Chapter 1. Is This The End of His Life?

Nordic is sinking.

Bubbles of water came out of his mouth while trying to take a breath. During that time, he tried to flap his arms and swim up. However, the intense pressure from above seemed to push his body deeper and deeper into the ocean.

The light of the land was getting dimmer longer. The Nordic are starting to lose their minds looking for ways to get out of the pressure in this ocean. He only raised his head since earlier, watching the sky with resignation.

'Why does it feel like something is pressing down on me so hard?' thought Nordic at the time.

When Nordic's body was on the verge of weakness and he was about to give up hope, faintly heard a chant.

"A beautiful world... perishes in a single darkness... darkness that penetrates souls... until everything...."

The singing voice that sounded very beautiful, and foreign. Nordic seemed to have just heard someone who has a sound similar to the strains of an orchestral instrument. The sound was so soft that Nordic felt hypnotized.

"Where do I seek immortality...among the rubble of pain..."

Amidst the darkness of the ocean, Nordic saw the shadow of something coming towards him. Nordic squinted and repeatedly tried to clarify his vision.

"Are you there...saving me from this pain..."

The longer the silhouette looks like swimming. Moving from the right side to the left side, and Nordic watched while following the swimming movement of something approaching him.

'What's that? Is this the size of a fish?' asked Nordik in his heart.

Still in silhouette, a pair of Nordic eyes only saw something like a seal's tail waving. Nordik was immediately astonished for a moment. His gaze surveyed from the tip of the tail what was in front of him now.

'Seals? Why is the size longer?'

“Huuuuu…” The soft singing sounded closer than before. As if next to the Nordic.

Wait. What song is this?

Was something swimming around the Nordic the owner of this singing voice?

For a split second, Nordic heard the chanting. Then the silhouette that initially only showed the shape of a seal's tail, now slowly showing the middle part.

Very weird. Shaped like a human waist. Increasingly clear, Nordic saw the tail is not the tail of a seal. It's a mermaid's tail!

Nordic shook his head while winking repeatedly. Shortly thereafter another similar creature appeared. Three mermaids swam around Nordic as the song grew louder.

"Human fragrance..."

Nordic heard a whisper from behind. He looked at the source of the sound, and gasped when he saw a woman's face with flowing long hair.

"Come with us. We won't hurt you."

Nordic didn't answer, nor did it give any response. At that time he could hardly believe what he witnessed. Where is a woman, an ordinary human being, without a respirator on the surface under the sea?

When Nordic accidentally lowered his gaze to trace the entire body of this woman, he was surprised to see that half of her body was a mermaid's tail.

Then Nordic got jerked and spontaneously backed off. Unfortunately something held him back.

"Don't run anywhere!" A deeper and more emphasized voice sounded.

Nordic looked forward again, saw another woman's face. But the second woman was black and glared with fiery red eyes. Her deep purple hair fluttered.

"You should stay here with us, Human..."

Nordic felt an ominous atmosphere after seeing the arrival of these two girls. His whole body tensed up as his heart beat fast.

Somehow the Nordic feeling is not good. This is so impossible. He couldn't think of any positive possibility of the two girls with mermaid tails being in the pitch black depths of the sea.

'No, it can't be…' Part of the Nordic senses tried to deny his vision now. 'Are they sirens?'

Sirens. Water creatures that are often found in Nordic fantasy readings, as well as horror films. Sirens and their songs have always been described as two inseparable things.

Why are they in the face of the Nordic now? Was Nordic having hallucinations because he was on the verge of consciousness?

"You are really interesting. Take my hand, Human." The first woman stretched out her hand to the Nordic.

Of course Nordic cannot accept. With all his might, Nordic tried to flap both hands so he could swim away. But the worst thing happened: he couldn't move at all.

Nordic swayed his body left and right. Somehow he felt like he was attached.

"Come here, Human! Come with us!"

This is not a hallucination. Sounds and forms so clear. Although the mainland's sunlight was only faint, Nordic could still see that the silhouettes of the three women around him now were not illusions.

There was no way an illusion this clear.

"Quickly accept my hand!" Suddenly the woman in front of Nordic turned into a snarl.

Nordic didn't have time to dodge when the siren in front of him suddenly grabbed his wrist. As a result, Nordic tried to pull back his hand, but his strength was actually less strong than this siren's power.

The sirens in front of Nordic are getting angrier. His mouth opened, and it was then that Nordic saw a mess of sharp teeth that gave him goosebumps. The sound of a loud shriek was deafening to the Nordic ears, surging without stopping.

'Unlucky! I will die at this rate!' Nordic cursed in her own heart.

When the situation got worse and Nordic thought he was going to die, suddenly a flash of light shot in front of his face. The Nordic instantly swam backwards. The flash of light was like fire.

Nordic glared. How can there is fire in the water?!

Before Nordic had time to digest, suddenly the siren woman's hand behind her gripped her tightly. Nordic is forced to swim away by the siren, but he tries to fight back.

Before Nordic had time to digest, suddenly the siren woman's hand behind her gripped her tightly. Nordic is forced to swim away by the siren, but he tries to fight back.

'Bastard siren!' Nordic rue in his heart.

The siren's fingernails seemed to have been deliberately pressed into the skin of the Nordic wrists. As hard as Nordic could endure the pain as drops of blood poked out.

Nordic repeatedly restrained himself from being carried away by this siren. Then, lightning somehow appeared again. Grabbed the siren's hand until it released Nordic's wrist.

As Nordic's body swayed after breaking free from the Siren's grip, he saw another silhouette. Gradually the Nordic consciousness diminished.

Nordic didn't know if something strange was running in his blood. But the sensation of pain from the point of the wrist radiated throughout his bloodstream.

Nordic vision blurred as his energy weakened. Terrible dizziness pressing on his head. The last thing Nordic saw was a fully human form, not a siren, approaching him.

In the last breath, Nordic just laughed sinisterly. Is this the end of his ridiculous life?
