The principal was still at a loss as to what to do about the call he had just received. He did not know how to begin to apologize to Jason for the humiliation he had cost him.

"Is there a problem sir?" Jason asked him. He had noticed the way the principal had been staring at him as though he was thinking of what to do to him.

"I need you to go to your class for now," the principal said to him.

"But sir," Jason interjected. "I'm here to make you understand that I did not take the college fund that was stolen," he said.

"Don't worry about it," the principal said. "Just go to your class," he added.

The principal knew that even though Jason was the culprit, the money would be refunded in a blink of an eye because his father could do so.

Once Jason was out of the office, the principal got to work immediately. He had to make sure that Jason was truly the culprit before he began to make such decisions against the poor boy.

He thought of a way to go about it, and almost immediately, an idea crept up in his mind. The college fund had been stolen from his office and there was a hidden camera that had been put there to avoid any theft occurrence in his office.

He had not had any use of it in a long time because he had not experienced any case of theft until recently.

He opened up his computer and checked for the footage of the day the money was stolen. He was almost losing hope as no one appeared in the footage as the culprit. Just as he was about to shut the laptop, he noticed some movements in the footage.

He looked closely and there was his culprit. But something was surprising that was happening. Unluckily for him, it was not Jason Abbott in the footage. He was wrong all this time. He decided that he would severely deal with whoever was the culprit.

He was still fuming with rage when he got to Jason's class. They were already having their English language lectures. The students were surprised to see him, as it was the second time the principal was entering their class for the day.

"First of all," the principal began when the English professor had given him the stage. "I want to apologize to Jason for what happened earlier in this class," he said.

The students began to whisper to one another. It was surprising that their principal would apologize to a student. They had never seen that happen before.

"Where is Jason?" The principal asked. Jason stood up quietly from where he was. He was extremely surprised too that the principal was apologizing to him. It was then that he realized that Declan had probably done what he was asked to do, by making him the sponsor.

The most fascinating thing about what was happening was that the other students did not know about what was happening.

"I'm sorry for speaking to you in that manner earlier," the principal apologized to him again.

Everybody turned around to stare at Jason, who was suddenly the principal's favorite, even though most of them were not happy with what was happening.

"Sir, Jason stole the college funds that everyone is entitled to in this school," Anthony protested as he stood on his feet. "He is not supposed to go Scot free," he continued.

The other students were in support of him, not because they had proof that Jason was the culprit, but because they simply did not like him at all.

They referred to him as the plague because he was not as rich and famous as the other kids in school. He barely talked to anyone and only focused on his schoolwork.

"How do you know that he was the person that stole the funds?" The principal asked Anthony.

"Because I caught him doing so," Cecilia said as she stood up beside her new boyfriend.

The whole class cheered them on. They were suddenly the super couple of the class, while Jason was the geek that just got dumped. Cecilia had become Anthony's girlfriend because he had the money to spend and it made her the most popular girl in school.

"Are you sure that you caught him?" The principal asked, seething with anger.

"If she said she caught him, then she did," Anthony said in a very disrespectful manner.

This made the principal very annoyed. Anthony had a record of being disrespectful to all his lecturers and it was beyond annoying.

He walked up to Anthony and slapped him hard across the face, taking the boy and the other students in the class by surprise. It elicited some murmurings in the class, but the principal did not mind.

"If I hear one more word from you, I will make sure you and your little girlfriend are suspended from this school," the principal said to Anthony, who was still holding his face in pain.

He then turned to face Jason again, this time with a smile on his face.

"I will make sure that none of this repeats itself," the principal assured him.

"This is a warning to every one of you," the principal began again as he looked around the class at all the students, with his hands in his pocket. "If I hear of any student being rude to Jason, that person would be expelled immediately," he warned everyone.

"Do you all understand?" He asked in a stern voice.

"Yes sir," the entire class responded.

"Jason," the principal began again. "If you need anything at all, do not hesitate to reach out to me, okay?"

Jason nodded even though he was still at a loss as to what was going on in the class. The principal was nice to him all of a sudden and he wanted to know why he was being apologized to. He wanted to make sure that the principal no longer saw him as the culprit. It was all he wanted.

"Is there any question anyone would like to ask?" The principal asked as he started to head out of the class. No one raised a hand and as he was about to head out, Jason decided to take the bull by the horns and raised his hand.

"Yes," the principal urged him.

"What about the funds that were stolen?" Jason asked the principal. "I am very sure that you would not want the culprit to get off the hook so easily," he added.

The principal smiled. He knew Jason did not want to be accused of something so delicate as stealing funds from the school.

"Don't worry about it, Jason," the principal said. "Everything is under control."

Jason was not satisfied with the answers that the principal was giving to him. The whole class would only respect him because the principal said they should, but deep down, they would still see him as a thief.

"Please sir, can we know who the real culprit is?" Jason asked.

"You are the culprit," Cecilia said to him, attracting a piercing look from the principal. She fell quiet immediately.

"Do you all want to know who the real culprit is?" The principal asked.

"Yes sir," the whole class answered in unison. Even the English professor was eager to know who it was.

