Kalix's intention was very clear, he criticized Mason for raising another man's child while neglecting his own. In anger, Mason slammed the table and pointed at Kalix, scolding, "You! Watch your words!"

"Can't I mock your wife, but you can mock my mother?!" Kalix raised his voice, further infuriating Mason.

At that moment, the ordered food arrived, and the waiter served it one by one. The arrival of the waiter disrupted their heated argument. Kalix politely thanked the waiter and began eating, displaying better manners than most.

Mason discreetly observed Kalix but lost interest in getting angry after the interruption. However, he remained frustrated as he saw Kalix calmly enjoy his meal, despite the unpleasant atmosphere between them.

"Leave this town," Mason declared in the middle of his meal.

Kalix, indifferent to Mason's displeasure, only wanted a free meal. After all, he had already spent his money on breakfast and bus fare.

He briefly put down his spoon, looked at Mason, and replied, "I can't. I've promised to graduate from the best university and make my mother proud, unlike someone who makes promises but never keeps them."

Mason sighed, having lost his appetite from the beginning and even more so now, facing Kalix. "Say what you want to leave this town and not bother me."

"Do you not understand human language? I can't leave until I graduate from the university at least," Kalix continued eating, paying no attention to Mason, who had stopped eating.

"But I can distance myself from you if you meet one condition of mine," Kalix said, completely unthreateningly, as if he were speaking casually.

"What is it?" Mason asked.

"It's simple. Give me 10 million."

Upon hearing this, Mason displayed a shocked expression and felt annoyed. 10 million was a significant amount of money!

As Mason was about to unleash his anger, Kalix's voice resurfaced.

"10 million shouldn't be a big deal for you, right? I heard your wife is a CEO of a major company, and you've had a long-standing political career."

Mason sighed, nearly spitting out and hitting the abandoned child in front of him. "Even if 10 million means nothing to me, it's not worth it for you!"

"Is that so?" Kalix raised his eyebrows, gazing at Mason seriously, then threatened, "You know, blood is thicker than water, right?"

"So what? What does that have to do with money?"

"Well, if your blood flows in me, how can your ambitions and determination not be in my bones? Isn't that right, Dad?"

Kalix didn't hide his sarcasm, openly making Mason angry. This alone proved that Kalix didn't regard him at all.

Mason snorted, glared at Kalix with disgust, and turned his face away. "Don't think I'll give you that much money, not even a single cent of mine is worth it for you!"

There was no response from Kalix other than the sound of metal spoon colliding with ceramic plate. Kalix silently enjoyed his meal. He knew it wouldn't be easy to get money from the stingy and miserly Mason.

Just like in his previous life, Mason didn't want to spend money on him, even when Kalix begged for his mother's medical expenses. After a series of past events, Kalix didn't want to ask anymore, he only wanted to force the issue.

After a moment of silence and with Mason's anger reaching its peak, Kalix calmly put down his spoon. He had eaten enough, and it was time to complete the mission with one swift step.

Taking out his phone, Kalix sent a message to Mason's number.

"Take your time to think about it. 20 million or a lifetime's reputation."

Kalix stood up and left the room, allowing Mason to open the message and play the recorded conversation between them.

The sound of a table crashing and Mason's furious roars echoed. Kalox grinned broadly and took his steps away. He spoke to the system, "Can my bank account receive 10 million?"

"You're very confident you'll get that money!" The system had updated the bank account in Kalix's name, allowing it to receive any amount.

Just as Kalix stepped out of the restaurant, a man hurriedly approached him. He handed something to Kalix and said, "This is a gift from Taun Dominic."

The man was Mason's personal assistant and left after saying so.

Kalix looked at the 'gift,' a bank card. His smile widened. Even if it was called a gift and downplayed, the presence of this bank card showed the extent of Kalix's earlier threat.

Kalix successfully secured a card containing 10 million from Mason, even though they had to exchange harsh words several times. He knew Mason's current situation. Mason's power and influence were not great enough for him to act freely to eliminate Kalix.

However, that didn't mean Mason couldn't do anything. The old man could stage an accident where Kalix would be the victim. That's why Kalix needed to be extra cautious, or misfortune would befall him.

He left in a good mood, even a smile on his lips.

Ding!

