Ursula McAllen was the wife of Nicolas McAllen. She's had her suspicions on her mother-in-law and husband.

She noticed how cheerful Sandra McAllen had become for the past few days.

Ursula and her mother-in-law were not enemies but not friends either. They stayed in their lane and only conversed when necessary.

“Find out his identity and report to me immediately." She ordered the person on the other end of the line before the call ended.

She reached out and took her glass, gulping down the remainder of her drink and took deep breaths.

Standing up afterwards, she began to walk into the house when she saw Nicolas and his mother, discussing in whispers.

Nicolas had wanted to tell his wife about the new development but had not made up his mind.

He was scared that the news would tear his family apart even though it had never been completely whole. However, he'd eventually let it out one day.

They stopped talking as soon as they saw Ursula approaching. She walked past them and without a word, she started towards the stairs and to her daughter's room.

Vicki was Adolphus's teenage step sister and Ursula's only child who's still in high school.

Being the only child of Nicolas, her mother already had the hope that her daughter would inherit everything Nicolas owned.

Now that she has suspicions of another child in the picture, she was threatened by the news.

She wasn't ready to lose anything to any so-called child of her husband that came from nowhere.

She wanted everything for herself and daughter.

With a wild kick on the door, Ursula sent it open, leaving her daughter startled.

She was on a video conversation with someone and had to quickly end it while shooting a glare at her mother.

“Mom, what the fuck did you do the for."

“Hey. Don't use that language on me again. I'm not your boyfriend." Ursula barked, glaring back at her daughter with a cold gaze.

She closed in on her and went to sit on Vicki's bed who had a questioning look on her face.

Vicki was obviously mad that her mother had to barge into her room in that manner and made her end her call with her boyfriend.

She had to quickly send an apology message to him before turning to her mother with furrowed brows.

“Mom, what's happening? Why did you have to kick my door open in that manner.” She inquired before muttering to herself.

"I should have left it locked and get some privacy.”

"Who cares about your privacy. Look, the matter at hand is more important than your privacy or that stupid call you were having with that boy.” Ursula fired back, glaring daggers at her daughter who was still oblivious of the situation at hand.

Vicki sighed deeply, tossed her phone aside and gave her mother an intense look before inquiring.

“Then tell me already. What's the matter at hand that's more important than a conversation with my friend?"

“I'm listening." Vicki added, turning her face around while scanning her girly decorated room like it was the first time she was seeing it.

Ursula sighed deeply and muttered. “Have you noticed anything different about your Dad?"

“No, I haven't noticed anything strange. Should I be worried?"

All Vicki knew was that her father provides her with everything she needs. He also showers her with a lot of love by spending some time with her.

How could she suspect him of anything?

Well, the only thing she noticed was the distance between the husband and wife.

Unlike before, her parents were now growing distant and were no longer that lovey dovey couple she used to know.

Something was wrong somewhere. However, she believed that the adults would sort things out themselves.

She can only intervene if she finds her father cheating on her mother. She believed that her mother would never cheat on her father.

“Yeah, you should be worried because you're about to lose your position to someone else." Ursula replied.

“What?" Vicki quickly sat up, her face a mixture of surprise and confusion.

“What did you just say, Mom? What position are you talking about?”

“I think your father may have reunited with his son who we didn't know about.”

"And you know what that means. He might be his heir.” Ursula added and slightly turned her face away before mumbling incoherently.

"There's no way I'll let an illegitimate child reap where he did not sow. Never.”

“Are you kidding me right now, Mom?”

"Do I look like someone who's kidding? Your grandma even met up with him in a hotel. I guess they're still contemplating on how to tell me about it.”

"No way.” Vicki jumped to her feet and began to pace her room.

It was gradually kicking in that it's possible that she's not the only child. The only heir to her father's many assets and business.

Someone else who's not related to her would be sharing it with her. In fact, the person may end up having a larger share.

Vicki would not have it and neither would her mother.

She suddenly stopped pacing and turned to her mother with a serious look on her face.

“But Mom. We can't just reach a conclusion without proper confirmation. What if your informant is wrong?"

Ursula thought about her daughter's words for a moment. It was possible that they may be wrong and are probably worried for nothing.

They need proper confirmation before reaching a conclusion and planning on their next line of action.

“You may be right, Vicki. Maybe I should wait for a proper confirmation from him."

“Yeah, Mom. Let's be very sure and not get walked up over nothing."

Just then, a call came into Ursula's phone and she excused herself a little to answer it.

Adolphus was caught off guard by the gesture and hesitated, but Donald quickly reached out and took the bags.“Thank you so much, ma. I'm very sure that we're going to enjoy your food.”Donald was smiling hard as he glanced into the bags and saw many dishes inside. The food will serve them for the rest of the day, and the remainder will be refrigerated and preheated the next day for breakfast. Donald, who had lost his mother since his early teenage years, had so much missed the taste of meals prepared by a mother. He was so looking forward to enjoying the homemade meals on his hands.Gina smiled warmly, nodded a few times with pursed lips, and began to leave the place without looking back. Svetlana wanted to run after her mother, but Richmond held her back. “I'm always here for you, Svet. Don't let all that she said trouble you. “Mom, what did you do that for?” Svetlana barked from where she stood. She was so disappointed and embarrassed as well. Her friends, Hope, and Prisca could not move an inch after the unexpected slap. They just stood at a spot, sobbing and nursing their faces. They were very rude and thought everyone would take shit from them. Unfortunately, Gina was not one to cower and sob because some girls on the same age as her daughter said some horrible things to her.She was a very strong-willed woman and was doing her best to give her two daughters the best life she could afford. Unfortunately, Svetlana had sworn to be foolish, unlike her younger sister, who's a smart teenager. Gina, with bloodshot eyes, turned to face Svetlana, glaring daggers at her daughter. “You are a foolish young lady who's even ashamed of her mother. You're ashamed of who you are. And look at the kind of friends you're keeping.”Gina sucked her teeth while shaking her head in disgust. “I feel sorry for you. And if

“Yeah, I agree with Donald.” Glover commented. “You're becoming too careless, Adolphus and your actions may cost you your education.”"And remember, we're in our final year which are very delicate times. You can't afford to be careless at this time.”"Even though we're yet to comprehend what's going on with you.”“Don't worry about me, guys. Let's just go home, I'm tired already and it's been a very long day for us.” Adolphus led the way and his friends followed but were interrupted by someone.“Wait up, guys.”Turning around to the direction of the voice, the friends saw Abigail hurrying up to them.