The principal dipped his hand into his pocket and took out a flash drive and showed it to the whole class.

"This drive contains a video that will show you who the real culprit is," the principal said. The whole class looked at it in anticipation.

The principal slotted the drive into the English professor's laptop immediately, so it would be visible on the projector used to teach the students.

The footage began to play immediately as the students looked on in anticipation. Their excitement heightened when they noticed some movement in the video.

The person's back was what faced the camera and it was not a boy, but a girl. They waited in anticipation as they watched on, waiting for the culprit to turn around.

They saw the person taking out all the money that was stashed away in a safe lock. The person soon turned around and the whole class was surprised at who it was. It was someone that they were not expecting to do something terrible like that. It was Cecilia.

She had her reasons and when she persisted, he let her be. She took her child with her as well, and Jason's hands were tied as he knew that their relationship was stiff at the moment. There was no need to aggravate it.“At least allow me to come with you so that I can keep an eye on you and the baby,” she offered. “I want to do this on my own. I have my reasons,” she said to him. “And before you act stupid, don't ask any of your men to follow me,” she added before she got into the waiting car. She knew however that he would not just let her go like that without company. She could already see two cars following after her at a reasonable distance, but she did not mind. She needed the protection anyway.&nb

Jason waited until it was nightfall before he headed to the safehouse where Gustavo had kept Angelina. He wanted to be as discreet as possible, and Gustavo had been high on surveillance since Jason told him what they needed to do. When they got to the safehouse, another round of surveillance was done before the door of the car was opened for him to come down. He headed to the front door and headed to the stairs that led to the basement.Angelina was tied to a chair in the relatively empty and spacious basement, and it was a bit chilly, so she was asleep. He stood at a reasonable distance before her and stared at her for a while. It was almost unbelievable to him that she was at his mercy at this time. She was supposed to be the most powerful woman in the state, but she was crippled at his mercy.“Wake her up,” he finally ordered. A bucket of wat

The meeting that Klaus called for was one that Jason did not want to attend. It was as though there was something that he harbored within him, a kind of guilt that washed over him. However, he knew that if he did not attend, Klaus would be highly suspicious because he had a fallout with Angelina. One more seat was empty when he got to the venue. It was Angelina's seat, and the table was quiet, as Siman and Rasheed were not so much of the talkers. As expected, Klaus was unhappy, but this time, he was not pacing about like one without a purpose. He was just sitting quietly, as though he was in deep thought. Jason took his seat and stayed silent as well. He did not intend to break the silence that had ensued, so he just kept his cool. “I have not seen or heard from Angelina in four days,” Klaus began. “I have sent her a ton of messages, and I cannot get to her assistant as well.” Gustavo had made sure that there was a heavy massacre in the warehouse that day. He made sure that none of A

Jason woke up with a start and looked around him. A wave of relief overshadowed him as he discovered that he was in his bedroom. He looked to the side and saw that there was a drip bag attached to his hand. As he attempted to lift his hand, a sharp pain shot through his arm and his shoulder, forcing him to let out a loud groan and fall back on the bed. He soon began to recall what had happened the previous night, and all the events came rushing back at him. It made him panic as he did not see Daphne or the baby in the bedroom with him. He struggled to get up again and pulled away the drip on his hand. He stood up and attempted to walk out. He wobbled and landed on the floor, causing a loud noise. The door opened and Gustavo walked in to help him get back on the bed. Jason closed his eyes in exhaustion. “I decided to bring you home because I did not think that you would like the attention that staying in the hospital would cause you,” Gustavo began. “That's a very good decision,” Jaso

  • Chapter 204

“First of all, I want you to start with the way you took Maxwell down,” she began, and Jason glanced at Daphne, who seemed to be listening keenly as well. She would be so disappointed. “Oh! She does not know?” Angelina asked. “Can you just stop?” Jason asked her. “So, the woman that you claim to love is not aware that you are the one that put her father in jail, and soiled her family reputation, right?” She continued. “I'm not going to say anything about that,” Jason sounded firm. He did not intend to spill, and he was not just making up his mind at the moment. He had decided not to spill anything since he left his house. He saw how desperate she was for his confession, and he wanted to use that to his advantage. “Before I say anything, I would like you to tell me what manner of business you run here,” he said as he leaned in. “My merchandise is none of your business,” she said to him. “Well, if you need my confession, then you have to explain what this business is all about because

  • Chapter 203

Jason got into the car, took a deep breath, and took out his phone to place a call to Angelina. Even though she had sent someone to monitor him as he drove to the address, she still asked him to be on a video call the entire time, to ensure that no one was in the car with him. He was getting exhausted from her rules, but he had to comply because of his family. She had proof that she was with them, and he was the only one that could rescue them. Gustavo had thought up a brilliant plan, and things were already in place, giving Jason added confidence. He was not too sure that his plan would work out, but in the end, he blamed it on the nerves. He started the car and began to drive without taking one more look at the screen, where Angelina was watching him. “You are cute by the way,” she began when the tense silence had lasted for a while. “I have envisioned you in my bed a couple of times, not gonna lie,” she continued. Jason swallowed hard at this statement. He was already disgusted. A
