Escaped from jail

Ambrose took a huge gulp as her eyes darted round the corners of the room. Her lips spread into an awkward smile.

When she glanced back at her mother, her mother was still looking at her with expectations of answers to her question

Ambrose dropped her smile and her shoulders. She heaved a heavy sigh. She had no choice but to tell her mother everything

Besides, she's always been a bad liar. And if there's anybody that can easily detect when she isn't telling the truth, it'd be her mother

“First, promise to stay calm, okay?”

“I won't promise that. I can't stay calm. In fact, as we speak, I'm not calm”

“Promise you won't get mad?”

“Tell me the truth first”