"Congratulations, Host! You have completed the first mission and earned money!"

After that announcement, Kalix once again saw the screen in his mind.

[System Host: Kalix Owen

Balance: 10 million....

Skill: -

Point: 150

Reputation Point: 3.]

Kalix no longer used the bus, he booked an online taxi and headed to the fast-food restaurant where he used to work. He asked the system, "My reputation is bad in the eyes of those three people, so why did my reputation points increase?"

"Is it not Reputation Points Good? No, right? Reputation Points indicate that you have a reputation in their minds, so your presence is significant to them."

"So, regardless of whether it's a good or bad reputation, as long as they remember me and have their own judgment of me, I'll gain reputation points?"

"Yes, that's correct!" Then the system asked again after letting Kalix digest the information, "Do you have any more questions?"

"Yes," Kalix nodded. "You said I can exchange points for other things like money, items, and such?"

"Uh-huh, so what?"

"Can I exchange them for skills?"

"Of course. But you can only obtain random skills with the lottery in the system. Unless you get a gold card in the lottery, you can exchange that card for any skill you want."

Kalix was slightly intrigued after hearing this. "How can I get a gold card?"

"Balance and reputation points influence your luck in getting a gold card."

Kalix nodded, paying some attention to the familiar road but getting lost in thought. It had been a while since he'd traveled this road.

"System," he called out in his mind. "Can you check the contents of this bank card and transfer the money to my account or change the owner's name?"

"Okay, that's an easy task!" The system came and went in his mind.

"I found the child on the south beach. I didn't expect him to be your son.""Yes. I was very surprised and of course, very grateful for helping Lucas meet us." "Lucas! Be careful!" The shout came from Eugene. Watching her son continue to run around in the middle of the grass field in front of their house sometimes made Eugene feel like she was on the verge of a sudden heart attack. How could she not? Her five-year-old son was very active and almost never wanted to sit still for more than a minute. Eugene could only laugh as she watched Lucas proudly show off his catch, a small insect-shaped ball with black and reddish-orange patterns. "Are you happy to get it?" his mother asked, answered by her son's enthusiastic nod. A blade of grass fell from Lucas's head. Five years had passed, and Eugene had proven herself capable of fulfilling her duties as a mother. Lucas was active and intelligent, inheriting his good looks from Kalix, but his personality, no one knew where he got it from. "Lucas," called Kalix, who had just come out of the house. He was carrying a cup of tea to give to his beloved wife. "Can't you go a day without making yo

Before Hannah contacted Kalix's number, she found her friend's phone ringing, only to discover it was from Eugene's mother-in-law. At first, she hesitated to tell the truth, fearing it might shock the middle-aged woman. However, following Mia's advice, she eventually broke the news cautiously. Then, news came from the doctor who checked Eugene's condition, and yes, the pregnancy news made everyone who heard it feel happy. Eugene felt incredulous at first, but then she felt happy. Meanwhile, Kalix was still trying to digest his wife's words. His breathing gradually calmed, but his eyes couldn't lie. "Oh, what did you say earlier?" Eugene glanced at Kalix to reassure him and laughed before answering, "I'm pregnant, Kalix. Pregnant with your child." After seeing her husband's expression, she chuckled softly—feeling amused by what she was seeing now. "You didn't expect that, did you?" At that moment, Kalix felt the heat of his anxiety dissipating, replaced by a happiness that was eve

"Eugene, are you alright?" Kalix's worried expression couldn't be hidden when he saw his wife looking pale. Eugene smiled gently. Actually, her stomach was quite upset in the morning, perhaps due to indigestion or eating something wrong. She emerged from the bathroom after vomiting her breakfast this morning. "I think I'm fine," Eugene said casually. "Shouldn't we go to the doctor just in case? I'll take you right now," Kalix suggested. Seeing how caring her husband was, her heart felt warm, but she had to refuse, "I'm okay. Besides, I already have plans with my friends today." Kalix sighed deeply, his gaze shifting to his wife's stomach. "I don't mean to stop you, but how can you go out on an empty stomach? You just vomited all your food." Actually, Eugene didn't feel very hungry, but considering the effort the man had put into preparing breakfast this morning, she felt guilty. "I'll try to eat again." It seemed Kalix didn't quite agree with Eugene's words. However, he also fel
