Chapter 25
Alex continued to struggle, bound by ropes to a chair. He groaned and shook a few times, expressing his resentment.

"Please, my dad will give you any amount you want. Please don't hurt me," he begged. Despite knowing that struggling was pointless, he couldn't help but try, realizing he was only worsening his pain.

Phillips mom approached him slowly, contemplating the perfect way to dispose of him without it leading back to her. Aware of the influential status of Alex's dad in the town, she understood that he would spare no effort until his son's murderer was found. This posed a significant problem for her.

"You shouldn't have come to that house 5 days ago, Alex. Why did you come? Why did you go through his drawer?" she asked.

"I was looking for my phone. I promise, if you let me go, I won't tell anyone," Alex said, desperation growing.

"I'm afraid I can't do that. The only way you come out of this is if you die," she said, crouching to his level.
