Adolphus was caught off guard by the gesture and hesitated, but Donald quickly reached out and took the bags.

“Thank you so much, ma. I'm very sure that we're going to enjoy your food.”

Donald was smiling hard as he glanced into the bags and saw many dishes inside.

The food will serve them for the rest of the day, and the remainder will be refrigerated and preheated the next day for breakfast.

Donald, who had lost his mother since his early teenage years, had so much missed the taste of meals prepared by a mother.

He was so looking forward to enjoying the homemade meals on his hands.

Gina smiled warmly, nodded a few times with pursed lips, and began to leave the place without looking back.

Svetlana wanted to run after her mother, but Richmond held her back. “I'm always here for you, Svet. Don't let all that she said trouble you. As for the minion and his friends, we can already see them for what they really are.”

“Hungry people.”

Richmond gave Adolphus a cold glare before saying to Svetlana and his friends. “Come on guys, let's go and have a very nice lunch.”

Adolphus and his friends ignored them. However, there were mixed feelings amongst the other students.

Some were giving Svetlana a judgmental look while others who were done with the drama began to leave.

Before she joined Richmond, who had left for his car, she walked up to Hope and Prisca to apologize, but they didn't let her.

“Whatever you intend to say to us, swallow it. We don't want to hear it.” Prisca said, raising a hand up.

She glanced around the place before saying to Hope. “Come on, hope, let's get out of here. It's obvious that Svetlana is not really our friend. She's lost our friendship.”

The girls began to leave the lecture hall while Svetlana called out to them. “But we've been friends since the first year. You can't just end our friendship just like that.”

“It already ended when your rogue mother almost blinded our eyes with the slap she gave us.” Hope replied back to her in a raised voice while they continued walking away.

With every other student out of the hall, Svetlana was only left with Adolphus and his friends.

They were just glaring at each other.

After one last dirty look from her, Svetlana rolled her eyes at them and muttered to their hearing. “Hungry people. Go ahead and enjoy the food I rejected.”

“All you'll ever get in your lives are things that have been rejected by other people.”

With that, Svetlana turned around to walk away while the boys began to laugh at her.

She was so pissed that she wanted to go back and give Adolphus and his friends a dirty slap. However, she had to pull herself together and went to meet up with Richmond in the car.

Inside Richmond's BMW, the silence was deafening as Svetlana thought about the earlier incident.

She was so pissed and could not comprehend why her mother suddenly showed up at her school.

In the past, Gina had always wanted to visit Svetlana in school. However, whenever she brings up the topic, Svetlana always shunned her.

She didn't want her mother to visit her school for any reason.

But what prompted her to suddenly show up without prior notice.

“I think this is the undoing of Adolphus. I'm sure he's the one behind my mother's sudden appearance at our school.”

“He wanted to humiliate me, and I must confess that he succeeded. It's certainly the handiwork of Adolphus.” Svetlana commented as she began to tap on her seat restlessly.

She looked so frustrated and was wondering what the other students would be thinking.

Many students would see her as an ungrateful and unfilial daughter.

Now they'd know that she was not a rich girl as many perceived her to be.

As they speak, she may be the object of gossip amongst the students.

Turning to Richmond, she held him by the arm and said. “We have to act immediately. Let's do something about Adolphus before he ruins our lives in this school.”

“What?” Richmond muttered, and with a dark face, he glared at Svetlana like she said something she shouldn't.

And truly, Svetlana just said something that sounded insane to Richmond.

“Are you for real?” He added, but Svetlana only gave him a questioning look.

“I'm just being realistic here. Adolphus seemed to be the one with the upper hand here. He challenged you at your party last night and almost ruined it.”

“Now, he brought my mother to school to humiliate me.”

Svetlana shook her head many times while still standing her ground.

“I think there's something we don't know about Adolphus.”

“Something like what exactly.” Richmond saw himself raising his voice at Svetlana, his cold eyes fixed on her.

He turned to cast his friends a brief look before returning his gaze back to Svetlana.

“Are you trying to tell me that Adolphus is now more powerful than I am? What if your mother just decided to show up unannounced?”

“No. I don't think it's a coincidence. Someone wanted her there at that time and I'm sure it's Adolphus.”

“I saw the look on his face when my mother showed up. He was smiling like someone whose plans had succeeded.”

“That's enough, Svetlana.” Richmond spoke in a low growl, leaving her shaken.

She swallowed hard and decided to remain silent. Richmond has been provoked by the words she kept repeating.

“Stop calling that name like he's one important person who can really do anything. He's just a minion.” Richmond snorted coldly before letting out a deep sigh.

He reached for Svetlana's right cheek and held it with his left hand while looking into her eyes. He forced out a smile at her, but she didn't return the smile.

“Don't think too much about the earlier incident. I always got your back, remember that.”

“And stop repeatedly calling that minion's name before me. It makes me sick.”
