Chapter 1 : Betrayal & Mystery
The magnificent palace in the Divine Realm should have looked beautiful and enchanting, amazing anyone who saw it. Especially since this was the palace belonging to the Ancient God Ruler who had led the Divine Realm for an uncounted time. However, at this moment the scenery in the palace was very horrifying. Millions of corpses were scattered in the palace courtyard. Blood from those corpses flowed and pooled, looking like a vast red lake. In front of the main palace door stood a beautiful woman wearing a white dress. That woman held a long slender sword with a sharp gaze. Behind the woman stood a handsome teenager aged around twelve years old. “Mother...?” asked the child with a heavy voice. “Zhao Tian, you wait here. Let Mother be the one to finish off that traitor!” The woman shifted her gaze to the sky. In the air appeared troops in a large number. In the very front row, a dashing middle-aged man sat on a throne that emitted a bright light. The man stared at the woman
Chapter 2 : Zhao Tian's Anomaly
Zhao Tian's body continued to float through the spatial channel. The devastating spatial storm continued to bombard his body. But… the spatial storm was unable to destroy Zhao Tian's small body which was already unconscious. Every time the spatial storm was about to tear Zhao Tian's body, his body continued to release shockwaves as if driving away the spatial storm. KRAAKK!! While his body was still sliding in the spatial channel, a spatial tear suddenly appeared, and Zhao Tian was swallowed by that spatial tear. *** Five months later… In the Eastern Continent, the world stretched vast without limits, inhabited not only by cultivators, but also by countless mortal beings. Kingdoms stood in various regions, each governing its territory. However, above all, a great empire controlled and sheltered them, forming a world order that was laden with power and ambition. “Quickly, we must arrive at Sumhong Village immediately! I received a report that the village was attacked by
Chapter 3 : Body & Memory
Ling Yun brought Zhao Tian to his Sect. Upon arriving at the Sect gate, the name of that sect was clearly displayed. “Cloud Peak Sect”. With Ling Yun's status as the Sect head, there were no guards who stopped him. They only stared at Zhao Tian who was flown by the Patriarch. After passing the gate, Zhao Tian was brought to Ling Yun's private residence. “Child, this will be your residence. I hope you feel at home here.” Zhao Tian stared at his surroundings. He stood in the courtyard of a simple house which all of its parts were made of wood. In front of the house, stretched a quite spacious courtyard, with one large tree which branches hung down almost covering the entire courtyard. The shadow of that tree covered part of the house walls, making the atmosphere feel shady and quiet. His gaze then shifted to another direction. He just realized that this house stood alone on a small hill, slightly separated from the other buildings in the sect. From here, he could see most of the a
Chapter 4 : Cultivator Levels
After Zhao Tian knew his room, he entered the room while carrying some books that Ling Yun gave. Those books looked worn out, but what made him a bit interested the most was a book written on animal skin. Zhao Tian did not rest immediately, he sat down then began to open the book from goat skin. The first thing he read was a record regarding martial arts and the levels of a warrior. He read the introductory writing of that book. [I wrote this book so that humans could practice martial arts. The goal was simple, besides being able to protect themselves from wild animals, humans could also prolong their ages. The goal of becoming a warrior was not to be able to kill, but to be able to create justice, and protect ordinary humans.] Zhao Tian continued to read. [To begin becoming a warrior, humans must be able to cultivate the body first. That is why I wrote these realm levels so that humans could learn gradually. The first is Initial Qi: humans must awaken their Qi, and begin to flow
Chapter 5 : Qi System VS Zhao Tian
“Zhao Tian, now it is your turn. Master wants to see whether you can practice the technique that master just taught,” said Ling Yun while throwing a sword made of wood. The calm morning air was slightly disturbed when the wooden sword spun in the air, cleaving the thin fog before falling straight towards Zhao Tian. Zhao Tian caught that wooden sword. He stared at it, and somehow there was a feeling of longing towards that object. A fine vibration grew inside his chest, like something he had once held, something that had once been a part of him, yet now disappeared without a trace. His fingers grasped that wooden handle a little tighter, as if afraid that feeling would also vanish if he let it go. “Tian, before you begin, try to close your eyes and try to feel the energy in your body. After that, you channel that energy towards the sword, he explained calmly. However behind that calmness hid full attention. His gaze never left Zhao Tian, observing even the smallest change whatsoeve
