CHAPTER SEVENTY-THREE

The meeting lasted for a few minutes longer, and Jason was already ready to leave.

“I have a meeting with the lawyer in charge of Ivan’s case this evening. I have to go get ready.” He said, getting up and grabbing all the documents he kept on the desk.

Ethan and Eva stared at each other, and then they returned their eyes to the attorney.

“What for?” Ethan asked, seeming very worried over what he heard.

“Nothing really.” Jason cleared his throat while he arranged all the documents and files in his suitcase.

“I don’t like to crush people without warning them. I know that Ivan’s lawyer is stubborn, but I am hoping that he will back down this time, and not put his client in a serious problem.”

Ethan nodded with a wry smile. “Victor is troublesome. These are the kind of cases he likes.”

Jason turned to Ethan at once, setting aside what he was doing.

“You know him?” He asked the same question that was nestled inside Eva’s mind, and the young CEO no

He ran at him without delay, fueled by rage. The muscular man took a stance, spread his arms, and waited for Ethan to draw close so that he could deal with him. “You will pay for this!” He growled, and certain that he was going to be able to throw a punch to Ethan’s face, he lifted his hand, waiting for him to draw close. Ethan saw that as a perfect opportunity, and when he was close enough, he aimed for the man’s belly, sinking his balled fists as many times as possible. This caused the muscular man to drop to his knees on the floor, and then he vomited, holding onto his belly with both hands. Ethan squeezed his face in disgust, looking down at the food on the floor. “You didn’t take water when you ate all of that egg?” He grabbed the man on the back of his head, and then he slapped him so hard on the face that he dropped to the ground. Certain that the man was not going to be able to get up at least for a while, Ethan hurried to the corner where the girls were, and then he led

Left speechless, Ethan didn’t know what to say.He stared into the lady’s eyes, hoping that he was going to get even the slightest idea that she could be joking, but she looked very serious even with her wry smile still intact. He took a deep breath, and then he cleared his throat, still trying to make sense of everything that was going on. Rhianna decided to break the silence since he was too dumbfounded to speak. “You look like you have seen a ghost, Ethan.” She chuckled softly, rubbing her hands on Ethan’s chest until he got very uncomfortable and had to move backward. Rhianna chuckled. “Don’t be silly! I have so many men at my beck and call, Ethan. You should be lucky I found you charming.” She bit her lower lip, still giving him a salacious stare. “I see that you a properly brushed up, Ethan. That means that you could be rich, or probably pretending to be rich.” She continued to size him up, looking all over his body.Ethan was both irritated and annoyed by her remark, and at

“Who are you?” Ethan was able to get a hold on himself, holding onto the children who were terrified at the sight of the two muscular men. They whimpered, and it was obvious that they were about to start crying again.Ethan was annoyed when he saw the terror in the eyes of the girls, his eyes burning with annoyance.Worst still, the men said nothing to him. They just blocked the way, glaring while they took stances of combat. Ethan returned his gaze to the children, and then he knelt before them, forcing a smile. “Mellissa?” He waited until he had the girl’s attention, and then he cleared his throat. “I think you should take your sister and wait over there, okay?” He pointed to a hidden corner that was by the right, and Mellissa nodded, still terrified by the size of the men. She grabbed her sister, and slowly walked away, leaving Ethan alone with the men.The few people who were around the premises had disappeared, leaving Ethan alone to his fate. He slowly got up from his knee

“Don’t you ever call her that in your life!” He warned, taking two steps closer to Ethan.“Don’t you ever do that again!” Ethan scoffed, looking at him with a wry smile.“It’s funny that even with everything that has happened, you still dare to point your filthy finger at me, claiming that Sabrina is still your wife.”“But she is!”“She is not!” Ethan roared, and without warning, he grabbed Paul by the neck, pushing him to the bed.He pinned him down, and all Paul could do was struggle, groan, and attempt to kick him.“Let me go, you idiot!” Paul spat, but Ethan refused to set him free.“As long as I am alive, those children and their mother will be far away from you. You will never see them again.”“That’s never going to happen! Except I am dead!” Paul gathered his breath, boiling in a rage. “You will have to kill me before I let that happen.” He added, causing Ethan to snigger. “Gladly.” Ethan let go of him, and then he picked up the gun from the floor. “I am going to make this

With his eyes wide, and his breath shaky, Paul continued to pant, his grip on the gun getting very slippery. “Who are you?” He muttered, eyes still on Ethan who was still standing right before him, unflustered, and unhurt. Apparently, the bullet missed him by an inch, piercing into the wall behind him. Ethan scoffed, looking him in the eyes. “My name is Ethan, Paul. That’s all you need to know.” He effortlessly grabbed the gun from Paul who was too terrified to drag its possession with him. “I will hold onto this while you unlock the door.” Ethan cleared his throat, turning to face the door to the room where Sabrina said her daughters had been kept. Paul swallowed hard. “I can’t let you take them, Ethan. They are my children.”Ethan growled, his patience speedily drifting away. “You don’t want to know what I can do to you, Paul. Don’t make me say this again. Unlock the door right now or I will be aiming for your head! I won’t miss just like you did!”“Okay! Okay!” Paul succumb

Ethan needed no one to tell him that something was wrong. He took a deep breath, scouring the entire living room. There was no sound, not even the slightest of it.Just silence, and the thoughts that echoed inside his head. There were feelings of caution, but reminded of the reason why he had returned to the mansion, Ethan had to move toward the staircase, seeing the blood all over the floor. He climbed the staircase, and he could still see the blood, prompting him to follow it until he arrived at the doorstep of one of the rooms upstairs. He stood still, leaned closer to the door with his ear, and listened. He couldn’t hear anything, but the blood on the floor indicated that someone could be inside the room. His eyes went down to the handle of the door, and just when he was about to grab it, he noticed the bloodstain on it as well. This made him retrace his steps, and he took a deep breath while staring at the bloody door handle. The chances of Paul being inside the room were
