The hall fell silent, everyone stared at Leon incredulously, not believing their eyes.

Allen's face burned, eyes red as he glared at Leon, wishing he could cut the latter into a thousand pieces.

Camila, though shocked, smiled lightly. She had been a bit worried Leon would cave in to her brother's threat.

But it seemed like she was thinking too much. Though a pauper, he seemed to have some backbone.

Seemed like she had accidentally picked up a gem. Well, she wanted to see how far he could go.

"Good, very good," Allen broke into laughter, pulling everyone back to their senses.

"I like you,"

"But I don't," Leon shot back.

Again, the hall fell silent, no one daring to say anything. And even Camila was shocked even more.

He was just too straightforward.

In truth, no one would like someone like Allen, but no one would dare say it to his face. Yet, her husband had done that.

"You..." Allen gritted his teeth, glaring daggers at Leon.

"You've successfully pissed me off," He forced a smile, his expression returning to normal.

"Let's see how you survive,"

"You don't have to worry about me," Leon shook his head, a sinister smile formed slowly on his face.

"Worry about your damaged liver and your deteriorating kidney, then maybe we'll have a talk when you are healthy," Leon shrugged.

With his skills, he could see Allen's situation with a glance. And knew the latter had a kidney and liver failure, probably due to his chaotic lifestyle as there were also signs of some STIs.

"What are you saying?" Camila tugged at Leon's sleeve, frowning slightly. From what she knew, there was nothing wrong with her brother.

So why would Leon suddenly say he was sick?

"You can ask him," Leon shrugged, as he couldn't care less.

Camila's expression shifted slightly, turning to Allen whose face was now crumpled up.

"Is it true?" She asked slowly, her voice carrying a hint of urgency.

"None of your business," Allen scoffed and turned to Leon.

Though he didn't know how Leon knew his secrets, he was not going to let the latter live.

He couldn't. He was a real threat.

"If you as...."

"Leon, is that the right way to treat your sister's husband?" An old voice came as the light tapping of a walking stick, followed by numerous footsteps echoed.

"Grandmother...." Allen called, turning to the figure, an old lady, most probably in her seventies, with a walking stick.

Behind her were other members of the Ashford family. Their eyes held a sense of superiority.

And when they landed on Leon, it was nothing but that of disdain.

Even higher than that of Allen's, but was far more concealed than Allen's.

"You're in the wrong Allen..." The old lady, Anna, interrupted Allen.

"Now, apologize to your brother-in-law," She instructed, her voice firm, leaving no room for any refusal.

Having no other choice, Allen bowed slightly and apologized through a clenched fist, making his words sound muffled.

"I'm sorry brother-in-law, I shouldn't have looked down on you,"

"It's fine," Leon acknowledged. He didn't have any beef with the brat, so he didn't mind.

From what he could see, Allen wasn't really bent on opposing his sister. It was just that some set of people were manipulating him.

"Leon, come on, let Grandmother see you," Anna's chuckle came as she waved at Leon, pulling him out of his thoughts.

"Come on," Camila nudged him slightly, seeing he was being hesitant.

Stepping forward, Leon walked closer to the old lady until he was about a meter away from her.

It wasn't until he got closer that he was able to have a clear look of the old lady. Though she looked old, her skin wasn't wrinkled.

Besides, there seemed to be a vitality that came from her which made Leon's frown become deeper; something was wrong.

She seemed rather healthy, but she really wasn't. Just a trigger, and everything would blow.

Thinking like this, Leon raised his brows and glanced at the other members of the family behind Anna.

Especially a man with a scar across his brows. Though he looked calm and even had a smile, there was a hint of killing intent in his eyes.

Unfortunately, before Leon, that was a child's play, so he was able to see it even though it was hidden.

"Great, great, I'm very satisfied," Anna's voice came, pulling Leon out of his thoughts.

"Remember to give me a handsome grandson soon," She laughed, still nodding.

"Also, since you've completed the requirements, I'll transfer the shares to you later," she said, this time turning to Camila.

"Thank you Grandma," Camila, whose face was red, immediately thanked her grandmother, beaming.

Leon on the other hand smirked. So that was it. She needed to get married to her inheritance. Well, that was interesting.

"Grandmother, this is a small gift from me, please accept it," Leon spoke, handing over the black wrapped gift.

"Wishing you a long life and prosperity," He added with a bow.

Though he knew that was unlikely. Her life would end the moment whatever was causing her vitality to surge abnormally.

"That's very thoughtful of you," Anna laughed, taking the gift from Leon, feeling rather satisfied.

Her rating of Leon also went up by a mile.

Leon smiled and retreated backwards, taking a glass of wine from the table.

Taking a sip, his expression changed and he instantly put it down.

He then took another glass. Yet his expression changed once again, forcing him to excuse himself to spit out the wine he sipped, as he couldn't swallow it.

The moment he returned, he saw the guests all holding a wine glass, toasting it to Anna who also had a wine glass and was about to drink it.

"Grandmother, you can't drink that," Leon instantly broke the immersion, pulling back the attention to him.

"Why can't I drink it?" Anna's expression changed slightly...

"I..."

"If you're worried about me, a small glass of wine would do nothing," She laughed, while everyone nodded, agreeing with her.

"No, that's not the case," Leon stressed, his expression darkening with each second.

"Then why?" Anna asked, seemingly rather confused.

"'Cause that drink is poisoned."
