She coughed lightly and her body shivered slightly, a sign of life stirring within her. Mrs. Sonya leaned forward, her eyes wide, hardly daring to believe the change unfolding before her.

Ryan felt drained of his strength. But as he watched the color return to the little girl's cheeks, a deep sense of relief washed over him.

He had made it in time.

Mrs. Sonya turned her gaze from her daughter to Ryan, searching his face for confirmation, nodding his head, a tired but genuine smile breaking through the exhaustion. "It's working," his nod seemed to say.
