Chapter 1
Betrayal
A sleek black car drove into an opulent compound.
People were already gathered there in the compound to welcome the person that had just arrived. The air was thick with anticipation as the car came to a halt. The front seat door opened and a middle-aged man stepped outside and swiftly made his way to the passenger's seat. He pulled the door open and immediately bowed down his head as he waited patiently for the individual inside the car to step outside. A few moments later, a striking young man emerged from the car. The man seemed to be in his early twenties. Curly brown hair that was neatly combed, and he was clad in an expensive brown suit. The aura around the man was filled with confidence, as he stepped down from the car, noise erupted in the compound. Journalists and paparazzi swiftly made their way towards him, each and everyone of them eager to ask him some questions. "Mr. Zed, it's so good to see you here. I heard you are finally done with the creation of your first automatic car, what do you have to say about this?" A female reporter spoke up, and her microphone stretched forth. "What was the most challenging aspect in creating the car and what do you have for young aspiring engineers out there?" The man, known as Zed, paid no attention to their questions as he kept advancing forward, heading towards the opulent building a few meters away. Zed was a young inventor who specialized in creating cars and other means of transportation like aircrafts, ships, choppers, and war machines. He works for the biggest company in the city of Sunderland known as The Eclipse industry, and so far he has been the reason why the company was still on top. Everyone was gathered here at the Eclipse industries to witness the first ever automatic car made by Zed. Zed has been announcing on the news for a few years now that he was working on a project. A type of project that hasn't been seen or heard by anyone. Finally, he succeeded in creating the car, and now they have all gathered here to watch him test it and also put it up for sale for billionaires to auction for it. As Zed walked towards the entrance, he slid his right hand into his pocket and pulled out a small red box. He opened the box and a small shiny ring could be seen sitting in there. "This is a very special day for me. But it won't be complete if I don't give her this ring. I will finally propose to her." Zed grinned as he closed the box and placed it back in his pocket. Zed pushed the entrance door open and walked into the headquarters. He attempted to walk forward but two men appeared in front of him and blocked his path. The men had broad shoulders and bulky muscles, and were both clad in black suits. "Good afternoon, gentlemen." Zed greeted, attempting to walk past them but they blocked his path. "I'm afraid you are not welcome here. Please turn around and leave this place to avoid embarrassment." One of the guards spoke in a deep and mature tone. Zed was taken aback after hearing the words of the man, and a puzzled expression appeared on his face. "W-what are you talking about?" He muttered. "There must be a mistake somehow. Out of my way, I have an appointment soon." Zed frowned as he tried walking forward but the guards didn't move. "Are you deaf? I said you are not allowed in here so kindly back away or we'll be forced to throw you out!" The guard spat, his tone filled with disdain as he glared at Zed. Zed still had no idea what was going on right now. He works in the Eclipse industries, and he was also the reason why everyone gathered here this afternoon. So what does the guard mean by he wasn't allowed. Zed opened his mouth to speak, but before he could utter a word a cool male's voice rang out. "You heard the man, didn't you, Zed?" A man in white suit and gray hair walked towards them. The man was known as Mr. Damien. The CEO of the Eclipse industries. "What's going on, Mr. Damien? This is a joke, right?" Zed muttered. "Nothing is a joke here, kid. Your contact with Eclipse industries has been terminated today, so please leave here at once!" Mr. Damien voiced out. The words of Mr. Damien pierced Zed in the heart like a dagger, and he staggered backwards and almost lost balance. His expression was filled with both shock and disbelief, and it felt like his whole world was crashing down. "What... What do you mean, sir?" He muttered in a soft tone. "You heard me right, Zed. Your services are no longer needed here so we had to terminate your contract." Mr. Damien responded. "But..what did I do? I've always been so hard-working to make sure the company remains at the top.. you can't just terminate my contract without giving me a valid reason." Zed bellowed, pain and betrayal laced in his voice. "Like I said, we no longer need your services, we have to let you go. And besides, we already found someone better, someone with a lot of experience and he is more suitable for the job." Mr. Damien explained audibly. "So you are just going to fire me because you found someone else? After all I've done for you and your company this is how you choose to repay me?!" Zed finally lost it and he voiced out in anger. "What about the automatic car I made? If you are going to fire me then I guess I should leave with my own creation." Zed added, his face bright red in anger. Zed has been working in the Eclipse industries for many years now, and it was his only source of income. If he should leave the company he would have no job or money to survive. However, if he could sell the automatic car to the highest bidder, he could get enough money to start up a business of his own. "The car you claim to be yours was created with the company's equipment and money. It is also registered under the company's name so it legally belongs to me." Mr. Damien responded with a mischievous smirk on his face. Hearing the words of Mr. Damien, Zed's blood boiled in anger and he clenched his fists tightly.Expand

