Jeff's chest puffed like an overinflated balloon as Eva stepped into the air space.

She was stunning, her boobs were worth dying. Her elegance, her perfect curves and the authority that she placed into every step.

Jeff was star-struck.

Natasha growled behind him, jealousy twisting into her lips but Jeff didn't care.

He needed to catch the attention of this young lady. That had always been his intention from past visits to the Tenant business group and thanks to Ethan's embarrassment, this moment was going to shine before Eva.

Jeff stepped forward, his voice overly loud and confident. His shoulders stretched and his tone pitched. "It's more than a pleasure to have you here Miss. Eva. There have been a... Disturbance, but thanks to my quick thinking, it's almost under control.

But sadly, this low-life of a guard doesn't seem to have read his job description properly before accepting the job.

Can you imagine that he dared to allow pests into the place? While he was stationed here for pest control?"

Miss. Eva brows arched, her voice cool and measured cuts through the yard like ice... "Pest?"

Jeff clapped with excitement boiling through his vines."Yes, that man over there!" He stabbed his hands right at Ethan.

"He insists on joining the train with us. Ridiculous right?"

"But it's nothing that I cannot easily fix, just give me the word and he would be done away with in a blink. My bouncer here?" Jeff's grin grew wider. "Is one of the best anyone can get in the city and I got him for quite a chuckle. He will get the two hooligans running through the gates without even breaking a sweat."

The crowd shrieked with approval.

"Yes! He doesn't deserve to stand here with the rest of us!"

"Throw him out!"

"He doesn't belong here!"

"Get rid of the beggar!"

Eva's stomach twisted but her feet remained firm.

She was supposed to treat her master's like they had done. They had the power to make her life a living hell.

Yet those packs of living moths, who didn't even realize that he owed the company that they sought favour from dared to humiliate him like he was nothing.

Her hands clenched tightly until they popped, anger flaring through her veins like a boiling point.

"Pest? You dare to call the honoured guest of the Tenent business group a past?"

The crowd froze. Breath locked in lungs, hearts hammered with panic.

Had they heard correctly? Ethan... The honoured guest?

Shock rolled through the crowd like an earthquake. Indeed Ethan was the guest of the Tenant business group and they had just humiliated him, wouldn't that mean that there was no chance for them to get the business?

People wept. Regrets choked them. Some choked. Others cursed under their breaths.

Most of them had been banking on this project as the only hope of getting their companies back on their feet, and yet, they had just ruined everything with such a petty mistake.

They turned on Jeff and Natasha.

"Because of them, we mocked the wrong man."

"Idiots!"

"Trash!"

"They ruined all of us!"

Eva ignored the chaos, she strolled over to Ethan and bowed. Her tone respectful yet apologetic.

"Sir! Ethan, forgive me. I sincerely apologize for the humiliation you endured due to my absence."

She didn't dare to call him young master in the crowd since he had already noted that he wanted his identity hidden.

The crowd gasped. Eva, the iron lady of the Tenant business group... Bowing? No way she had made a mistake twice. It was confirmed, Ethan was no ordinary man.

Panic exploded. One after the other, voices wailed.

"Fools!" They cursed Jeff and Natasha. "Look at what you made us do. Lying blames an innocent person!"

"Trash! You should be punished!" Some even went to the extent of throwing stuff at the couples.

Jeff and Natasha frowned deeply watching the crowd grovel at Ethan's feet.

"We made a mistake. Please good sir, put a word to Miss Natasha that we are good people.

We would have never done that if we had not been brainwashed by both of them!" The once arrogant businessmen now groveled like beggars

Thoughts ran through Jeff's head. Jealousy gnawed at him. He had known Ethan for a long time. They had been classmates while he was a student at business school, sustained by a scholarship and his parents' merger allowance.

Anyone could be related to the Tenents but definitely not Ethan, the live-in son-in-law of the Kilsons' family.

The only thing that he was good at was being useless.

Watching as Miss. Eva treated him with so much respect. It tickled his ego in every wrong way, he was supposed to be the one in that situation, bowed at, and made Eva do his bidding.

He quickly straightened his shoulders, forcing a laugh.

"You must be mistaking this low-life for someone else Miss. Eva!"

"This is Ethan, live-in son-in-law of the Kilson family. More like a servant after all.

This low life could never be someone powerful."

