Leon groaned, pain raking throughout his body.

His eyes fluttering open, the sun rays from the open window made him shut back his eyes instinctively as he sat up.

After a while, Leon opened his eyes again, adapting to the lighting of the room.

The rain had long stopped and it was morning already. The sun had risen, and the faint bustling sound of the city reached his ears.

Looking around in the unfamiliar area, Leon's face scrunched up as he tried to know where he was.

The room was a large luxurious one. A bandage had been wrapped around his forehead and arms.

His clothes had been changed, which made Leon's frown deeper, wondering who had changed his clothes.

If he remembered correctly, his wife kicked him out right after serving him with the divorce papers.

A flicker of anger flashed in his eyes as he thought of this. But he quickly suppressed it.

Then as he was wandering around in the rain, he was hit by a speeding car.

Before he lost consciousness, he heard the driver's voice and footsteps approaching him, meaning she was the one who had brought him here.

If that was the case, where was she? Why would she leave him alone?

Could it be...

Before Leon could think about all these, a strong wave of pain hit him, and he groaned, holding his head as memories suddenly poured in.

“Farewell, Master…”

"Father!!"

"Mother!!"

"Brother... we've been... Poisoned..."

"I'll... leave... Stay face."

“Live an ordinary life…”

“When you remember… don’t blame me…”

The pain increased with each second; at the same time, a faint cracking sound echoed within him like something long sealed was breaking apart.

After a while, the pain finally subsided and Leon raised his head.

This time, his gaze was cold, calm, and collected, like he had seen all of the world.

He had remembered.

Five years ago, he stood at the peak. Allies smiled and showed respect when his name was mentioned, and enemies shivered.

Until he returned to take the inheritance of his family.

On the night of the ceremony, tragedy ensued.

He was drugged by something that made him lose his powers. His was father killed right before his eyes.

His mother died trying to help him and his sister escape.

And when they finally escaped, his sister's fiance sold them out that very night, causing them to flee again.

By then, his sister was heavily injured. Without anything else to do, she sealed his powers and memories, then handed him over to one of her subordinates, Katie's grandfather. Then she left.

The old man, knowing Leon's true identity, forced his granddaughter to marry him.

Leon sucked in a deep breath, his eyes reddening as he thought about this. His body shook heavily while his fist tightened, his fingers boring into his flesh.

A murderous aura slowly seeped out of his body, the rage in his heart intensifying with each second.

His parents were dead. And his sister's fate was unknown.

The more he thought about it, the more his body shook, and his fingers dug deeper into his flesh.

After a while, Leon finally calmed down. There was nothing rage would help him achieve at the moment.

He was no longer at his peak. His current strength was not one percent of what it used to be.

Though the seal on his powers had loosened. If he truly wanted to return to his peak, he would have to break the seal. Breaking the seal was no small matter. It had taken five years and an accident for his memory seal to break, and this one to loosen.

He knew his sister. If she sealed something, it wouldn’t be easily undone.

Even back at this peak, he wouldn't be able to easily undo whatever she sealed. Not to talk of now, when he couldn't access even a percent of his powers.

He had to look for a way to slowly break the seal. That was his only plausible option.

Besides, those who wanted his life were still on the run. He couldn't do anything rash if he truly wanted revenge. Once they knew he was still alive, they would instantly eliminate him before he would be able to do anything.

"You're awake?" A shocked feminine voice sounded as a figure walked into the room.

Leon frowned slightly and raised his head, looking at the figure.

It was a beautiful female figure dressed in formal attire.

Her features were sharp and refined, her expression distant.

Compared to Katie, she was worlds apart.

Graceful, yet aloof and radiating with confidence.

"Hi... Hi... I'm sorry about the accident," The figure said, breaking the silence, pulling Leon back to his senses.

"It's fine," Leon waved it off; he couldn't be bothered about such matters.

Camila squinted, observing Leon who had waved off the matter. She had expected him to make a fuss, but he didn't seem to mind.

Well, she wasn't going to believe that. She had seen many people act this way. They never had anything good in mind and in the end would try to use underhand tactics to demand even more.

"I was in a hurry, so once again, my apologies," She apologized again, bowing slightly.

Leon nodded slightly, feeling rather helpless about Camila's refusal to believe it was all good.

That gaze, he was too familiar with it. Well, he couldn't care less about that right now.

"As for your compensation," Camila continued, narrowing her brows into a thin line as she spoke,

"I can give you a sum of money right now, and you'll leave,"

"Or..." She said, pausing, seemingly hesitant about what she wanted to say.

"I need a husband," she paused, biting her lower lips,

"So you get married to me for two years, and I'll give you twenty million by the end of two years."

"Also, I'll give you an allowance of five hundred thousand every month." She proposed, her voice shaking a bit as she said that, seemingly shy of herself for saying that to a stranger.

Stepping out of the house, Rowan let out a slow breath and shook his head once, the air hitting his face as if to clear whatever was left behind in that place. He stood there for a moment without moving, his expression calm again, like everything that just happened had already been filed away and sealed. Then he reached into his pocket, took out his phone, and dialed a number. “Pick me up,” he said simply. “I’ll send the address.” He ended the call without waiting for a reply. Less than three minutes later, the quiet street was filled with the low hum of engines as a line of black luxury cars pulled up in perfect order, stopping neatly in front of him like a trained formation. The doors opened almost at the same time, and a man in his late forties stepped out from the front car, his posture straight, his presence steady as he walked toward Rowan. “Sir,” the man said respectfully, stopping a short distance away. “The car is ready.” Rowan didn’t respond immediately.