Trillionaire's POV: Obtaining $10,000,000 per quest This wasn't the agreement
The woman approached Zed and placed the documents on the table in front of him, neatly aligning them before setting the pen beside the stack."Those are the documents you need to sign, Zed. Since you're in a hurry, go ahead and sign them so we can get this over with," Miss Jessica bellowed, placing a cigarette between her lips. She took a long, leisurely drag before slowly exhaling a thick cloud of smoke that drifted lazily toward the ceiling.Zed cast a sharp glance in her direction, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched her. Then, with a subtle shift in his posture, he turned his gaze to the documents laid before him. Leaning forward, he picked up the pen and began to examine the papers. His eyes moved methodically across the text, scanning line after line. From the content so far, he understood that once he signed, Miss Jessica would become the new owner of the mall. That was their agreement—he had no issue with that. But as he continued to read, a frown slowly formed on his fa

Trillionaire's POV: Obtaining $10,000,000 per quest Meeting Miss Jessica
Zed halted his steps the very moment he stepped out of the car, his eyes narrowing sharply as they locked onto the duo approaching him. Both men stood at a towering six feet tall, with muscles that rivaled professional wrestlers—bulging, firm, and intimidating. Their expressions were stone-cold, carved with menace, and each of them held a firearm as naturally as if it were part of their body. They marched forward like soldiers bred for nothing but bloodshed. When they were just a few paces from Zed, they came to an abrupt halt, boots pressing into the gravel with calculated authority. One of the men glared at Zed for a tense moment before finally speaking."What brings you here?" he asked, his voice deep, gravelly, and laced with quiet threat.Zed cleared his throat, straightening his posture slightly."My name is Zed. I spoke to Miss Jessica not too long ago. She gave me this address and asked me to meet her here," he replied, tone composed but firm.Upon hearing this, the man shift

Lucas halted his steps as he pulled out his phone and glanced at the screen. A slight furrow formed between his brows when he saw the name flashing across it.It was his boss—Santiago.Lucas stared at the name for a few moments, his eyes narrowing as he tried to figure out the reason for the unexpected call. The street he stood on was dimly lit and eerily quiet, with only the occasional flicker of a faulty streetlamp above. He glanced around warily to ensure he was alone before answering.“Hello, Boss,” he said in a low, cautious tone once the call connected.“Lucas... it’s been a long while,” Santiago’s deep voice echoed through the speaker.“You know you’re not supposed to be calling me, right?” Lucas muttered, keeping his voice hushed as his eyes darted around the shadows. “What if someone was beside me? You’re going to get me caught.”“I’m just calling to ask if you’ve seen the news recently,” Santiago said, ignoring Lucas’s concern, his tone laced with urgency.“You mean the thin

Trillionaire's POV: Obtaining $10,000,000 per quest Spreading like wild fire
"I need your help, Lucas," Zed began, his voice low but urgent. "There's a place I have to be tonight. I don’t trust the person who invited me. It’s dangerous to go alone... and I need you to come with me.""I see," Lucas muttered thoughtfully. "What place, if I may ask? And at this hour of the night?"Zed exhaled deeply, his breath shaky. "It’s a long story, so I’ll skip the unnecessary details and go straight to the point. A woman I apparently offended weeks ago by buying a mall she had her eyes on just kidnapped Kimberly. Turns out, this woman leads a gang—and she’s extremely dangerous. To release Kimberly, she’s demanding that I come over to her territory and sign over the mall to her for free. So yeah... I’m going over there to sign the documents in exchange for Kimberly’s release. She claims she won’t harm me once I sign and that she’ll let me walk away. But honestly... I don’t believe a word she says. That’s why I called you."Lucas fell silent for a few seconds before respondi

Trillionaire's POV: Obtaining $10,000,000 per quest I don't trust you
“Oh, please, Zed. Spare me that.” Miss Jessica scoffed after hearing Zed’s words, her voice dripping with disdain. “What are you going to do? You’re just a common engineer, after all. You have no idea what goes on in the underworld—how things work. And yet you dare threaten me?”Zed stood still for a few moments, silent, the weight of her words hanging in the air like a noose tightening around his throat. He exhaled heavily, running a trembling hand through his damp hair before finally speaking in a low, tense voice.“What do you want?”“I want what you stole from me. The mall... I want it back,” she snapped without hesitation.“I’ll sell the mall to you. Just let her go,” Zed bellowed, his voice thick with desperation and fury.“Sell? What do you mean sell it to me?” Miss Jessica asked, her tone suddenly amused, laced with a chilling mischief that made Zed’s skin crawl.“What? Isn’t that what you want?” Zed replied, confusion clouding his expression as his brows furrowed.“I said I w
