While the system was running, the car had arrived in front of the fast-food restaurant. He didn't come to work, but to get away from his current job. However, he already had enough money to invest and use as initial capital.

He paid the taxi fare using an e-wallet and left after thanking the driver. As he entered the fast-food restaurant, he was greeted by familiar laughter. It was the laughter of his dorm roommate and classmates.

Kalix ignored them, but onlookers didn't think so.

"Hey, aren't these your roommates? Bro, come over and sit with us!" Rocky exclaimed when he saw Kalix walking in.

Their seating was not far from the entrance and the service area, so it wasn't surprising that they noticed Kalix's arrival. Rocky had a friend who was a subordinate of Lorenz, so he knew that Lorenz and his friends liked to bother Kalix.

As the five of them stared in his direction, Kalix finally responded, nonchalantly saying, "Yeah, enjoy your meal."

Kalix went to the back and asked one of his colleagues, "Has the manager gone home?"

His co-worker replied, "No, the manager is talking to someone inside. If you have something to discuss, talk to the manager later."

Kalix nodded and was about to go wait for the manager, but his co-worker added, "Can you help me clean the tables and take out the trash left by the customers?"

"But today is my day off," Kalix politely declined.

His co-worker snorted. "I know, but it's just the two of us tonight. Since you're here, why not help out?"

Kalix didn't like the way the person spoke, but he also had reasons to keep refusing. Plus, waiting for the manager to finish talking was quite boring. Besides, the fast-food restaurant manager was very kind to him.

In the end, Kalix nodded. He didn't change his clothes, just took off his jacket and grabbed a cloth and a cleaning spray.

Some customers didn't dispose of their trash properly after eating, so the restaurant staff had to clean the tables and dispose of the trash. Kalix did his job a bit stiffly, even though he had worked as a waiter before, it had been years since he had done this kind of work.

His stiff attitude was considered disgusting by Rocky, who had been watching Kalix from the beginning. Rocky snorted and intentionally knocked over his cola cup from the table.

"Oops, sorry. Waiters, please help clean this up!"

Kalix turned towards their table with displeasure, but his facial expression appeared indifferent. He knew they deliberately did it to embarrass him. This wasn't something new.

In his mind, Kalix asked the system, "If I give them a little lesson, will my reputation points increase?"

After a moment of silence, the system replied, "It depends on the kind of lesson you give."

Kalix smiled subtly as he lowered his head. The system felt uneasy, so he quickly warned, "Don't act too rashly in a place like this."

"I know," Kalix replied. He walked to Rocky's table after picking up the floor mop.

"Excuse me," Kalix said before starting to clean the floor.

Jimmy shifted his foot slightly and then said to Kalix, "I remember you didn't attend class today. Were you with Lorenz all day?"

It was not Kalix who responded but Rocky, with a different question for Jimmy, "Why is he with Lorenz?"

"Who knows? Maybe he's become Lorenz's errand boy," Jimmy chimed in.

"Didn't you see his beaten-up face?"

"Yo, did Lorenz beat you up badly?" Rocky looked at him mockingly.

Upon hearing this mocking question, others laughed. Kalix lifted his face and stared directly at Rocky.

Kalix's calmness and aloofness made the atmosphere a bit awkward. Despite his shabby clothes and a slightly below-average appearance, Kalix had a handsome face. His current temperament was very different from that of a poor and easily disturbed freshman.

For some reason, seeing Kalix like this made those who looked at him feel that they shouldn't bother him, or they would be at a disadvantage.

Kalix continued to clean the floor, and his composure wasn't something easily achieved. It was trained over many years in his previous life.

Rocky didn't like the feeling of being defeated without a fight; he snorted internally. So when Kalix finished and was about to leave, he extended his leg.

Of course, Kalix saw it and knew Rocky's intent, but he didn't avoid it. He fell after stumbling over Rocky's leg.

Everyone laughed; they knew what Rocky had done. Besides, no matter how Kalix behaved, to them, he was just a poor student targeted by Lorenz, a school troublemaker.

"Are you alright? Next time, watch where you're walking," said Rocky, but he didn't stand to help.

Kalix didn't respond, nor did he get up immediately. Instead, he grabbed Rocky's leg and twisted it.

Rocky's cries of pain echoed through the place, and there were disbelieving shouts from those at his table. Meanwhile, Kalix just smiled crookedly, coupled with his bruised face, making him look intimidating, almost like a psychopath.

Kalix released Rocky's leg and warned, "You should also pay attention to where your legs are, or you might lose them if you bother someone who's not patient enough."

"Damn it! You dare to threaten me!" Rocky shouted angrily.

The commotion drew the attention of several people. One of Rocky's close friends had a large and strong body and moved first to punch Kalix.

Kalix smoothly dodged the punch and kicked the big guy in the rear. A fight was inevitable; Kalix could only defend himself and target hidden pressure points. So he took more blows to the face, but his opponent didn't seem to be hurt at all.

Security personnel and people in the fast-food restaurant quickly separated them, and even the manager came.

Amidst the chaos, Kalix listened to the system's reprimand in his mind, "Why do you like to resort to violence to solve problems, huh?"

Hearing that, Kalix was also taken aback. This wasn't like his usual self, who only fought over minor issues.

"Have you forgotten that you have money now?" The system scolded again.

"No, I haven't forgotten, but... I don't know why either." Kalix mused in the eyes of the onlookers, lowering his head.

"What's going on here?" The manager was very angry when he heard what happened from the cashier. He glanced at the forlorn-looking Kalix before turning to the big and strong man next to him, as well as the limping man assisted by his two friends.

"Sir, I will order an online taxi for you to the hospital and pay for both of your medical expenses," said the restaurant manager.

"No, I don't want your money; I want him to be responsible!" Rocky pointed at Kalix, his anger not concealed. "Let him pay for all our medical bills, right, Kalix?"

All eyes turned to the pitiful-looking Kalix, even with the wounds on his face, they doubted the shabby young man would foot the bill. As all eyes focused on him with various emotions, Kalix displayed his composure.

Her five-year-old son was very active and almost never wanted to sit still for more than a minute. Eugene could only laugh as she watched Lucas proudly show off his catch, a small insect-shaped ball with black and reddish-orange patterns. Five years had passed, and Eugene had proven herself capable of fulfilling her duties as a mother. "Eugene, are you alright?" Kalix's worried expression couldn't be hidden when he saw his wife looking pale. Eugene smiled gently. Actually, her stomach was quite upset in the morning, perhaps due to indigestion or eating something wrong. She emerged from the bathroom after vomiting her breakfast this morning. "I think I'm fine," Eugene said casually. "Shouldn't we go to the doctor just in case? I'll take you right now," Kalix suggested. Seeing how caring her husband was, her heart felt warm, but she had to refuse, "I'm okay. Besides, I already have plans with my friends today." Kalix sighed deeply, his gaze shifting to his wife's stomach. "I don't mean to stop you, but how can you go out on an empty stomach? You just vomited all your food." Actually, Eugene didn't feel very hungry, but considering the effort the man had put into preparing breakfast this morning, she felt guilty. "I'll try to eat again." It seemed Kalix didn't quite agree with Eugene's words. However, he also fel
