At that level, a single existence could destroy civilizations. Entire sects would kneel. Empires would submit. Millions of cultivators could die from a single battle between two God Ancestors.

But even the God Ancestors were not the final powers. Alexander knew that, because he had once reached the realm beyond them: the Origin Realm.

His gaze darkened. There were levels beyond what most cultivators even knew existed—Origin Sovereign, Origin Monarch, Origin Emperor, Origin Ancestor, then Transcendent, and finally Beyond Origin. Alexander had once stood at the threshold of Beyond Origin and believed that was the absolute peak. He had been wrong. There were things beyond that—things that existed before the current cultivation system, things that even the ancient gods feared. The existence that had manipulated his life was one of them.

Alexander looked at the black jade token again, expression growing cold. The Celestial Court was only a branch. He knew that now.

---

Strength was not the only thing that mattered. The cultivation world was controlled by different forces. At the bottom were ordinary families and martial clans. Above them stood cities, kingdoms, and empires. Then came martial sects, ancient clans, royal families, and holy lands. Above even those were the legendary Imperial Forces.

Each continent had its own powers. The Northern Continent held dozens of powerful sects, but several stood above the rest: the Azure Sky Sword Sect, the Heavenly Mountain Sect, the Golden Mountain Sect, the Celestial Alchemy Pavilion, and the mysterious Heavenly Phoenix Sect. These were not ordinary organizations. Each possessed powerful experts, controlled enormous territories, and held inheritances that had existed for thousands of years.

Then there were the ancient clans—the Silverheart Clan, the Blackwood Family, the Drake Family, the Valerian Clan, and the Stormborn Clan. Some of these families were older than entire kingdoms. Their ancestors had left behind terrifying inheritances. Their bloodlines could determine the fate of generations. And above all of them were the forces connected to the Nine Heavens.

Alexander remembered this structure clearly, because he had climbed through every layer.

---

The Mortal World was not the highest world. Above it rose nine enormous heavenly worlds, each larger and more powerful than the one below it.

First Heaven—Azure Heaven—was the weakest of the Nine, yet even here countless experts existed. Second Heaven—Crimson Heaven—was known for its powerful martial empires. Third Heaven—Golden Heaven—was dominated by ancient clans. Fourth Heaven—Thunder Heaven—was a dangerous world filled with lightning-based cultivation. Fifth Heaven—Star Heaven—housed countless celestial sects. Sixth Heaven—Divine Heaven—was a place where gods frequently appeared. Seventh Heaven—Eternal Heaven—was dominated by ancient immortals. Eighth Heaven—Primordial Heaven—was filled with ancient races and primordial beasts. And finally, Ninth Heaven—Origin Heaven—was the highest known heavenly world, the birthplace of countless legends, and the place where Alexander had once stood at the peak.

Or so he had believed.

---

Alexander slowly exhaled. Three hundred years of memories were difficult to organize, but one truth stood clear. His previous life had taught him something important: the stronger you became, the more you realized how weak you were.

When he was a young cultivator, a Spirit Foundation expert had seemed like an immortal. When he became a Saint, Emperors seemed untouchable. When he became an Emperor, Gods seemed invincible. When he became a God, the Origin Realm appeared impossible. And when he reached Origin, he discovered something even more terrifying.

The peak was always farther away.

Alexander smiled. “Interesting.”

Emily looked at him. “What?”

He looked at the black jade token. “The world is bigger than I remember.”

She frowned. “That’s what you’re thinking about after all this?”

Alexander nodded. “Yes.”

She stared at him. “You’re strange.”

“I’ve been told that.”

---

A powerful voice suddenly echoed across the estate. “BLACKWOOD FAMILY!”

The remaining assassins stepped aside as a tall man walked through the ruined gate. His clothes were decorated with silver patterns. Unlike the others, he wore no mask.

William’s expression changed. “Leonard…”

The man smiled. “William Blackwood.”

Alexander’s eyes narrowed. He recognized him. Leonard Drake—the future Patriarch of the Drake Family. In Alexander’s previous life, Leonard had become a Spirit King before dying mysteriously. Alexander had never known why. But now Leonard’s presence felt different. Alexander could sense something hidden inside him—a strange spiritual fluctuation.

Interesting.

Leonard looked toward Alexander. “So you’re the Blackwood family’s useless young master.”

Alexander raised an eyebrow. “People keep calling me that.”

Leonard laughed. “Do you know what happens to useless people in this world?”

Alexander looked at him. “They die.”

Leonard’s smile widened. “Exactly.” He drew his sword. His aura exploded.

BOOM!

The entire courtyard shook. Emily stepped backward. William immediately moved in front of her. Alexander remained where he was.

He looked at Leonard, then at his sword, then at the distance between them. A faint smile appeared. Spirit Core. Not Spirit Foundation. This man was a full major realm above the previous attacker. In his current condition, Alexander could not defeat him through brute force.

But he didn’t need to.

Alexander slowly raised the sword he had stolen. His eyes became calm. “Father.”

William looked at him.

“Stay behind me.”

Alexander smiled. “Not this time.”

William frowned. “What?”

Alexander stepped forward, the sword resting against his shoulder. “I spent one lifetime standing behind everyone.” His eyes sharpened. “This time…” He pointed the blade at Leonard. “…I’ll stand in front.”

Leonard laughed. “Then die.”

He disappeared.

Alexander’s pupils contracted. The battle between a sixteen-year-old Body Tempering cultivator and a Spirit Core expert was about to begin.

But Alexander had something Leonard didn’t.

Three hundred years of swordsmanship.

In his previous life, Emily had died protecting him. For three hundred years, he had carried the memory of her final moments. Now she was alive, warm, and smiling in his arms.“Brother, why are you hugging me so tightly?” Emily complained. “I can’t breathe!”Alexander immediately loosened his grip. “Sorry.”Emily looked up at him suspiciously. “Did something happen at the sect?”“No.”“Did someone bully you?”Alexander almost laughed. *If only they knew.* “I’m fine.”Emily puffed out her cheeks. “You’re always saying that!
