He dropped to one knee so he could look straight at Keith.

“How do you want this to end?” he asked. “Will you make this easy, or will I have to make you do it? I am honestly itching for blood. And yours would make a good addition to my collection.”

Even though he was on the floor, Keith looked straight at Barry, without fear. Though he was out of breath, he still managed to talk in a quiet, clear voice.

“Never in a million years will I agree to your company. Not now. Not ever."

Darkness spread across Barry’s eyes, making him look dangerously serious. After that, he turned in Bella’s direction.

His turned eyes made her realize it immediately. She realized, with a rush, that she was the next target in Barry’s evil game. One of Barry’s men moved. He was much faster than she expected, so Bella couldn’t get away.

He pulled her to him by roughly gripping her throat. A sharp gasp escaped her, and her fingers scrabbled at his arm.
