Chapter 18

"This is impossible," Anthony whispered, slumped in the couch, staring at Hitler's broken body. "He trained for twelve years. He's defeated masters. Regional champions. This can't…"

"There's nothing impossible about it." Adrian's voice cut through Anthony's denial like a blade. "I also severely injured his master tonight. The Rodrigez patriarch. And I killed his son."

The words hung in the air.

This can't…""There's nothing impossible about it." Adrian's voice cut through Anthony's denial like a blade. "I also severely injured his master tonight. The Rodrigez patriarch. And I killed his son."The words hung in the air.Anthony's head snapped toward Adrian, his eyes wide with disbelief. "The patriarch? You defeated... but that's... Trevor Rodrigez is dead?""Very dead." Adrian's expression remained cold, merciless. "Would you like to join him?""No… please…" Anthony's voice rose to a panicked pitch. "I didn't know… I swear I didn't know who you were…if I had known…""You dared to provoke my sister." Adrian took another step forward. "You helped kidnap her. Helped auction her. You betrayed my aunt. Used her trust. Reported her location to Natasha for money."Anthony's mind reeled. Nothing made sense

Chapter 17Kris’s face drained of color so fast it was as if all the blood had been pulled from her at once. Her lips trembled."No… that’s not what… I can explain…""You don’t need to explain anything to me," Adrian said, his voice flat, distant, as if she were a stranger passing on the street. "Your choices are your own.""But it’s not like that!" Kris took a step toward him, panic breaking through her composure. Her hands lifted instinctively, fingers spread, as if she could reach him and make him understand. "My family forced me… I didn’t want this… there were threats and…""Stop."The single word landed like a blade.Kris froze mid-step. Her mouth remained open, her breath shallow, eyes shining with desperation she was no longer allowed to voice. Whatever she had been about to say died there, swallowed by the cold certainty in Adrian’s tone.Anthony Webb stepped forward, planting himself squarely between them. His earlier shock curdled into indignant fury, his posture stiffening

Chapter 16Adrian’s fist crashed into Liam’s face. The impact snapped Liam’s head back violently, teeth clicking together as blood burst from his mouth. Before he could even register the pain, the second punch landed.Bone cracked beneath Adrian’s knuckles. Liam screamed, or tried to, but the sound came out muffled and wet, strangled by the hand still locked around his throat. The third blow drove him sideways, his body slamming into a column before Adrian yanked him back upright. Blood sprayed across the pristine white floor, staining the marble in ugly streaks. Liam’s nose was no longer recognizable, crushed flat against his face. One cheekbone collapsed inward with a sickening crunch."Everyone in your family," Adrian said quietly, his voice steady, controlled, terrifying, punctuating each word with another brutal strike, "is trash."He released Liam without ceremony.Liam crumpled to the floor like a marionette with its strings cut, limbs folding awkwardly beneath him. Blood poured

Chapter 15Madison lay motionless on the floor, her body twisted at an unnatural angle, limbs slack as if someone had cut her strings. She did not stir. Blood slowly trickled from her nose, streaking across her upper lip before pooling against the cold white stone beneath her cheek. Her split lip had already begun to swell, turning an ugly shade of purple.Around her, rose petals and snapped orchid stems were scattered in disarray, crushed beneath shoes and smeared with blood. What had been moments ago a flawless floral arrangement now resembled a grotesque wreath encircling her unconscious form, a macabre halo marking the violence of the moment. For a heartbeat, the entire lobby went silent.Music cut off mid-note. Laughter died in throats. Conversations froze halfway through sentences. Even the clinking of glasses ceased, as if the room itself was holding its breath. Then the whispers exploded."Did you see that?""He just… hit her…""At Anthony Webb’s wedding…""Oh my God.""Who is

Chapter 14The Grand Celestial Hotel stood in the heart of downtown Greenville like a monument to excess. Thirty floors of glass and steel, with a facade that glittered under the city lights. The kind of place where a single night's stay cost more than most people made in two months.Tonight, it was lit up even more brilliantly than usual. White lights wrapped around every column. Red carpet stretched from the street to the entrance. A massive banner hung above the doors: "Congratulations Tony & Kris."Adrian's vehicle pulled up to the entrance. He stepped out first, then turned and offered his hand. Celeste took it, emerging from the car in her new outfit—the cream cashmere sweater, dark jeans, and white sneakers. Simple. Elegant. She'd showered and pulled her hair back into a ponytail. She looked young and fresh. Beautiful in a way that had nothing to do with makeup or expensive styling. In Adrian's other hand, he carried the chains — same heavy chains that had bound Celeste in that

Chapter 13Orthon stared up at Adrian with his one functioning eye, his breath coming in short, painful gasps. Blood trickled from his mouth. Every part of his body screamed in agony."Please..." he wheezed. "Please... don't kill me..."Adrian looked down at him for a long moment. Then he spoke, his voice calm and measured. "You’re going to do something for me. I could spare your life."Hope flared in Orthon's swollen face. "Yes! Yes, anything! I'll do anything!""Pick out a beautiful outfit for my sister."Orthon blinked, confused. "What?""You heard me." Adrian's eyes were cold. "You have connections. Resources. Money. Use them. Get my sister proper clothes. Something beautiful. Something appropriate and adorable.""Yes!" Orthon nodded frantically, sending fresh waves of pain through his broken body. "Yes, I can do that! I have... I have an account with every luxury boutique in the city! I can…""She likes simple things," Adrian interrupted. "Comfortable. A nice sweater. Good qualit
