“And I… will always love you…” Xavier sang along with the loud music from the speakers, eyes closed.

His singing was terrible.

The music in the bar was too loud for his liking, but for once, he didn’t care. He needed this night away from everything.

Tonight, he just wanted to drink and have fun.

Xavier raised his bottle and clinked it against Chris’. “Cheers to surviving another day in this messed-up world.”

Chris leaned closer, smirking. “So… you and Amber, huh?”

Xavier frowned. “What?”

“You two act like a couple. Always arguing, but still close. You even finish each other’s sentences these days.”

Amber scoffed. “Please. He’s like an annoying big brother.”

“Exactly,” Xavier said, pointing at her with his drink. “Thank you!”

But Chris wasn’t done. He raised a brow. “Are you sure? Because I’ve seen how she looks at you when you’re not paying attention.”

Amber suddenly choked on her drink.

“Shut up, Chris,” she said, coughing and trying to laugh it off. “You always say nonsens

Antonio froze. “What do you mean something’s happening? Speak clearly, damn it!”Caller: “They’re… they’re tearing it down. Excavators, bulldozers, cops everywhere. They say the property’s been seized. You need to come now!”The line cut.Antonio grabbed his keys and stormed out, ignoring Lisa calling after him. Tires screeched as his black SUV swerved into the busy streets. When he arrived, the scene was chaos. A crowd had gathered with their phones in the air, recording everything like it was a movie. Massive machines clawed into the warehouse walls, pulling down bricks with deafening crashes. Police vans stood at both ends of the street, blocking entry.Antonio’s heart hammered. This is mine. This is my empire. He shoved his way through the crowd. “Stop this madness!” he shouted, charging toward a man in a hard hat who looked like the supervisor. “Who gave the order? Do you know who I am?”The man barely looked at him. “Orders from the new legal owner. Papers are clean. You’ve go

  • Who is the Snitch?

Lisa sat cross-legged on the bed, scrolling furiously through her burner Instagram account, her glossy nails tapping against the cracked screen protector. She hadn’t left the house in days. The curtains were drawn, not because she liked the dimness but because she didn’t want to risk running into Rosa or any of the other women outside. “Are you seriously going to keep ignoring Rosa’s calls?” Jenna asked from the vanity mirror, where she was busy re-doing her lipstick for the third time that morning.Lisa didn’t even look up. “Why should I pick? Did she forget who introduced her to all those places she flexes in now? Ungrateful bitch. After everything I did for them.”Jenna let out a dry laugh. “Sis, she’s been calling you for two weeks. You owe her fifteen thousand dollars. That’s not exactly something people forget.”Lisa hissed. “Oh please. She offered to cover it. My card only got declined because Antonio was careless with money. That’s not my fault. I'm going to pay her when I h

  • The Art of Polite Threats

The restaurant Irene had chosen sat on the twelfth floor of an exclusive hotel overlooking the harbor. It was the kind of place where the air was scented with old money and power. “We made it just in time,” she said smoothly. “I was beginning to wonder if Amber had managed to detain you completely because your impromptu meeting took forever.”Xavier’s brow lifted a fraction. “You asked for thirty minutes, Irene. I kept to my word.”Her eyes softened, though the amusement in them didn’t quite reach their depths. “Of course you did. I suppose I should be grateful she released you at all.”He took his seat across from her, folding his napkin over his lap. “Amber stopped by unexpectedly. It was a business matter, urgent enough that it couldn’t wait.” “Yes, I’m sure it was urgent.” Irene reached for her water glass, her movements elegant, unhurried. “And yet, here you are with me now. That’s what matters, isn’t it?” “It is,” he said simply. She leaned in, lowering her voice just enou

  • A Meeting of Smiles and Daggers

Amber’s heels clicked softly against the marbled floor as she climbed up the stairs of Xavier’s home, her stride confident but unhurried. Her thoughts were already on the conversation she had come here to have, her mind rehearsing and discarding different approaches. She was halfway to the study when a voice smooth, female, and unfamiliar cut across the hallway. “You might want to slow down.”Amber turned her head and found herself looking at a woman leaning casually against the pillar, a faint smile tugging at her lips. She was immaculately put together in a fitted beige dress, understated gold jewelry, and an elegance that felt calculated. “Xavier’s in a meeting,” the woman continued, straightening. “You’ll have to wait outside. “Amber, isn’t it?” the woman asked, smiling with a kind of elegance that didn’t reach her eyes.Amber arched a brow, her gaze taking in the woman’s posture, her expensive perfume, and the air of entitlement in her tone. “And you must be the Prime Ministe

  • The Thunderous Slap

Lisa’s heels cracked against the marble driveway like gunshots, each step sharpened by the rage burning through her chest. She didn’t stop to admire the pristine facade of the private villa, the one Antonio swore was “for business retreats.” She knew exactly what kind of business he conducted here. Two of Antonio’s men stepped forward the moment she reached the entrance. “Ma'am,” one started, holding up a hand, “you can’t–” “Move.” Her voice cut sharp like glass. “Sir Antonio’s busy. And he gave us orders not to let anyone in. Especially you. We are sorry ma'am.” “I said, move!” Lisa shoved past him with a force that surprised even herself, sending his arm swinging uselessly in the air. The second guard hesitated, but one look at her eyes, blazing, unblinking, and he stepped aside. She pushed open the heavy door without knocking, and the first thing she saw was a girl. The girl was draped across the cream leather sofa in nothing but one of Antonio’s shirts, legs tucked undern

  • From Bubbles to Trouble

Lisa walked in with Rosa, Cathy, and Jess trailing behind, the four of them immediately catching the attention of the sales staff. Within minutes, a sharply dressed attendant appeared with a tray of champagne flutes, the golden bubbles catching the store lights like liquid diamonds. “Only the best for our VIP clients,” the attendant said smoothly, offering Lisa the first glass.Lisa smiled with the ease of someone used to such treatment and accepted. “Well, ladies, if you shop with me, you shop in style.”Jess muttered something under her breath but took the glass anyway. “You know,” Lisa began casually, swirling the champagne in her glass as though she were on a talk show, “I’ve been thinking… maybe it’s time to change my car.”Rosa’s head popped up from behind a rack of blouses. “Change? But Lisa, you only just got that Maserati last year.”Lisa gave a light shrug, as if Maseratis were things one could toss aside like last season’s shoes. “Exactly. It’s practically vintage by no
