Chapter 11

Meanwhile, Melvin sat with Kelsea on the table as it was their custom.

She stared at the phone contacts and noticed that it was her secretary.

"I told her to stop calling me when it's not work time." She frowned immediately, swapping left and replacing the phone with her purse after putting it on silent.

"Aren't you going to take your call?" Melvin, who watched the whole event unfold, inquired but she shook her head.

"It isn't important. Not as important as you are to me." He kissed her on her lips as they continued to chat

Suddenly, Ella walked into the place with a troubled look hovering on her face, such that Kelsea had never seen before

She rose from the chair that she was sitting on swiftly still trying as hard as she could to make things out in her head.

"What's going on here?" She inquired, staring right into her eyes and waiting for a response. Instead, she placed her hands on her knees, trying as hard as she could to catch her breath.

"It's all over the news. Our company is going off-market." She finally spat out the words from her mouth.

Kelsea froze on the spot where she was standing, her lungs snapped out of air.

"What?" Her voice was like silent whispers from a distance as they could hardly be heard.

She crashed to her seat, placing her hands on her cheeks and staring into space.

"I'm a failure." She muttered and didn't even realize when a strange tear escaped from her eyes as she was so pained.

Just then, she raised her head and brought out her cell phone from her pocket, placing a call across to her secretary immediately.

"What's this that I am hearing?" She inquired.

"Do you realize that I am the manager of the company? News is supposed to come to my table first before proceeding to public ears?" Kelsea thundered.

There was a sudden pause from the caller from the other end as she was still trying to make out her words, knowing how hot-tempered her boss could be.

"I've been working overtime ma'am and I have been trying to inform you multiple times but you always seem too busy." She replied.

Her hands were clenched with so much anger that they made a cracking sound.

"Too busy. Is that the silly excuse that you could come up with?"

The paper in her hands shrunk under her wrath.

"I'm sorry." The caller from the other end replied, already getting frustrated as she didn't know what she was going to say next.

"Now start spilling, what is going on?" She thundered.

The voice of the secretary shrunk, her heart beating hard against her chest as though it was going to burst through and he went ahead to answer her questions.

"The Marine busy group created a new product that is currently throwing us off the market." She explained.

Her face twisted with so much hate and disgust upon hearing the name of their biggest rival.

"Those fools. I should have known that it had something to do with them."

"Are you saying something, ma'am?"

The secretary could hardly make out the words that she was trying to do.

"Do whatever you have to do but make sure that you get my company standing back do you understand me?'

She fired at the secretary and finally ended the call.

Even though her words were Firm during the call, they were broken, the walls around her world gradually falling apart as she sobbed.

"My company. It's all gone." She could not even think of any possibility of getting back my company.

"It's all the fault of that fool. If I had not taken my time trying to set him straight, I could have had enough time for my company issues," she said to herself.

Her heart was crumbling almost when she felt a strange hand on her back.

She looked up almost immediately and her gaze met with that of Melvin.

"It's all gone. There is absolutely nothing  I can do now." she sobbed even harder.

"I can help." The words streamed out from his mouth

At first, she thought that he was overthinking because of her loss.

Pinching herself hard on her face, she noticed that it was true.

"But how." She could not see any possibility of it.

"Without spitting out a word from his mouth, he brought out his cell phone from his pocket and showed something on the display to her.

Seeing the display on the screen, her face brightened almost immediately.

"I just got the contract."

"I told you that I was certainly going to get it. Not when my Father is acquitted with the CEO." He lied further.

"But how is that going to help?" She inquired.

"Through this. I got the contract and I have a personal meeting with the CEO this evening.  I can ask him to help you out and you know what that means."

Her face brightened up with gratitude as she sprang up from her seat and hugged him tightly, kissing him right on the neck.

"I don't know how I would have lived without you." She added with tears in her eyes.

But he was not done with her yet as they parted away from the hug.

"But there is a condition." He finally said.

Kelsea was snapped into the realms of her thoughts as she thought about what he could want from her.

But whatever it was, she was sure that it was not going to be something that was way above her reach.

"I'm ready to do anything if you can help me out of this." She was eager.

He smiled to himself and it was not broad enough for them to see the villainess in it

"I want us to get married by the end of the month."

She thought about it for a while. Even though she hated Lucian so much, her relationship with Melvin wasn't public yet, and getting married to him was going to stir up public gossip.

But after thinking about it for a while,  there was nothing that could be compared to having back her company.

"Okay," Kelsea replied swiftly.

Hugging him once again and kissing his head

He smiled immediately.

"You are the one doing the favour and I should be appreciating you instead." He thought.

Meanwhile, Lucian had a meeting with Sydney that evening.

"I need your help." He said, taking a sip of juice.

"Anything that I can help you with sir." She replied.

Immediately she spat out the words from her mouth, he took out his phone from his pocket and placed a display of someone on his screen.

After which, he handed it over to her to examine it.

"Do you know him?" Lucian inquired, referring to the picture on the phone.

After examining it for a while, she noticed the familiarity her thoughts were knocked with the striking familiarity

"Yes, I do. He is the best hacker in the whole of the continent." She replied, handing over his cell phone back to him.

"But I am really confused sir. Why him? Did you get into any trouble with him.". She inquired.

The expression that was hanging on his face softened and he shook his head.

"No. I need him." He replied. "And I want you to get him for me. Can you do that?" He inquired staring right into her eyes and waiting for a response.

"Yes. I was planning to introduce him to you." She replied, making his face cloud with confusion.

"Huh?" He exclaimed
