Chapter 3. The power of wealth

       Beverly just ignored Liam and rolled her eyes.

The man laughed out loud, his body jerking slightly as he did. He was now Beverly's new lover, Max. 

" You don't know anything like Beverly said!" 

He scoffed, " I told you, you don't know the power of wealth, and you can't know it even after you die! In fact, I am sure your past generations has never experienced what it feels like to be wealthy, influential, prominent, and powerful! And to top it all, even your future generation will never experience what wealth feels like, cause I won't give them a chance through you!" 

"Oh, you don't know what I am capable of doing, Liam Storm! But guess what, I don't want you to know! I am rich, extremely rich and capable!" He laughed out loud again and stood up. 

He turned to his left side and took out a pack of cigar. He tore it and picked out a cigar, then lit it before inhaling it. 

Max sighed with a smile, as he felt the feel of the cigar and let it to dangle perpetually out of his mouth. 

Liam just stared at him, with his mouth agape but didn't say anything. He coughed slightly, when he also felt the smoke floating close to him, and he covered his nose immediately. 

But that was nothing to him, compare to that, his heart was in great despair, unhappiness, and distress. The only thing holding him still was the believe that Beverly won't put their relationship to an end. 

" You see, I am wealthy and affluent! I can do whatever I want to do and my family basically controls Avalon Country! As you can pin it together, I have the power of this city in my able hands! You must know Beverly is mine, and I will do anything to get her to be mine, even if it means ruining your life to nothing! You know I just can't understand how you get to be with a lady, that suits my taste. A lady that is so hot and sexy like this. Just how come?" Max demanded with a curious and impolite look. 

Liam growled but didn't react. He only felt like smashing the man's head!

" That's none of your business! You are nothing but a philander! I hate people like you! Just because you think you can do and undo, you feel like a god now?! What else do you want?! If you really need a girl, you can just go out and get one! A better one than Beverly! Why does it have to be her?!" 

He fired at the man and ruffled his hair violently, his breathing getting heavier! He still couldn't wrap his head around that. 

" Shut that trap of yours up! I am the powerful one here, and I get to talk and not you! Who the hell are you to talk back to me?! Do you have an idea on what I can do to you?!" Max threatened annoyingly and raised a corner of his lips in an overbearing manner. " You don't know my worth hun?! Beverly is mine! You don't have anything so she deserve to cheat on you with me! And because I am powerful and affluent, you can't do anything to me! With my power, I can ask any company in this city to reject your application and turn you useless the more!" 

The instant Liam heard this, he quickly sum it together and widened his eyes.....

" You mean. . ." The realization that hit him was more than a lightening bolt, and his face turned pale the more, as if all the blood on his face has been drained! 

Max just laughed and laughed again, turning a blind eye to Liam. 

Beverly smiled at her new lover and blushed more. " Oh, you are so worthy unlike some people." 

Liam's face flashed a look of grill and extreme anger! The fury in him grew more! He was more than enraged! 

" Beverly, you hear that right?! He is the reason why I have not been able to get any job in this city! He is the reason why I am like this, all because of you! He wants you Beverly!" 

" So?" Beverly looked up at him indifferently and crossed her arms over her slightly peeking chest..

" Stop it Beverly! I can't accept this! This is not fair! Not fair at all! He is........." Liam tried to argue, proving to be strong head and pertinacious. 

" Shut up!" Beverly angrily bellowed at him and took the bed lamp beside her! Swiftly, she threw it at Liam, without missing her aim! 

" Do I look like I care?! No matter what, I don't want to be with someone who is drenched in seven devotions of poverty and wretchedness! Even dripping and leaking! We are over! I mean over completely! Now, get out!" She chased him out, yelling at him at the same time too. 

Liam couldn't dodge the lamp, so it ended up hitting his face, which immediately started bleeding. 

He groaned slightly, lowering his head as he touched his face to feel the blood leaking. 

Tears were the only thing he couldn't shed, and he slowly shook his head in a pitiful manner. 

The last string he was hoping on, had now been cut. So there was nothing else for him now. 

Max carried Beverly and made her to face him. 

" Hey baby, don't bother about him, we gat this okay? You are mine and mine forever." He kissed the crown of her head gently and smiled. 

Beverly took a deep breath and smiled back at him, her face getting back it normal complexion. 

Max laughed slightly, now forgetting there was even someone behind him, watching his actions. 

Quietly, Liam turned his back amidst the Max's laughter and dragged his broken self out.

    Liam hopelessly wandered on the street with no direction or aimed place. 

He was confounded and puzzled and didn't even know where to start from. Everything was just too much for him to take. It felt like he was the only one going through all these, as it just seemed the world was revolving only around him. 

His girlfriend was gone....

No job for him..

And no hope....

" Why me? Lord, why me?" Frustrated, he cried out with gritted teeth, as he stormed his feet on the ground. 

Suddenly, a loud screeching sound echoed around the bustling street! 

Instantly, five Limousines, two Bugatti, a rolls Royce phantom, a Ferrari, and a G wagon, appeared in front of Liam all in a straight line, before he could blink his eyes. 

Liam stepped back in fright, but within a second, he scowled! 

With what just happened to him, he despised all rich and wealthy people! In fact, he doesn't want to be wealthy anymore! He hissed angrily and narrowed his eyes at the ten exotic latest models cars in front of him! 

But on the other hand, the people on the street, were greatly astonished as they had never seen something like this! It was awesome and astounding! 

It was really rare to see such cool cars together at the same time! 

Liam got more upset and chessed off! 

But before he could even do anything, the first limousine door was opened, and a long straight leg appeared.

Two seconds later, a complete body dressed in a fashionable tailor made suit, came to view!

*Gasp!" 

Liam gasped loudly but covered his mouth, upon seeing the person that just came out of the first limousine. 

" You.........."'
