Leon's brows narrowed slightly, hearing this. His lips curved up into a faint smirk as he stared at Camila.

"Don't worry, I won't intervene in your private life. We just need to be husband and wife in name, that's all," Camila added, seeing Leon silent, her heart thumping against her chest.

From all her choices, he was by far the most plausible option. So she could only hope he would agree.

"Why choose me?" Leon finally spoke, his gaze falling onto Camila's.

Camila froze, a glint flashed in her eyes as she observed Leon. She didn't think he would ask this.

She had been expecting him to either agree or disagree.

Taking a deep breath, she replied,

“Because you’re the best candidate I’ve found so far.”

“What if you’re mistaken?”

Camila's brows narrowed as she observed Leon. This man was not playing by the rules at all.

He didn't look like someone who would be easy to control. Well, that made it just better. This way, she wouldn't have to worry about the scheming of others.

"You don't have to worry about that," Camila responded after a while, her voice flat,

"Besides, I have never misjudged someone, so I doubt it,"

Leon chuckled, observing Camila, feeling speechless. This lady was rather bold.

Well, this was a good thing for him. He couldn't rush back right now and needed to stay in the City.

Marrying her would give him the best identity to remain here and do his investigations.

"Also, if you're worried about your safety, I'll arrange some bodyguards for you," Camila said again, adding to the benefits.

For some reasons, she just couldn't comprehend, she didn't want Leon to reject her.

"That won't be necessary," Leon refused, shaking his head.

"Huh?" Camila froze, not believing her ears.

"Since you've rejected my offer, then you can take this," She continued, placing a black card on the table, preparing to walk out.

"Who said I was rejecting your offer?" Leon spoke, wondering what Camila was talking about.

"What I was saying was there's no need for the bodyguard, I can protect myself,"

"Ohhh..." Camila mouthed, then gave a small nod, masking the brief flicker of relief in her eyes.

"Alright then, I'll bring the contract to you later and we'll go get the marriage certificate," she changed the subject, refusing to turn around.

"Also, you can have the card regardless," She added stepping out of the room.

Watching Camila leave, Leon shook his head and stepped out of the bed.

He had just been divorced and now he was getting married again. What an irony.

But he couldn't be too bothered about that. He still had a lot to do.

Grabbing the phone laying on the table, he dialed a number.

The number rang once and was immediately answered.

"Dark Knight!!"

Leon said slowly, memories flowed in as he remembered the past once more.

One of the reasons he had always been able to stand at the top back then was because of the organization he built.

Shadow Reapers.

The organization had no more than fifty men including Leon. But each of the men were terrifying in their own rights.

The name of the organization travelled around the world and all their enemies had always met a terrible end.

What more, Leon himself had personally selected and trained all the men, thus the level of loyalty within the organization was unshaken.

Many sought to join but were denied. As such everyone could only look up to the organization, not daring to antagonize it.

After Leon fell, he had no idea what had happened. Were his men safe, or were they swallowed by the enemies.

As such, his heart thumped heavily as he waited for an answer from the other end of the phone.

"Master...master?" A slow shaky voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Yes Dark Knight, it's me, The Void Emperor," Leon answered, stating his code name, his hands gripping the phone tightly, threatening to crush it.

No one knew this name except from the members of Shadow Reapers.

"Master...master..." The voice at the other end suddenly broke down...

"I...I never thought I would hear from you...."

"We...we all thought you were gone..." The voice sobbed, one could feel the weights of its words.

"I'm fine Dark Knight," Leon sighed, suppressing his feelings as his rage surged once more.

"Master where are you, I'll come pick you up immediately," Dark Knight said, his voice also becoming serious.

"Wait for me at the marriage Bureau in Oakdale," Leon replied, a glint flashing in his eyes.

"Understood sir," Dark Knight's excited reply came from the other end of the phone as the call was ended.

Ending the call, Leon took in a deep breath and glanced at the black card. His thoughts drift back to Dark Knight.

Dark Knight was his right-handed man and also the one who managed all the affairs of the organization.

He was only second to Leon in terms of position and strength. Where Dark Knight appeared, it was as if he was the one.

His enemies seemed to fear Dark Knight more as he was far more ruthless.

Taking in a deep breath, Leon pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind. He wanted to know the state of his organization.

Though from Dark Knight's voice, it was evident nothing much had happened, he was sure his enemies would have given them a hard time.

Well, he would take care of them once it was time. He wasn't going to let any loose ends this time.

"Sir, it's time to leave," A female voice sounded as a figure walked into the room.

Leon glanced at the lady in a uniform. This was most probably the housekeeper.

"The madame asked me to inform you," the lady added and then stepped out of the room.

Placing the phone into his pocket, Leon picked up the black card and walked out of the room.

His enemies should watch out. He was back, and this time, they would regret ever letting him live.
