"Seventeen seconds? I might not even last ten..." Henry whispered trembling, then his gaze shifted to the orc fallen sword.
He crawled, fingers stretching. Just as he grabbed it, the orc ripped the arrow from its toe and limped toward him. It loomed above. Snarling, bleeding, and furious. "Ahhhh!" it growled, dragging Henry up by the neck and pinning him to the wall. [-1 HP] [-1 HP] [-1 HP] Henry groaned, barely able to move. Just as the orc raised it's fist, Henry used the opportunity and plunged the sword into its eye. [-9 HP] The beast screamed and dropped him. [Weapon reloaded -1 HP] [HP:5] [Weapon Ready] "There's still hope" Henry whispered weakly, he tighten his grip around his bow and aim at the orc. The orc staggering, tied to pull the blade from its eye. *Whew.* The arrow struck true, straight into its forehead. The mutated orc went still. Then fell. [You've killed an Orc!] [+10 XP] Henry dropped his bow, breath heavily with blood on his lips. ... Henry stirred, eyes blinking open to the dim light of the dungeon ceiling. For a moment he just lay there, staring upward, the faint smell of damp stone and stale air filling his lungs. Then reality caught up. "Dammit… I fell asleep," he muttered, rubbing the grit from his eyes. *Ding!* [HP restored: You've been unharmed for ten minutes] [HP: 25/25] His heart sank a little at the reminder. He was still in the dungeon, still surrounded by whatever monsters lived here. Sleeping here had been reckless or stupid even. "Ahh… whew." Henry exhaled slowly, pushing himself upright. "Can't wait to get out of here." His gaze drifted to the orc corpse nearby. Above its head, faintly glowing, floated an Evolution Crystal. Henry stepped closer, fingers curling around it before tossing it back in a single swallow. [Evolution Crystal absorbed] [Evolution Crystal: 7/10] [STATUS] [Name: Henry] [Race: Goblin] [Class: Marksman] [SP: 0] [Level: 3] [EXP: 60/300] [Evolution Crystals: 7] [HP: 25/25] [Strength: 12] [Agility: 13] [Stamina: 13] [Vitality: 11] [Skills: Inspect Lv.2] "Three more to go," he murmured, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. His eyes wandered over the orc's body, more specifically, to its gear. The sword and shield felt heavy in his hands, unbalanced for his smaller frame, but valuable nonetheless. He stored them away and his gaze landed on the armor. 'That should sell for a decent price.' He stripped it off the corpse, piece by piece, and tucked it into his inventory. Then, taking a steady breath, he turned toward the far door. The metal handle felt cold under his fingers. Henry pushed it open and stepped into the next chamber. It was larger than the previous room, shadows pooling in the corners. He scanned the space and froze. Two figures lay on the floor. Motionless. Cautiously, Henry approached. Their clothes and weapons marked them as adventurer humans. Kneeling beside the first, he turned the body over. A deep slash cut across the man's throat, and the second had a gaping wound in his chest. " The blood are still flesh, those orc did this" Henry whispered. He took their swords, feeling a flicker of guilt, and stored them away. "Forgive me, but you won't need these where you are." His curiosity itched. 'Why were humans here?' He searched their belongings, fingers brushing against something smooth and cool, a crystal. "Evolution Crystal…" he breathed. "They must have come to hunt beasts for these… and ran into something stronger." 'If humans sought crystals, that meant there had to be a settlement nearby' A bigger question gnawed at him. 'Did they, too, evolve using these?' Before he could dwell on it, a voice echoed in his head. "If you're looking for assistance, I can answer 99% of your questions. I would be of great help to you." Henry shot to his feet, scanning the shadows. "Dammit… who the hell is that?" "I am RAI," the voice replied smoothly, directly inside his mind. Henry's brow furrowed. "My system talks now?" [For more access, activate RAI for question-and-answer assistance.] "What is RAI?" [Reincarnated-kind Artificial Intelligence.] His lips twitched. "This… could be useful. Alright—activate." [Are you sure?] "Yes. And why do you sound like you're warning me?" [Once RAI is activated, it cannot be deactivated.] Henry hesitated only for a moment. "Fine, as long as you can answer my questions." [RAI is activating… please wait.] Minutes felt like hours, then finally the notification popped up. [RAI has been activated.] A light flared before him, shaping into the figure of a boy, maybe sixteen, wearing a faint smirk. Henry blinked. 'So this is RAI?' (Yo, Henry. Thanks for activating me. You won't regret it.) Henry narrowed his eyes. "Hope not." (Alright, little goblin, what's your first question?) "Hey, cut the 'little goblin' crap. I'm your boss. Without me, there'd be no you." (Sure, you're my boss. But I've been around for thousands of years, and you haven't. You need me more than I need you.) Henry clicked his tongue. 'Cocky AI…' "Fine, RAI. First off all, where have you been since my reincarnation?" (In the system. You just never turned me on.) "Well, you can't activate yourself, so you still work for me. Show some respect." (Alright, B Henry. What's your question?) "What's the 'B' for?" (It stands for Boss.) "…Drop the 'Boss.' Just Henry is fine." (Fine. Now questions?) Henry drew a slow breath. "Do humans use Evolution Crystals too? Do they… evolve?"Latest Chapter
Chapter 58 History Book
