With his mouth ajar, Mr. Lesley gaped at Adolphus, wondering what had gotten into him.
He was so popular in the school that even the professors know him as the poorest student. The one who's always the last to pay his fees.
The one who runs errands for most of the students, including the professors.
Although he was brilliant and dashingly handsome, no one noticed any of that. All they saw was his penury.
After a long pause, Mr. Lesley snapped out of his shock and said in a very low and calm voice. “Are you sure that you're not high on drugs?"
“How dare you come to my office and spew rubbish after assaulting the son of a very important person and the president of this school. You have no idea what you're in for."
“I want to hurry back to class, Sir. Let's get this over and done with. Write down your details on this piece of paper." Adolphus said immediately, passing a plain paper to him with a very serious expression.
“All I need you to do for now is to call the police and arrest Richmond and his clique for framing and illegally arresting me last night.”
"I want him to feel shame and embarrassment and you'll be duly compensated for it. And as for what happened earlier, your superior must not hear of it because you might surprisingly take the fall.”
While Adolphus spoke with so much confidence and audacity, Mr. Lesley could not help but laugh.
Everything was sounding really funny to him but also serious at the same time.
Adolphus does not look like he was bluffing. But what's going on?
Where did he buy his confidence from?
“Sir, I know that you're a very busy person so just save both of our time. I want to go back to class and join my classmates." Adolphus added, sounding a little impatient.
His deep blue eyes glinted as he saw the shocking look on the man's face.
That's how he'd keep shocking them and leave them wondering what was going on.
After much pondering in his heart, Mr. Lesley wrote down his details while muttering some words.
“If it turns out that you're trying to make a fool of me, I'll make sure you're expelled and make your life more miserable than it already is."
Adolphus didn't say a word. All he did was take the paper and send a sum of hundred thousand dollars to the man.
Before he left their apartment that morning, he had tried a little experiment by sending some of the money into the account he had been using.
He had only a few hundred dollars in it and transferred ten thousand dollars of which he received the notification immediately.
Now seated before the head of their department, he quickly transferred a hundred thousand dollars to him.
As soon as the notification came in and he confirmed it with his bank, Mr. Wesley's dark face quickly brightened and he began to smile sheepishly at Adolphus.
Because he was a greedy person and a money lover, he didn't care to find out if the money was clean or dirty.
As long as it had gotten into his account, there was no way he'd let it be taken away from him.
“Mr. Adolphus Stephenson, you got yourself a deal. I promise to make him pay for what he did to you.” The man said while still smiling like he was high on drugs.
“Good, now get to work. I want him attested before many students. His ego has to be crushed or you'll be in my bad books. And believe me, you have no idea what I'm now capable of."
Adolphus flashed a wicked smile at the man, stood up and began to leave his office.
"You don't have to say it twice. Richmond is going to be humiliated before everyone, I promise.” Mr. Lesley replied back to his retreating back but Adolphus didn't stop.
When he left the office, Mr. Lesley quickly took his phone and began to look at the money alert, smiling to himself.
Just like that, he was a hundred thousand dollars richer. His salary of two months was what he got in a day.
What a miracle. All he had to do was to punish a spoiled brat for a crime he actually committed.
To hell with the relationship with Julian Wright, Richmond's father. Moreover, their so-called relationship had never brought that amount to him.
For a man who claimed to be extremely rich, he was rather too stingy.
Richmond and his father will be fine. For now, he was not going to throw away that amount of money.

At the lecture hall, Adolphus had just arrived at the place and went to sit with his friends.
From their gazes, he could tell how anxious and curious they were.
They wanted to know what transpired at the head of the department's office.
While every other student gaped at Adolphus and gossiped amongst themselves, Donald and Glover probed him to spill the tea.
“What happened? We actually thought you were going to be expelled. Richmond and the others have been bragging about being responsible for your expulsion."
“In fact, he even threatened us to stay away from you or we'll be the next target. What's actually going on?" Donald inquired seriously while Glover nodded in agreement.
Adolphus laughed hard and was about to give a response but was interrupted.
"Hey, minion. What do you think you're doing here? I'll advise you to pack your trash now and start leaving this school because you'll certainly be expelled.” The voice belonged to Richmond.
"Yeah, it'll be better for you to leave and become a full time cleaner. Don't worry, I'll talk to Pius and his parents on your behalf.”
"I heard that you and your wretched mother have been sacked.” Svetlana added with an evil grin on her face.
"Leave him alone, you spoiled brat. Why don't you pick on someone in your league." A bold and daring voice called Richmond out.

