Brandley could feel the weight of panic that surged through him as he made his way back home to the Morgan's mansion that evening. He tried calling back his mom and even if the phone was ringing, she wasn't answering.

Upon getting to the house, Brandley met Jacob yelling at his mother.

"You thought I wouldn't find out, right?" Jacob asked angrily.

"It's money. I have the right to spend it as I like." Stella retorted.

Jacob's eyes lit with unspoken anger as he lashed out at Stella, "Your money? I guess you've forgotten how and where I met you. You were wretched. Now you have the guts to talk back at me."

Stella couldn't hide her tears as Jacob continued to rain insults on her. "Why can't you just accept that I'm Brandley's mother? Why do you hate my son so much?" Stella asked.

"Because I'm not his father!" Jacob blurted out angrily, his words piercing deep through Stella who had always treated Alex like he was her own son.

"Not once have I treated Alex like he isn't my son. I've loved him in the same way I love Brandley." Stella said with more tears flowing down her cheeks.

"I married you to take care of my son and since it looks like your job is done, it's time you went back to slumps where I picked you from."

"You and your good for nothing son should leave the house this moment before I do something I'll regret."

Stella fell to her knees, her hands grasping desperately at Jacob's leg. Tears streamed down her cheeks, her voice choked with emotion as she begged for mercy.

"Please don't do this," she pleaded, her words a desperate plea for compassion in the face of Jacob's harsh judgment. "We're family, Jacob. Please,"

Brandley's heart ached with empathy for his mother. He couldn't bear to see her humiliated and degraded, especially because of him.

Unable to stand idly by, Brandley sank to his knees beside his mother, his own sense of guilt and remorse overwhelming him. With a heavy heart, he addressed Jacob, his voice trembling with emotion.

"Stepfather, please have mercy," Brandley implored, his words a desperate plea for forgiveness. "We're sorry."

Despite Stella's desperate pleas and Brandley's heartfelt apologies, Jacob remained unmoved, his mind made up and his heart hardened with bitterness.

With a swift kick, he freed himself from Stella's grip, his actions a cruel reminder of the power he wielded over their lives. As he delivered his final warning, a chill descended upon the room, the weight of his words hanging heavy in the air.

"If I return and find that the two of you are still here, I may end up a murderer," Jacob declared, his voice dripping with malice. "And mind you, you are not allowed to ride on any of the cars while leaving."

With those ominous words, Jacob stormed out of the living room, leaving Stella and Brandley trembling in his wake. Tears flowed freely down their cheeks as they watched him go, the harsh reality of their situation sinking in with each passing moment.

Alone and forsaken, they clung to each other, their hearts heavy with despair. They knew that they had no choice but to obey Jacob's command.

"Let's go mother," Brandley said, helping his mother back on her feet.

Stella and Brandley arrived at the hotel exhausted and drained. With weary steps, they approached the front desk, hoping to secure a room for the night and find some respite from their troubles.

However, their hopes were quickly dashed when Stella attempted to make payment with her cards, only to be met with a shocking revelation: her cards had been blocked. A wave of disbelief washed over her as she tried one card after another, each one met with the same result.

Stella's heart sank as she realized the gravity of their situation. Without access to their funds, they were left stranded and without a place to stay for the night. .

"Brandley, do you have your debit card with you?" Stella inquired, hoping Brandley could salvage the situation for the night.

"My card's blocked too, mom. That's why I was trying to reach you earlier to find out why. Now I know it was my stepfather's doing," Brandley replied with frustration evident in his voice.

"What about your shopping spree with Via?" Stella asked, concerned about the evening's plans.

"It was a total disaster, mom. Let's just forget about it and find a way to get a place to stay for the night," Brandley suggested, resigned to their current predicament.

Stella decided to count the cash that was left in her bag and luckily for them, it could pay for an hotel room in a nearby cheap hotel. They went there and lodged for the night with the hopes of sorting everything out the following day.

The next morning, Stella woke up to see a text on her phone from Morgan's Human resource manager that she's been fired and that everything that belonged to her in the name of Jacob Morgan has been taken away from her by her husband Morgan. She couldn't believe her eyes as she kept wondering why Jacob would go to such length just because she helped her son with money.

Brandley noticed the looks on Stella's eyes and asked her what was wrong.

"I've been fired and all that I have in the name of Jacob Morgan is no longer mine." Stella announced leaving Brandley perplexed as to what could have led to such treatment of his mother by Jacob.

Stella, knowing that the situation wasn't as light as she had assumed, decided to reach out to her friends whose husbands were friends of Jacob to help her but they all turned her down.

"I'm sorry Stella but I can't help you. I don't want to have problems with your husband." They all replied.

Seeing that no one was willing to help, Brandley was left with no choice but to reach out to Alex. Even if Alex had made a fool out of him the previous day at that boutique, he was the only person he could think of that could probably help his mother. Stella had treated Alex very well and had cared for him like her very own son. He thought if he told Alex that it was his mother who needed his help, he would help out.

"Hello Alex." Brandley greeted.

"Bro, Why'd you call?" Alex asked.

Brandley went ahead to narrate everything that happened at the mansion the previous day go Alex who agreed to help them out.

"Don't worry Bradley. Come with mother to the mansion tomorrow so we can have a meeting and sort out everything once and for all.

"What did he say?" Stella inquired curiously after Brandley dropped the call.

"He said he'll help us." Brandley replied. A feeling of excitement washed over Stella as she heaved a sigh of relief.

"So mom, we have a meeting to attend tomorrow." Brandley mentioned.
