Chapter 2 : Zhao Tian's Anomaly
last update2026-04-15 17:49:59

Zhao Tian's body continued to float through the spatial channel. The devastating spatial storm continued to bombard his body. But… the spatial storm was unable to destroy Zhao Tian's small body which was already unconscious.

Every time the spatial storm was about to tear Zhao Tian's body, his body continued to release shockwaves as if driving away the spatial storm.

KRAAKK!!

While his body was still sliding in the spatial channel, a spatial tear suddenly appeared, and Zhao Tian was swallowed by that spatial tear.

Five months later…

In the Eastern Continent, the world stretched vast without limits, inhabited not only by cultivators, but also by countless mortal beings.

Kingdoms stood in various regions, each governing its territory. However, above all, a great empire controlled and sheltered them, forming a world order that was laden with power and ambition.

“Quickly, we must arrive at Sumhong Village immediately! I received a report that the village was attacked by savage robbers. If we are late, that village could be in danger!”

“Commander, we understand!”

Ten royal soldiers and three royal auxiliary warriors hurried towards Sumhong Village. That group was directly led by the commander of the royal soldiers.

“Accelerate your pace! Do not give them time to conquer the village!” his voice echoed loudly, which was greeted by a simultaneous shout from his troops.

“Ready, Commander!”

The horses ran very fast. However, when they arrived at Sumhong Village, their eyes widened, their hearts almost stopped beating because they were shocked by the scenery in front of them.

Hundreds of wooden houses that were lined up neatly, arranged in such a way to look beautiful, now disappeared. What remained was only a blaze of fire soaring up to the sky until it created black clouds.

“Bastard! We are late,” said the commander with a body trembling from anger.

“We must immediately extinguish that fire and look for the victims' bodies that are still intact,” he continued.

“Commander, the fire's temperature is too high. With our strength, we cannot approach the village. So, do you have a solution, Commander?” asked one of the soldiers.

The commander frowned. He himself could not approach Sumhong Village because it was too hot. If he alone was incapable, let alone his soldiers?

However, a commander must be able to think quickly in all situations. “Fifteen kilometers from here, I heard there is a Sect. You two immediately go to that Sect to ask for help. I hope in that Sect there is a warrior who has reached the Qi General realm!”

“Commander, let us be the ones to depart so we can arrive faster,” one of the auxiliary warriors voiced his intention.

“Alright, you all go immediately.”

The three auxiliary warriors immediately left. They did not use horses, but used a high-level body-lightening skill.

Two hours later, the three auxiliary warriors had returned. They returned with a middle-aged man wearing a white robe.

The middle-aged man cupped his hands with his body slightly bowing towards the Commander. “Greetings, Commander,” he said politely.

“Senior, sorry I interrupted your rest. I am in trouble. Can senior help?” replied the Commander while turning to Sumhong Village which was still burning.

The middle-aged man stared at the blaze of fire that danced like devil tongues ready to devour everything. “Commander, this old man will try his best.”

Without further ado, the middle-aged man immediately flew towards the blaze of fire.

Seeing the middle-aged man fly, the commander sucked in a breath of cold air. “What is his status in the Sect that you visited?”

“Reporting, he is the Sect Patriarch,” answered the auxiliary warrior who asked for help.

“No wonder, I did not expect that Sect would be led by a middle-stage Qi General warrior,” said the commander.

“Middle-stage Qi General?” All the soldiers and the three auxiliary warriors sucked in a breath of cold air. If it was true that the middle-aged man had become a middle-stage Qi General warrior, it meant his realm was higher than a governor, and approached the Commander-in-Chief's realm, a person who was only one rank below the Emperor's power.

The middle-aged man did not immediately extinguish the fire, his spiritual consciousness traced every building devoured by the fire. When his consciousness arrived at one of the buildings, the middle-aged man's eyes trembled violently in disbelief. He found a teenage boy sitting burying his head in his knees.

“How is it possible?” That utterance spontaneously came out of his mouth. The reason was, that child could not be touched by the fire, even as if the highly ferocious fire avoided his body.

The middle-aged man immediately rushed to fly to save that child.

The fire that continued to blaze moved aside as if giving a path to him.

The middle-aged man narrowed his eyes. He tried to observe the child's body. But no matter what effort he made. He was unable to see the cause of the child's uniqueness.

“Strange, this child does not have Qi at all. But why can't the fire touch him?” thought the man.

When he arrived, he immediately held the child's body.