Adolphus stood still, gaping at Abigail with a confused look on his face. He wanted her to continue walking, but she stopped when the phone rang. “Aren't you going to answer the call?” She called out, but Adolphus didn't budge. He let the phone continue ringing, and it eventually stopped. Adolphus had this strange feeling about the caller's identity. He felt that it was his father on the line, and there was no way he'd answer the call before Abigail. The phone began to ring again, and he gradually brought it out, making sure that Abigail didn't see the screen. “Excuse me, I need to take this.” He muttered, scurrying away and finally standing out of earshot. He'd seen that it was his father on the line, and he wouldn't want to decline the call. Nicolas McAllen was a very busy person, so taking some time out of his busy schedule to call Adolphus means that he truly cared about his son.He even had to hurry to the hospital late at night when he heard the unfortunate news of Adolphu

“Don't worry about your family. They'll eventually come around.” Adolphus dismissed her fears like they were nothing. They meant nothing to him because he was now beyond their reach. The Grahams could only get him when he acted carelessly like the previous night a truck almost ran him over.Adolphus was still convinced that it was not an accident. Abigail gave him that ‘are you being serious’ kind of look. She knew her parents more than him, and there's no way they'll accept Adolphus unless he was from a rich family. And from what she had learned about Adolphus, he didn't have any other family except his mother. Abigail has not seen any man in their lives, and in the little time she interacted with Doris Stephenson, she never said anything about Adolphus's father. She always avoided answering any question that related to the topic about Adolphus's father.Doris was an orphan, but Adolphus wasn't, and his father was still alive. With those thoughts in her mind, Abigail decided to

“It's just a matter of time before the person shows himself, so being anonymous doesn't make someone a ghost.” The students went on and on in disagreement with Richmond that he had to furiously leave the place. It was all Adolphus's fault who brought the matter up. He had intentionally done that to make Richmond feel embarrassed, and he succeeded. After Richmond and his friends left the place, everyone dispersed. However, Adolphus went to get his injury treated before going back to class. Abigail was yet to find out what transpired in the accounting department because of her.She didn't know that Pius and Adolphus fought because of her. After classes, Adolphus went to wait for Abigail while his friends and their girlfriends went to have lunch together. Everyone wouldn't stop talking about the earlier incident. He waited for her by the lobby, and when she finally showed up before him, he handed the box to her, smiling. “You forgot this last time.”Before Abigail's eyes met his hand

“Now, you're bleeding.” Glover added, taking out a handkerchief from his pocket and pressing it onto Adolphus's forehead where the blood was coming out from. They stood meters away from the other students who were gossiping about the earlier incident. Some were in support of Pius and were throwing abuses at Adolphus. Only a few people didn't take sides. “Do you want to kill him? He was only looking out for his sister and did what every brother would do?” One person called out, pointing at Adolphus, who ignored them.“I would have done the same thing if my sister was in a relationship with someone like him. I'm quite sure he'd also want his own sister to end up with someone better than him.” Another person added. While they blamed and cursed at Adolphus, Pius charged at him, but surprisingly, Drake held onto him. Drake stopped his friend from fighting Adolphus, whispering to him.“You shouldn't bring yourself so low as to fight with someone like him. There are better ways to do tha

Stunned to hear what his friends have just spoken, Adolphus gave them a very serious look and stated as a matter of fact. “I don't think I can stay away from her any longer, no matter the opposition we face. In fact, Abigail is the one I want to build my life with, and I'm sure her family would have no choice but to deal with that.”Being a different person, Adolphus was sure that nothing would be able to stop his relationship with Abigail. Her family was just ranting. It's only a matter of time before they succumb and give in.In fact, they'd do everything possible to be on his good side.“Wow! That was really fast. You guys just started dating, and you're already sure about her.” Donald commented, sharing a glance with Glover. It was Adolphus's confidence for them. The naive Adolphus they knew was changing every day. The friends believed it was good to have confidence, but too much of it was bad.At that moment, Adolphus was displaying over confidence. “You said it yourself, Abi

However, I have this feeling that someone planned it to look like an accident.”Adolphus has the feeling that Ursula McAllen was the suspect.
