"What did you say to that boy? He looks like he's seen a ghost," Eleanor whispered to Mason, pointing at Glenn, who was still standing silently with furrowed brows while observing Mason with sharp eyes.

"I just said that his wife is beautiful," Mason replied casually, trying to dismiss the issue.

Eleanor immediately glanced at Hazel with a displeased look, assessing the woman from head to toe—the young and radiant face and body, the innocence that couldn't be hidden, the naivety.

Hazel's sense of dressing was poor, unlike herself; she didn't know how to accentuate her beautiful body.

"Have you lowered your standards?" Eleanor sneered, making Mason smile wryly.

He gently lifted Eleanor's chin to make her look at him, smiling at his wife before kissing her softly. He ignored the stares of the people around them who were witnessing their public display of affection.
