A security guard walked past that part of the school and heard someone banging on the door.

Most students don't go to that part of the building since it was an abandoned chemistry laboratory. So it sounded strange that someone was banging on the door, around that side at that time.

At first, the man was a little scared but still risked it by going closer. He wanted to know if someone was trapped inside the place.

While outside the abandoned lab, he decided to speak up.

“Who's there?"

“I was trapped in here. Please, open the door for me." Adolphus spoke breathlessly and with a hint of hope in his voice.

Finally, someone had come to get him out of the place.

“What! How did it happen? What were you even doing around here? People don't come here except some students that smoke."

"Or are you one of them?”

"I don't smoke. I was just trapped in here by someone. Please let me out.” Adolphus sounded impatient in a little loud voice.

He didn't know when he snapped at the man out of annoyance.

“Ok, I'll open it right away." The man replied to him in a little calm voice.

He didn't know what happened there but he could feel the frustration in Adolphus's voice.

The security man went closer to the door and saw it locked with a key lock. Whoever did that left with the keys so he had to break the door.

“Hold on for a minute, I need to get something to break the lock with." He said to Adolphus and went in search of anything strong enough to break the lock.

Fortunately, he saw an extinguisher and hurried back to break the door with it.

As soon as Adolphus was out of the place, he let out a deep sigh, quickly thanked the man and sped off, leaving him perplexed.

“Is he okay?" He muttered, shaking his head while wondering what must have transpired at the place.

How did Adolphus end up locked in the abandoned chemistry laboratory? It was a mystery for the security man.

Adolphus had managed to wipe some dust from his clothes but it had already left patches.

Anyone who saw him would know that something was wrong with him.

With the speed of a bolt, he hurried out of the school and hailed the first cab he saw.

He was on his way to a department store to get new clothes.

He would have gone to the hostel to change but was afraid of Donald's and Glover's questions.

Adolphus didn't have the luxury of time to answer their questions so he took another option which was to buy new clothes to change into.

Surprisingly, the people who attacked him took nothing from him.

Some money was left in his pocket to pay for the cab.

Minutes later, the cab pulled over before the closest department store and he hurried inside after paying his fare.

Adolphus got to the section that sold men's wear but before he made a selection, he gave the attendant his phone to charge for him.

He picked up some clothes and paid for them. Since his phone had booted, he was able to make a transfer after which he changed into his new clothes and was off.

Half way out of the store, he thought of something and went to the jewelry department where he got a set of diamond necklace, one for his grandma and the other one was for his mother.

After making payments, Adolphus checked the time and he was still five minutes early but would certainly get there late.

He decided to put a call across but his phone rang instead.

It was his grandmother.

“Grandma. I was about to call you now. I'm on my way now and may be running late."

“I'm held up in traffic." He lied.

“Ok. I'm waiting for you, my dear." Sandra McAllen replied in a loving voice before ending the call.

Adolphus got to ‘McAllen hotel’ ten minutes later. And on his arrival, two men dressed in black blazers walked up to him.

“Mr. Adolphus." One of them inquired and he nodded. “Yes."

“Please, come with us. Ma'am Sandra is waiting for you at the exclusive lounge.

Adolphus gave each of them a brief scrutiny before nodding.

“Alright, after you." He commented, following behind them as one of them led the way.

Seated at the exclusive lounge of McAllen hotel was a bright woman in her early seventies.

She was dressed in a very expensive purple gown, jewelries and her hair was nicely made and sparkling. For someone her age, her skin was glittering and looked quite youthful.

When her eyes met with Adolphus's, she flashed him a smile that reached the eyes.

Swiftly, she rose to her feet and began to walk up to Adolphus while he hurried to close the larger distance between them.

Sandra McAllen reached out and gave Adolphus a very tight hug, holding onto him like he was about to run away.

With a wide grin on his face, Adolphus returned the hug. “Grandma, it's nice to meet you after forever."

When they pulled out of the hug, Sandra McAllen rubbed his cheeks gently and with a doting look on her eyes, she sighed deeply.

“Come on, join me. Have you had dinner?"

Adolphus shook a few times. “No, ma. I haven't."

"Who's ‘ma’?” She blurted out, turning to Adolphus with furrowed brows.

"Don't you dare act formal around me. It's Nana or Grandma.”

"Ok, Nana.” Adolphus quickly agreed with her, grinning from ear to ear.

After they were seated on the seats, Adolphus commented. “It's really nice to know that I have a grandmother. I didn't know I was going to have such a feeling in my entire life."

“You better get used to it." Sandra replied to him, giving him a light nudge on the shoulder.

Adolphus was caught off guard by the gesture and hesitated, but Donald quickly reached out and took the bags.“Thank you so much, ma. I'm very sure that we're going to enjoy your food.”Donald was smiling hard as he glanced into the bags and saw many dishes inside. The food will serve them for the rest of the day, and the remainder will be refrigerated and preheated the next day for breakfast. Donald, who had lost his mother since his early teenage years, had so much missed the taste of meals prepared by a mother. He was so looking forward to enjoying the homemade meals on his hands.Gina smiled warmly, nodded a few times with pursed lips, and began to leave the place without looking back. Svetlana wanted to run after her mother, but Richmond held her back. “I'm always here for you, Svet. Don't let all that she said trouble you. Her friends, Hope, and Prisca could not move an inch after the unexpected slap. They just stood at a spot, sobbing and nursing their faces. They were very rude and thought everyone would take shit from them. Unfortunately, Gina was not one to cower and sob because some girls on the same age as her daughter said some horrible things to her.She was a very strong-willed woman and was doing her best to give her two daughters the best life she could afford. Unfortunately, Svetlana had sworn to be foolish, unlike her younger sister, who's a smart teenager. Gina, with bloodshot eyes, turned to face Svetlana, glaring daggers at her daughter. “You are a foolish young lady who's even ashamed of her mother. You're ashamed of who you are. And look at the kind of friends you're keeping.”Gina sucked her teeth while shaking her head in disgust. “I feel sorry for you. And if

Adolphus was enjoying the scene as well as his friends.“Mom?" She muttered and walked up to her mother before whispering."What the hell are you doing here?" “I brought you some home cooked food.