Chapter 6 : Order from the Sky
Zhao Tian did not answer Ling Yun's question. His breathing became increasingly rapid, and his vision went dark. Then he fainted. Ling Yun sighed helplessly. “It seems I was too hasty. This child's emotions are still unstable. I must be patient if I want to know the cause of his body's abnormality.” His tone of voice was quiet, but his face remained serious. He knew, a child like Zhao Tian could not be forced just out of curiosity. Ling Yun carried Zhao Tian, then let the child sleep soundly in his room. Zhao Tian's body still felt hot because of the remnants of his emotional turmoil earlier, but slowly began to calm down after being laid on the bed. “I must go immediately.” He stared at Zhao Tian who was sleeping soundly. His gaze stopped for quite a long time, as if he was weighing many things in silence. “You wait here. Later I will ask someone to accompany you while I am away.” Ling Yun then left the soundly sleeping Zhao Tian alone. The room door was closed soundlessly
Chapter 7: Unwanted Protection
After Zhao Tian finished eating Li Wei's cooking, the three of them went out of the house to relax. The air outside felt fresher than inside, even though the atmosphere in the residence remained calm as usual. However, just as they went out, there were three teenagers around Li Wei's age. One of the teenagers standing at the very front stared at Li Wei with full arrogance, his chin slightly raised as if he was used to looking down on others. “Li Wei, Li Ruyue. Did you forget there is a task from me today? You are instead relaxing here!” he shouted. He did not even look at Zhao Tian, his focus was aimed at Li Wei and Li Ruyue. “Fang Canghai, I was ordered by the Patriarch to come here. Now I want to ask, is it more important to obey your order, or the Patriarch's order?” replied Li Ruyue with a piercing tone, without showing the slightest sense of fear. “It seems my female dog is already good at fighting back. Did you forget who brought you to this Sect? Now quickly do what I
Chapter 8. Power Without Reason
The three of them walked along a quite vast forest. The trees towered high, blocking a part of the sunlight that tried to penetrate to the bottom of the ground. That was a special forest provided by the Sect for the disciples to train. However, those who could train in that forest, were specifically disciples who had reached the Pioneer Qi stage. Disciples who were still in the Initial Qi stage were forbidden from doing training on that mountain. That boundary was made not without reason, because the danger inside this forest could not be underestimated. Along the way, Li Wei kept cursing in his heart. “If he did not come along, I would have run using a body lightening technique,” he thought. His face still looked relaxed, but inside his heart he was slightly helpless facing this situation. Zhao Tian kept frowning staring at the backs of the two of them. The distance between them was not far, but the feeling that appeared inside him was uncomfortable. He could not hold it in anymo
CHAPTER 9: Treasure That Entered the Pan
Zhao Tian did not immediately take the spirit grass. He first made sure of Li Wei and Li Ruyue’s condition. Both of their bodies lay not far from the previous point of impact, their breathing was still there, although unstable. Their chests rose and fell slowly, indicating they had only fainted, not in a critical condition.“It seemed I had to wait for them to wake up. Both of them were still fast asleep,” he muttered. He lowered his head slightly, making sure there were no visible injuries that looked dangerous, although he himself did not really understand how to check someone’s condition. His hand had lifted for a moment, hesitating whether he needed to shake them or not, but in the end he chose to step back. Then he walked to take the spirit grass that Fang Changhai wanted. The plant grew not far from where the lion had been guarding earlier, standing upright with a faint aura that made it different from ordinary grass. “For the sake of grass like this, Li Wei and Li Ruyue even d
Chapter 10: Not Human
Seeing the spirit plants that had high value sitting on the plates, Li Wei and Li Ruyue almost cried blood. Their gazes could not leave the dishes before their eyes, as if what they saw contradicted all the understanding they had held until now. Those plants should not have been on plates, but inside an Alchemist’s furnace. Processed carefully, their temperature maintained, and handled by experienced hands, not cooked like ordinary food. The value of those plants was far higher than the one Fang Changhai wanted. The price of one could reach hundreds of gold coins. One gold coin was equal to one hundred silver coins. And the people who had gold coins were only noble children, not people who did not have a high background.“If the elders of the Alchemist division saw this, they might have vomited blood,” Li Wei thought. The image of those elders’ faces appeared briefly in his mind, then disappeared at once, replaced by the reality before him that was far more shocking.“Why were you two