The child raised his head, he did not have any expression, only staring at the middle-aged man blankly. “Who are you?”

“Child, come out first now. It is too dangerous here.” The middle-aged man immediately grasped the child's hand, then flew out.

After being outside, he released a power that was so cold. Even though it did not release water, strangely the huge fire immediately receded, as if pulled into the earth.

When the fire had extinguished, the middle-aged man tried to ask, “Actually, what happened here?”

“Robbers burned the entire houses and residents,” he answered briefly.

“Then, how could you survive?” asked the middle-aged man investigating.

“I do not know.”

He frowned. “Then, what is your name?”

“Zhao Tian.”

“Zhao Tian? So, your parents were also killed?”

“AAAHHH!” Instead of answering, Zhao Tian groaned in pain. He held his head, unable to answer the middle-aged man's question.

After the fire completely extinguished, the commander and all his soldiers approached the middle-aged man.

“Senior, thank you for helping,” he said.

“This is my duty, but this is truly too savage. They did not have mercy in the slightest to have the heart to do this.”

Hearing that, the commander nodded. Then he shifted his gaze towards Zhao Tian.

“Senior, how could this child survive?” asked the commander.

The middle-aged man did not answer immediately, he took out a copper bell from a treasure pouch. “He was protected by this bell. It seems this is a treasure that is resistant to fire, so this child successfully survived the disaster.”

The middle-aged man did not tell the truth, not that he did not want to, but he knew very well life in the government. Even though Zhao Tian did not have Qi, his body's anomaly would surely become a research object for the old monsters. Those bastards would definitely skin him.

The commander froze in silence, not because Zhao Tian successfully survived, but because of the copper bell and also the treasure pouch. He did not expect an insignificant Sect Patriarch to be able to own a treasure pouch.

Treasure pouches were very rare. What he knew, besides the Emperor, only the Commander-in-Chief owned a treasure pouch, even the governors did not possess that treasure.

The middle-aged man could read the thoughts of the commander and his soldiers. He hurriedly broke the ice. “Commander, this bell is very useful for the soldiers. So, it is better if the commander keeps it. As for this child, his condition is critical, his soul is damaged, and his mind is also disturbed. Perhaps because he witnessed a tragic massacre that should not be seen by a child his age. I hope the commander is willing to hand this child over to me to be treated.”

Hearing that, the commander was not offended, but rather very happy. He did not really care about Zhao Tian, plus Zhao Tian was in a bad condition. What he cared about was the copper bell that could withstand a blaze of fire.

“Senior, I am very grateful because senior is already willing to lend a hand, even giving this treasure to me. Senior's contribution will definitely be reported by me to the Emperor,” he replied.

Then he stared at Zhao Tian. “As for this child, senior's decision is very precise. However, I am a bit presumptuous to ask. Senior's Sect is under the power of the Wanxing Kingdom, but I do not recognize senior's name as the Sect leader. Is senior willing to tell your grand name?” asked the commander politely.

“Of course, this lowly name is called Ling Yun,” he answered.

They exchanged greetings a bit before Ling Yun flew carrying Zhao Tian away.

Along the way, Ling Yun channeled his spiritual energy to treat Zhao Tian's head. Every time his condition improved, Ling Yun asked again. However, every time he asked about Zhao Tian's parents, his condition would worsen again. He would hold his head again due to pain.

“Strange, this child only knows the incident of the robbers burning down Sumhong Village. But every time he is asked about his parents, his condition worsens again. If he lost his memory, that is impossible, because he can remember his own name.”

Every time asked, Zhao Tian would experience the same thing. He could not mention the names of the residents of Sumhong Village, let alone mention his parents' names. However, it was different when the child was asked his name, no matter how many times, he would answer quickly.

“It seems I must be patient. Now the point is I must bring him to the Sect.”

Seeing the spirit plants that had high value sitting on the plates, Li Wei and Li Ruyue almost cried blood. Their gazes could not leave the dishes before their eyes, as if what they saw contradicted all the understanding they had held until now. Those plants should not have been on plates, but inside an Alchemist’s furnace. Processed carefully, their temperature maintained, and handled by experienced hands, not cooked like ordinary food. The value of those plants was far higher than the one Fang Changhai wanted. The price of one could reach hundreds of gold coins. One gold coin was equal to one hundred silver coins. And the people who had gold coins were only noble children, not people who did not have a high background.“If the elders of the Alchemist division saw this, they might have vomited blood,” Li Wei thought. The image of those elders’ faces appeared briefly in his mind, then disappeared at once, replaced by the reality before him that was far more shocking.“Why were you two

