“Do you really have to see her?” Ria asked as she got into the back seat with Chris. Butler Steve was in the driver’s seat with a bodyguard beside him.

“What do you mean?” Chris asked, frowning.

“I mean…she is the one who got you into this mess. If she didn't wander around–”

“Shut it.” Chris interrupted her quickly, his eyes staring angrily at her. He hissed slightly and said, “It's none of your business, Ria. Don’t slander Mia.”

However, Ria wasn't ready to back down, “I hope you will finally see the light.”

Chris had his hands fisted beside him and he looked out of the window, trying to control himself from bursting angrily at Ria.

“What were you doing at the school building?” He asked suddenly and then turned to look at her, with dim eyes. He was starting to get suspicious of her and Ria looked at him, with a stormy gaze.

“What do you mean?” She avoided his eyes, turning to look out of the window.

“I mean… what were you doing at the school building so late at night? Did you h

Late into the night, the doctor had finished his overall check up on Baron’s health and he only needed to rest for a little while.Chris had immediately ordered for a few maids to clean him up and he was sent to the building behind the main Westminster mansion. Now, they were all seated, watching Baron as he leaned on the bedstand. “You should start spilling the information, shouldn't you?” Chris demanded. He folded his arms, waiting, and he was ready to dish his next set of orders as long as Baron would cooperate. And if he wouldn't, he would get rid of him silently. “Get…get my wife…” Baron whispered, his chest heaving up and down just from those few words he said. “I know…you can’t let me out of here but my wife can certainly lead you on how to access the bug.”There was a ray of hope in his heart, thinking as long as Chris believed him enough to get him out of that house, Chris would believe him again and contact his wife. A frown marred Chris’ face due to that. Bringing in m

  • Escaping By A Nick Of Time

The sound of the police sirens whirled through the dark night. Mars had made sure to go far away, from the house, so Chris’ men wouldn't discover him there. Now, he sat in one of the police cars, riding on the cocktail that he was about to apprehend Chris. He couldn't fathom just how much the patriarch would reward him, after all, Baron, his son couldn't even do anything damaging to Chris. The thought that the patriarch might even treat him like a worthy son, was thrilling. “Is this the location?” The police asked as they approached the house. “Yes.” Mars nodded. “Can you turn off the sirens? We shouldn't alert the goons inside.”The policemen silently listened to him but as they approached the house, Mars frowned, trouble whirling in his mind. Chris’ car which was parked at the entrance of the building was nowhere to be found. When he watched Chris interrogate Baron earlier, he was sure Chris wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. Even though he had witnessed a large part of their con

  • Broken Soul

“Welcome, boss!” The men all bowed as soon as they saw Chris and they didn't dare to look him in the face. They remained bowing until Chris waved his hand in dismissal. “I brought him here just to be safe. This place cannot be tracked easily.” Rico explained as he ushered Chris into the house. It was dark in there and they passed through a few doors and rooms before they finally got to where Baron was. However, the stench coming from the room made Chris know that Baron had been in hell all this while. “I made sure he rotted in there.” Rico smiled smiled nervously. “Just losing the CEO position isn't enough punishment for what he did to you. I couldn't just let him enjoy his life.”“I understand.” Chris nodded with an approving gaze. He was grateful that Rico Axe was loyal to him and always looking out for him. However, when he stepped into the room, he never expected what he saw. He had seen prisoners being tortured back at their mafia base but this was on a whole new level. “Wha

  • Following Chris

“How did it go?” Chris asked as he scrolled through a few documents on his phone. He was particularly concerned about how Mars had reacted to the order he gave. “We have nothing from him. After he left the meeting room, he disappeared.” Rico Axe said. “He just disappeared?” Chris raised a brow in question. “Yes!” Rico nodded. “Can you find more information on him? Something about him just ticks me off. His sudden appearance is suspicious.” Chris demanded, his gaze turning dim in thought. “Alright. I will do that.” Rico nodded. “Also, the police have requested your presence.” “Why?” Chris frowned. “Reid is yet to be found and they are asking if you can give them any information. They need you in for questioning tomorrow.”“Hmm…” Chris frowned, feeling like something was off. He didn't think Reid had the resources to hide so well but. He could decide to mobilize his men to look for Reid but it could interfere with the police work. However, on his end, Reid was a ticking time bom

  • Mars’ Dilemma

Mars stared at Walker Rice, hoping he would do something and say something on his behalf but that didn't happen. Walked joined Rico Axe in staring at him, waiting for him to leave. On the other hand, Mars knew he couldn't just leave, or else he would be in a lot of trouble. “Can you tell me why?” He asked Rico, trying to stay calm. “I can’t say, Mr. Mars. My job is to receive direct orders from my boss.” Rico shook his head, nonchalantly. Finally, his last resort, Mars looked at Walker, “Boss, do something.”Walker closed his eyes, torn between speaking up for Mars and just continuing the meeting. There was a lot at stake and he couldn't afford to offend Chris. So he said, “Maybe you should think about what you did. Chris wouldn't just do a thing like this. While you are out, reflect on your actions.”Mars was taken aback. He begged for the deal to be reinstated and a while ago, Walker was commending him and now, he was being treated like someone who had done wrong. In that mome

  • See Your Assistant Out

Chris was right in the car, staring curiously at Mars who kept banging his head on the hard floor. Even though he was dripping with blood down his head, Mars didn't stop. Also, Chris observed that his skin tore way too easily. He wasn't concerned about the self-harming Mars but he was incredibly curious. It seemed Mars was unpredictable. And as he looked out of the windscreen, with the lights shining on Mars’ face, it was as if Mars was looking back at him, with an eerie smile. Even though he was obviously in pain, Mars was smiling. But the most disturbing thing was that the car windows were tinted and there was no way Mars knew Chris was looking at him. He was just staring. Second by second, he looked even more unpredictable to Chris and irked him so much. If Chris wanted to, he could drive off and leave him to continue self-harming but he didn't do that. He stepped out of the car, his hands in his pockets as he approached Mars. “Do you want to die here?” Chris spoke up, standi