"Yes! That's right!" Natasha chimed in, desperate to back him and humiliate Ethan.

"Soon his wife would divorce him and he would be sleeping on the street. He isn't even worth mopping Tenent's floors!"

Miss. Eva's jaws clenched, her voice cold and lethal. "Do I look like the kind of person who makes mistakes?"

Jeff flinched back as is struck. Sweat beaded on Natasha's face

Eva's voice narrowed, her tone like thunder. "You insulted my guest not once but twice. Do you think that will be brushed aside? You will have plenty time to explain yourself to the police."

Their faces instantly collapsed.

"Police?" Natasha croaked, horror flooding through her vines.

Their company was already going through a lot of tension, and a case from a Tenant was going to cause way too much trouble.

Jeff's laugh was hollow, trembling... "We.. we were just trying to help!"

"You would do that better in jail!" Eva's tone cuts through his words like a blade.

Desperate, Natasha and Jeff spun to Ethan, clutching to his clothes.

"Please! Tell her to forgive us. We will never look down on you again. We swear."

But Ethan shook them off instantly, cold steel burning in his stare.

"I don't think I can do much for you! I'm a lowlife, remember?"

They shrank, despair woven into their stomach. They quickly turned to the bouncer to defend them from the two guards.

However, with just a lift, he was lifted from the grounds. Jeff and Natasha's stomach sank.

Soon, they were bundled away from the place.

Silence clustered the hall. No one dared to move.

Miss. Eva's eyes flicked to them and they shivered. Then like dominoes, they all dropped to their knees, slamming their heads on the ground.

"Please forgive us, Miss. Eva. Forgive us master Ethan."

After watching how the almighty Natasha and Jeff had been trashed out, they didn't care about Ethan's status anymore, their survival was all that mattered.

Eva turned around towards Ethan, calm yet sharp.

A hint of amusement glimmered in her eyes but her face remained professional.

"Master Ethan!" She said evenly. "What do you wish to do to them?"

Heart plummeted. Their lives now hung on the very man they had mocked and spat on.

With his eyes wide, and his breath shaky, Paul continued to pant, his grip on the gun getting very slippery. “Who are you?” He muttered, eyes still on Ethan who was still standing right before him, unflustered, and unhurt. Apparently, the bullet missed him by an inch, piercing into the wall behind him. Ethan scoffed, looking him in the eyes. “My name is Ethan, Paul. That’s all you need to know.” He effortlessly grabbed the gun from Paul who was too terrified to drag its possession with him. “I will hold onto this while you unlock the door.” Ethan cleared his throat, turning to face the door to the room where Sabrina said her daughters had been kept. Paul swallowed hard. “I can’t let you take them, Ethan. They are my children.”Ethan growled, his patience speedily drifting away. “You don’t want to know what I can do to you, Paul. Don’t make me say this again. Unlock the door right now or I will be aiming for your head! I won’t miss just like you did!”“Okay! Okay!” Paul succumb

There were feelings of caution, but reminded of the reason why he had returned to the mansion, Ethan had to move toward the staircase, seeing the blood all over the floor. He climbed the staircase, and he could still see the blood, prompting him to follow it until he arrived at the doorstep of one of the rooms upstairs. He stood still, leaned closer to the door with his ear, and listened. He couldn’t hear anything, but the blood on the floor indicated that someone could be inside the room. His eyes went down to the handle of the door, and just when he was about to grab it, he noticed the bloodstain on it as well. This made him retrace his steps, and he took a deep breath while staring at the bloody door handle. The chances of Paul being inside the room were

CHAPTER NINETY-ONE Emma groaned, staggering back to her feet. “I am alright.” She managed to break her silence, leaning on the wall to maintain her balance. Then she took a deep breath, turning to Sabrina. “Aunt Sabrina?” She called out, but there was no response. Unable to fight off the feeling that intensely surged into her, she quickly ran to the lady, went down on her knees beside her, and tried to get her to stand. “Aunt Sabrina?!” She called out again, but there was still no response. “Can you hear me?!” She pushed, her breath unsteady. “Get up, Aunt Sabrina! Wake up!” Tears slowly trickled down her face, and when she lowered her ear to Sabrina’s chest, she sighed heavily. “We need to take her to the hospital, Ethan!” She turned to her husband, breathing frantically. Paul shook his head in refusal. “No one is taking her to the hospital! She is not leaving my house!