Henry stared at Juliet, his breath uneven. He was lost in words and didn't know what to say.Juliet’s eyes softened for a moment, then hardened again. “I don’t know why I’m attached to you, Henry,” she said quietly. “I know nothing about you.” She brushed past him, giving him a slight shove as she walked ahead.Henry sighed, rubbing his neck. “Last time I told her where I really came from, she didn’t believe me,” he muttered under his breath. Shaking his head, he followed her down the dusty path toward the merchant’s house.“Juliet!” he called. She didn’t answer. Her pace didn’t even slow. When they reached the merchant’s residence, Juliet entered first. Henry followed, keeping a respectful distance. Hours passed before Wednesday and Vorden finally arrived, looking exhausted but pleased. They gathered in the sitting room, talking about the quest and the strange beasts they’d faced. Henry caught Juliet’s eyes once—but she turned away almost instantly, pretending to focus on her food.D
Chapter 57 You lied
Henry’s feet pounded against the forest floor as he muttered under his breath, " Alright let's play a little.”Behind him, the thunder of hooves shook the ground. The evolved Fang Boar bellowed furiously and charged. Henry darted between trees, glancing around. Then he spotted one, a tall oak with a sturdy branch angled perfectly for climbing.“Got you,” he whispered. He leapt, caught the branch, and hauled himself upward in one clean motion. The boar crashed against the base of the tree, its tusks scraping bark and splintering wood. It glared up at him, snorting hot air through flared nostrils.“Nice chase” Henry muttered, tightening his grip on the branch as the beast rammed the trunk again and again. Each strike sent shivers up the wood. The tree groaned in protest, its roots loosening as soil shifted beneath it. Henry felt the tremors vibrate through his feet.“Alright, buddy, that’s enough,” he muttered, looking down at the fanged brute that refused to quit.He sighed. “I'll sti
Chapter 56 Fanged Boar
“What is it? Why are you smiling?” the receptionist asked, narrowing her eyes slightly, curiosity playing at the corners of her lips. Henry blinked, snapping out of his daze. “Nothing,” he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. His eyes accidentally drifted down for the valley at her chest but darted away before she could notice. “Come on, guys! Let’s get this quest started!” Wednesday spoke. They left the guild together but soon split up, each heading toward their respective quest destinations. Henry followed the rough map printed on the back of his quest sheet, his boots crunching softly on the gravel road. “I’m only supposed to kill two Fang Boars and bring their crystals back,” he murmured to himself, holding the quest paper against the wind. “Even if I take down twenty, no one would know. The extra crystals would all be mine.” He grinned a little at the thought. But as he walked through the busy street leading to the capital gate, his attention was caught by a famili
Chapter 55 First Guild Quest
Juliet’s soft voice broke the momentary silence. “What’s wrong?” she asked from behind, noticing the woman’s fixed gaze on Henry. “I don’t know,” the woman replied, her brows furrowed. “Something feels… different about his face.” Juliet chuckled, stepping closer with a teasing smile. “Yeah, he’s handsome, right? Most people even mistake him for a girl.” “Maybe.” The woman shrugged, brushing it off before walking away. Henry, however, knew she wasn’t just admiring him, she had sensed something unusual. She was a high-level adventurer, skilled and perceptive. If she had truly seen through him, he might’ve been in trouble. There were too many adventurers here for him to escape unnoticed if something went wrong. 'Almost got caught' Henry thought with a sigh of relief. Minutes later, the receptionist returned, holding several small cards. “Congratulations,” she said with a polite smile as she handed them out. “You’re now official F-Rank adventurers. Welcome to the guild.” He
Chapter 54 Something Different
“We’d like to register as adventurers,” Vorden said confidently to the receptionist behind the counter. The woman looked up from her desk and smiled politely. “Wait a moment.” She pulled open a drawer, retrieved a small stack of forms, and spread them neatly before the group.“Please fill these out first,” she said.Henry stared at the paper in front of him, feeling lost. The only things he could confidently fill in were his name and age. Vorden, however, was already writing swiftly, so Henry subtly peeked at his sheet for clues and managed to complete his own form with some effort.Once they were done, the receptionist began explaining the rules and responsibilities of adventurers, how guild ranks worked, the importance of missions, and the conduct expected from every registered member. She had clearly done this many times before, her tone professional yet patient. Henry listened with extra attention; everything about this world was new to him, and he didn’t want to miss a detail.Wh
Chapter 53 Guild Receptionist
Panic rippled through the group as they rushed toward Henry, their faces tight with fear and confusion. “Don’t worry, guys. I’ll be alright,” Henry muttered, forcing a calm smile even as his mind spun. His body slowly began to heal from within. “Maids!” the merchant barked, his voice sharp at first, then quickly softening into reassurance. “Don’t panic, Henry. It’s just a cut. You’ll be fine. The healer lives only a stone’s throw away.” Vorden dropped beside Henry, guilt written all over him. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he said, voice trembling. Henry didn’t answer. He sat there quietly, clutching his arm. Within, the injury was healing and now it's because visible to the eyes. “Wait... look at that,” the merchant’s wife whispered, eyes wide in disbelief. “Are you a mage?” Wednesday asked, her gaze locked on Henry’s arm as the last traces of injury disappeared. “Thank the goddess,” Vorden exhaled, relief washing over him. “It’s healing... he’s really healin
