Chapter 1

 REX MANSION

“ Hey you piece of trash, come here this minute” a loud voice could be heard from the sitting room and almost immediately a man ran as fast as his legs could get him to the sitting room.

“ You called for me mother” the man bowed his head and the woman who called him snorted in annoyance.

“ Do I look like your mother, you bastard! Don't you know your mother if you see her?” She shouted, but the man said nothing.

“ Silas, the son of the Marcus family would be visiting today, make sure you prepare the meals quickly before his arrival. I want everything to be ready before he comes, if not, you would be dead” the woman said and dismissed the man with a finger.

She is Mrs. Rex, the mother of Walton's wife, Lillian. She has been treating Walton like a slave in the Rex mansion, whereas, he is the husband of her daughter, Lillian.

“ Get me a glass of juice” Mrs. Rex ordered with her legs crossed as she sat on the sofa reading a newspaper.

“ On it mother” Walton replied, and Mrs. Rex stomped her feet to the ground immediately she heard David calling her mother again.

“ That bastard, he is always getting on my nerves” she muffled and continued reading her newspaper.

One hour later, Walton was already done preparing dinner with a smile on his face. Despite all the maltreatments he got from the Rex family and also from his wife, Walton never complained or talked back at them. He had always been a quiet and easy-going person who was so in love with his wife, Lilian.

He walked out of the kitchen to the sitting room to tell Mrs. Rex that he was done preparing the meal, and he would be stepping out to buy his wife a birthday gift.

“ I am done preparing dinner mother, I would like to step out to go get a gift for Lilian for her birthday” Walton said, and Mrs. Rex looked up from the newspaper she was reading with a scoff.

“ A gift for Lilian?” She asked, and Walton nodded.

“ What gift can a poor bastard like you get for my daughter? Other men would buy luxurious things for their wives, but here you're if I could guess right, you would probably get her some cheap bag or fake gold just to please her” Mrs. Rex ranted but Walton never said a word, he just stood there listening to his mother-in-law's ranting.

“ I would get going mother” he said and walked out of the house, but Mrs. Rex never stopped raining insults on him.

To Rex, getting insulted or mocked was a normal thing for him because he had been enduring it for the past two years of being a son-in-law of the Rex family.

Despite their mockery, he never looked down on himself and would do anything to please his wife, who also hated him.

Walton walked down the street of Delos to get a gold wrist chain, which he saw while going to the market to get food stuffs for the family.

“ I hope she likes it when she gets back from work” Walton muttered and continued his walk down the street.

He got to the jewelry shop and got the gold wrist chain with all his savings of three thousand dollars. It didn't matter to him as far as his wife would be happy, her happiness was his top priority.

Walton was on his way home when he sighted a black luxury car just a few minutes walk from the Rex mansion. He stopped walking to have a clearer view of who was inside the car, and it turned out to be Silas, the son of the Marcus family.

The Marcus family are the top-rated family in Delos because they are very wealthy and have many companies and factories.

Silas was kissing a lady, but it was impossible for Walton to see the lady he was kissing because the lady's back was facing Walton and he couldn't see her face.

“ Could the lady be Lilian?” Walton thought because the lady whom Silas was kissing was putting on the exact dress Lilian wore to her working place in the morning.

“ No, no. Lilian would never stoop so low” Walton shook his head and continued his walk home.

    It took about two hours more before Walton could get home because he met an old man who got into an accident and the driver who caused the accident ran away. Walton couldn't ignore the old man, so he had to rush him to the hospital for immediate treatment.

“ I am home” Walton announced as he stepped into the sitting room but met everywhere empty.

“ Where did everyone go to?” He muttered as he made his way to Lilian's room.

Ever since Walton and Lilian got married, he never shared a bed with his wife, let alone hold her hand or have sex with her. Even though they were married, it appeared to Walton that their marriage was nothing but a failure, but he was already head over heels for Lilian to divorce her and, moreover, he had no place to go, so he had to endure the bad treatment from the Rex mansion.

As he made his way to Lilian's room, he could hear voices and moans coming from a particular room, but he couldn't decipher which room such sounds were coming from.

With every step he took, his heart beat began to race three times than normal and his legs began to wobble on the ground.

When he got to Lilian's door, that was when it dawned on him that the sounds were definitely coming from Lilian's room and not any other room. He slowly held the door knob, but his hand slipped off because of how sweaty his palm had turned out of nervousness. 

Walton took in a slow deep breath and held the door knob once again before twisting it and the door flung open, and he met the greatest surprise of his life.

Silas was on top of his wife banging her mercilessly, while Lilian's legs wrapped on his slender waist moaning senselessly, both sweating profusely under the AC.

On seeing the scene, Walton's hand on the door knob slipped, and he became numb that instant. It felt like his blood was drained out of his body as he turned paled in less than a second.

 When the door opened, Lilian and Silas were shocked but when they saw who it was, they both hissed at a time and continued banging each other, changing position as if the person who entered was irrelevant.

“ Don't you have any shame, Lilian?” That was the first word that left Walton's mouth after he gained himself.

“ Why would I have any shame? Not like I am doing something wrong” she said and moaned as Silas kissed her well shaped and moderate breasts.

“ I'm your husband, for heaven's sake, Lilian. Why would you cheat on me with this bastard? After all I have done for you and your family?” Walton shouted in anger, his veins pooping out of his folded fists.

“ After what you did for my family, you said?” Lilian asked as she stood up from Silas and went to get a robe in her wardrobe to put on.

“ Can you please list what you've done for my family since we got married? Because of you, I became a laughingstock in Delos and no one wants to mingle with our family because I have a poor bastard as my husband.” Lilian retorted angrily, while Walton kept folding and unfolding his fists with tears in his eyes.

“ You're not worthy of being Lilian's husband. A well-endowed and beautiful lady like Lilian needs someone like me, not a trash like you” Silas said, adding more fuel to the flames and that was what it took to make Walton burst out in anger.

He rushed toward Silas and landed a punch on his cheeks, and Silas bled instantly from his nose and his lips bursted.

“ How dare you sleep with my wife, you bastard? Don't you have any shame?” Walton gritted his teeth as he strangled Silas' neck.

Silas almost ran exhausted when Lilian rushed to him and pushed Walton away from Silas, glaring dangerously at him.

“ I am done with this God forsaken marriage, come home tomorrow let's get a divorce” Lilian said and faced Silas with a worried expression.

“ Oh dear, are you hurt? I am sorry” she said as she pulled Silas into a hug. Silas turned to Walton, who was staring at both of them and winked at him.