  • CHAPTER 9: Treasure That Entered the Pan

Zhao Tian did not immediately take the spirit grass. He first made sure of Li Wei and Li Ruyue’s condition. Both of their bodies lay not far from the previous point of impact, their breathing was still there, although unstable. Their chests rose and fell slowly, indicating they had only fainted, not in a critical condition.“It seemed I had to wait for them to wake up. Both of them were still fast asleep,” he muttered. He lowered his head slightly, making sure there were no visible injuries that looked dangerous, although he himself did not really understand how to check someone’s condition. His hand had lifted for a moment, hesitating whether he needed to shake them or not, but in the end he chose to step back. Then he walked to take the spirit grass that Fang Changhai wanted. The plant grew not far from where the lion had been guarding earlier, standing upright with a faint aura that made it different from ordinary grass. “For the sake of grass like this, Li Wei and Li Ruyue even d

  • Chapter 8. Power Without Reason

The three of them walked along a quite vast forest. The trees towered high, blocking a part of the sunlight that tried to penetrate to the bottom of the ground. That was a special forest provided by the Sect for the disciples to train. However, those who could train in that forest, were specifically disciples who had reached the Pioneer Qi stage. Disciples who were still in the Initial Qi stage were forbidden from doing training on that mountain. That boundary was made not without reason, because the danger inside this forest could not be underestimated. Along the way, Li Wei kept cursing in his heart. “If he did not come along, I would have run using a body lightening technique,” he thought. His face still looked relaxed, but inside his heart he was slightly helpless facing this situation. Zhao Tian kept frowning staring at the backs of the two of them. The distance between them was not far, but the feeling that appeared inside him was uncomfortable. He could not hold it in anymo

  • Chapter 7: Unwanted Protection

After Zhao Tian finished eating Li Wei's cooking, the three of them went out of the house to relax. The air outside felt fresher than inside, even though the atmosphere in the residence remained calm as usual. However, just as they went out, there were three teenagers around Li Wei's age. One of the teenagers standing at the very front stared at Li Wei with full arrogance, his chin slightly raised as if he was used to looking down on others. “Li Wei, Li Ruyue. Did you forget there is a task from me today? You are instead relaxing here!” he shouted. He did not even look at Zhao Tian, his focus was aimed at Li Wei and Li Ruyue. “Fang Canghai, I was ordered by the Patriarch to come here. Now I want to ask, is it more important to obey your order, or the Patriarch's order?” replied Li Ruyue with a piercing tone, without showing the slightest sense of fear. “It seems my female dog is already good at fighting back. Did you forget who brought you to this Sect? Now quickly do what I

  • Chapter 6 : Order from the Sky

Zhao Tian did not answer Ling Yun's question. His breathing became increasingly rapid, and his vision went dark. Then he fainted. Ling Yun sighed helplessly. “It seems I was too hasty. This child's emotions are still unstable. I must be patient if I want to know the cause of his body's abnormality.” His tone of voice was quiet, but his face remained serious. He knew, a child like Zhao Tian could not be forced just out of curiosity. Ling Yun carried Zhao Tian, then let the child sleep soundly in his room. Zhao Tian's body still felt hot because of the remnants of his emotional turmoil earlier, but slowly began to calm down after being laid on the bed. “I must go immediately.” He stared at Zhao Tian who was sleeping soundly. His gaze stopped for quite a long time, as if he was weighing many things in silence. “You wait here. Later I will ask someone to accompany you while I am away.” Ling Yun then left the soundly sleeping Zhao Tian alone. The room door was closed soundlessly

  • Chapter 5 : Qi System VS Zhao Tian

“Zhao Tian, now it is your turn. Master wants to see whether you can practice the technique that master just taught,” said Ling Yun while throwing a sword made of wood. The calm morning air was slightly disturbed when the wooden sword spun in the air, cleaving the thin fog before falling straight towards Zhao Tian. Zhao Tian caught that wooden sword. He stared at it, and somehow there was a feeling of longing towards that object. A fine vibration grew inside his chest, like something he had once held, something that had once been a part of him, yet now disappeared without a trace. His fingers grasped that wooden handle a little tighter, as if afraid that feeling would also vanish if he let it go. “Tian, before you begin, try to close your eyes and try to feel the energy in your body. After that, you channel that energy towards the sword, he explained calmly. However behind that calmness hid full attention. His gaze never left Zhao Tian, observing even the smallest change whatsoeve
