Max stared at the glowing System interface as he felt strangely calm.

Finally, the wait was over...

The countdown had ended, and they had done everything they could during the past couple of days. Haven‑45 was fortified, the survivors were armed, and his group had also prepared multiple plans in case defending the shelter failed.

But then, he noticed some sort of changes in the system’s panel. It was quite similar to what had happened when he had been forcefully sent to A.I. Rebellion!

’Shit..

Max had no choice but to release the Spirit Pulse toward the ground because the mechanical tentacle was already inches from his face.Boom! The impact sent a powerful shockwave through the ground and forced Max backward. He managed to avoid the attack, but the Hunter Unit’s tentacle suddenly stretched far beyond its original length, chasing him even as he retreated.Max twisted his body at the last possible moment and narrowly avoided the second strike.Thud! The tentacle smashed into the ground instead, cracking the concrete and leaving a deep mark where Max had been standing.“Boss!” Amer shouted. “Are you okay?”He was genuinely frightened. The others had also been terrified when they saw the tentacle nearly catch their leader. The attack had come far too close, and for a moment, they had expected to see blood.Thankfully, Max was still standing. He gritted his teeth and nodded. “I’m fine! Keep firing!”The survivors immediately followed the command. They couldn’t afford to stop no

Thud!Thud! The enemies had finally arrived.Max raised his head and stared at the silhouette of the supposed Hunter Unit from the A.I. Army.‘Wait… It’s alone?’He couldn’t hide his surprise. He had expected several Hunter Units to arrive together, especially after seeing how aggressively the machines had been probing their shelter. But that wasn’t the only thing that caught him off guard. The Hunter’s appearance was nothing like what Max had imagined. From the name alone, he had pictured some kind of assassin. In his mind, a Hunter Unit would probably be a dark humanoid machine equipped with daggers, rifles, or perhaps some kind of plasma weapon capable of killing its target before the victim even realized what was happening. What actually stepped into view completely ruined that image. The figure was humanoid, but its body was covered in high-tech fabric that seemed to absorb the light around it. The cloak rippled strangely as the Hunter moved, almost like liquid shadow flowing ove

The survivors remained silent as they listened to the faint hum of the jammer and the occasional scraping sounds coming from above. Nobody wanted to make unnecessary noise and risk drawing attention to themselves. After everything they had already survived, being discovered because someone made a careless sound would have been ridiculous.Max narrowed his eyes and concentrated on the vibrations traveling through the walls. At first, it seemed as though the Swarmers were only examining the shelter from outside, testing the defenses and looking for an opening. Then a sharper noise suddenly cut through the quiet.A sizzling hiss followed, accompanied by a faint glow of heat.‘What?!’Max didn’t need to activate any skill to understand what was happening. His instincts immediately told him what the machines were doing.‘They’re cutting…’Sure enough, the Swarmers had extended thin, heated blades from their appendages. The insect-like drones pressed themselves against the barricades and be

Max was furious. They had barely gotten any time to make use of the Energy Cores they had collected from the Field Tyrant, the Spyders, and the Reapers. They had returned to New Ark-45 expecting to finally get a chance to organize their loot and strengthen the shelter, only to be attacked by a group of mutated humans, strange creatures that the system had never mentioned before.Max still wanted to examine those unknown creatures and figure out where they had come from, but there was no time for that anymore. Their situation had changed too quickly. They were no longer dealing with something they could investigate later. Their shelter was now facing a threat that could wipe them all out.Whom~The ground shook again as the silhouette of the Field Tyrant drew closer. Its enormous mechanical frame groaned with every step, the sound carrying across the shelter and making the survivors on the walls grip their weapons tighter.“Ryan!” Max shouted from below the ramparts. “Get Atom’s ammuni

Mila had always taken pride in her work, even though most people rarely noticed how important it was. As the head of the Sanitation Crew, she and her team were responsible for keeping New Ark-45 clean and livable. Toilets, floors, the junkyard, storage areas, and even the most disgusting corners of the shelter were their responsibility. Nothing was considered beneath them because, in a world like this, every dirty corner could become a serious problem.During an A.I. apocalypse, infection and sickness could be just as deadly as a Reaper’s plasma blast. Medicine was scarce, and even when they managed to find some, there was no guarantee that it would actually work. Keeping the shelter clean was therefore more than simple housekeeping. It was another form of survival, and Mila understood that better than almost anyone.Once her daily duties were finished, Mila never simply sat around. She had already realized that being unable to fight could become a weakness, so she started training wi

Riyah knew that if the Max on the Leaderboard was really the same reliable officemate she knew, seeing her name there would probably catch his attention too. If he recognized it, there was at least a chance they could find each other again. She couldn’t afford to waste that opportunity. To make that possible, she needed to reach Level 10 as quickly as she could. More importantly, she had to stay there and maintain a position within the Top 20, even if she couldn’t reach the Top 3. The system had already made it clear that only the Top 20 Survivors would receive rewards, and the higher her ranking, the more likely Max would notice her.Riyah understood that her Living Camouflage Talent was her greatest advantage. She couldn’t overpower the Field Tyrant, but she didn’t need to. If she could control the battlefield and make the machine fight on her terms, she had a chance. After planning everything carefully, Riyah began leading the Tyrant toward a gorge where the ground was already unst
