Chapter 5

Charlie passed day after day, even though he had been away with his mother for half his life. But he still lives for himself, at least he can realize his mother's dream of wanting Charlie to be successful and have power so that no one will underestimate him anymore.

It has been almost two months since Monica died, and now Charlie is much more able to accept his mother's departure. However, sometimes he still feels sad when he remembers that his mother has left him.

As usual, before leaving for campus. Charlie stood in front of the mirror, to see her face. This time his face was almost clean from bruises because, in the last few days, he had not seen Dion and his friends. Charlie just prays, hopefully today he can also be free and not have anything to do with Dion and his friends.

"If miracles do exist, I feel like I want to be someone who has power. So that they all stop belittling and bothering me," said Charlie laughing lightly, because he had said something ridiculous.

"Huh... I don't think I can ever get any kind of miracle." After saying that, Charlie immediately left for campus. He didn't forget to lock the door of the house.

Charlie walked down the street and came to a small alley. Charlie usually walks that road, but this time there was something unusual, which made Charlie stop in his tracks. The two brown eyes behind the cracked glasses stared at the three people in front of him, afraid. Maybe that's what Charlie felt.

"How are you, little bastard? It's been a long time since we saw each other," said one of them accompanied by booming laughter.

Charlie stepped back slowly, swallowing his saliva as he said, "Kezia, Kevin, Jessica. Why are you here, what's wrong?"

Charlie still thinks positively about them, but how can he?

The three of them approached Charlie who was still silent in his place, Kevin's hand was around Charlie's neck, so he answered, "Don't be afraid, we just want to take you somewhere. Come on!"

Kevin pulled Charlie roughly, even if Charlie rebelled, he wouldn't be able to. Charlie was still weak in their eyes.

"Let go, where are you taking me!" Charlie shouted holding himself back when he was told to get into the car.

"Don't ask too many questions, can you? You're noisy!" Jessica jerked and pushed Charlie into the car roughly.

The car Charlie was riding in was now going somewhere, while Charlie just remained silent and resigned. Rebelling was useless, in the end, he would lose.

A few minutes later, the car stopped in a quiet warehouse quite far from Charlie's house.

"Come on out! Hurry!" Kezia jerked, pushing Charlie out of the car. Then Kevin immediately dragged Charlie into the warehouse.

It turned out that Dion and Jack were already in the warehouse, who were smoking casually. Charlie was increasingly frightened, he was weak, unable to fight, and short-sighted. It's all true, Charlie is a loser in their eyes.

"Why did you bring me here?" Charlie asked.

Dion threw away his cigarette, his gaze still fixed on Charlie. He gave a sly smile, and his feet slowly moved closer towards Charlie.

"This time I won't mince words anymore, I've had enough of you. You're nothing more than trash! You're nosy!" Dion cursed, ending with a light laugh.

"Beat him!" Jack and Kevin of course did it with pleasure, they both started beating Charlie mercilessly. Not only them but Jessica and Kezia also participated.

"Please, stop!" Charlie kept pleading, but no one heard him. Charlie didn't even know what made Dion and his friends like hurting him so much, in fact, Charlie never caused them any trouble.

Charlie's cheek was punched, his lips were torn and even his forehead was bleeding from hitting the wall. Weak? Charlie is weak, he doesn't even know how to fight.

"Stop it! I don't want him to die in your hands," said Dion who suddenly stopped his friends' activities.

Kevin frowned and said, "Why? Even if he dies, no one will care, right?"

Dion didn't answer, he stepped over to Charlie who was lying helpless on the dirty floor. He smiled slyly, then stretched out his hand.

"I feel sorry for you, come on, let me help you up," said Dion.

Charlie, who was already helpless, could still smile sincerely. He slowly raised his hand, to receive Dion's help. It could be that Dion suddenly changed for the better, right?

Bugh...

"Cough! Argh" Charlie's moans echoed in the room, it turned out he was wrong. Dion didn't even have the slightest intention to prepare well.

Instead of helping Charlie, Dion stepped on Charlie's chest innocently. "You idiot! Do you think I'll be nice to you? Don't dream!" he said laughing loudly, as if happy to see Charlie suffering.

Charlie coughed several times, he even vomited quite a lot of blood. His chest felt tight and painful, he couldn't even speak.

"Dion, stop. He's almost dead, we could be in trouble if he dies here," said Kezia, pulling Dion to stop.

Dion was still looking at Charlie with a sharp gaze, although he was silent, he finally agreed to Kezia's words. He and his friends chose to leave there after successfully rendering Charlie helpless.

"Bye, silly! If you're dead, let me know," said Jessica as she walked away from the warehouse.

At least Charlie can now breathe a sigh of relief. , even though his whole body hurts. His body was covered in blood, but Charlie could still breathe.

"Mom, can I go with you," said Charlie, who was desperate, he closed his eyes for a moment feeling the pain in his body.

After a few minutes of silence, Charlie decided to leave there. All that was on his mind now was his mother's grave, he always went there if there was a problem. It's still his mother who can make him feel better.

Charlie slowly got up, even though he had to fall many times. His legs trembled as if they couldn't support his body, but Charlie didn't give up. He continued to walk out of the same place, walking down the fairly quiet street. It didn't matter that his face was covered in wounds, even his clothes were messy.

Charlie walked on the sidewalk, with a blank look. His consciousness seemed to want to disappear, but he held it in as hard as he could. He didn't want to pass out in the middle of the road.

"Mom!" While walking on the bridge, Charlie sees his mother's reflection in the middle of the sea. He ran to the bridge barrier.

"Mom, I miss you. I want to come with you," said Charlie, who was already confused, whether he realized it or not when he said that.

Charlie saw his mother spread her arms as if she wanted to hug him. He smiled, and then slowly he climbed onto the bridge barrier. Don't know if Charlie realized it or not, but it was the wrong thing.

"My life is over," Charlie muttered, smiling faintly before he decided to let go of his grip and jump into the sea. Suicide?

"Stop! Don't do that!" A middle-aged man who had just gotten out of the car shouted.

The scream succeeded in awakening Charlie, he gave up his intention to jump in. But his position was still the same, sitting on the road divider. Charlie could jump from there at any time.

"Who are you?" Charlie asked weakly, his consciousness was almost taken away.

The middle-aged man approached Charlie, his eyes looked teary looking at Charlie with a sad look. "I'm your father," he said sincerely.

Charlie was silent for a moment, his eyes staring at the vast pool of seawater. Not long after, he laughed lightly, then said, "My father is already dead."

"Yes, my father is dead. My mother is also dead, and I have no one in this world. But after this, I won't be alone." Charlie smiled sadly, then said again, "Because I will follow them and die with them."

The middle-aged man was surprised to hear Charlie's words, especially since Charlie's body was already unbalanced. Charlie loses consciousness!

"No, Charlie!"

Will all of Charlie's suffering end on that bridge?
