William and Alison still sat at their table, whispering and casting glances around.

William's face was flushed with anger and his fists clenched beneath the table. He couldn’t believe the twist of fate that has made Jason, a former mechanic, the new CEO of Montgomery Enterprise.

The horror of this revelation washed over him like a tidal wave, and he struggled to regain his composure.

Jason, however, maintained a calm and authoritative presence. He stood near their table with his posture erect, exuding the air of a man who has come into his own.

Jason watched William's visible turmoil with a smug sense of satisfaction. He knew that the tables had turned in their relationship, and now, it's he who held all the power.

The time had come for Jason to unveil the truth behind his sudden rise to power.

He sat beside and leaned in closer to William with his voice low and measured, ensuring that only William can hear him over the ambient sounds of the restaurant.

"William," he began with his voice filled with a mix of politeness and assertiveness, "I think it's time you understand how I came to be the owner of Montgomery Enterprise."

William, who had been checking his phone and trying to process everything, now gave Jason his full attention, though the attention was full of scorn and a dose of skepticism.

He was ready to dismiss Jason's claims as a mere illusion, some sort of elaborate prank.

"Go ahead," William retorted with his tone laced with sarcasm. "I'm all ears and I can't wait to hear this fantastic story of yours."

Jason's lips curled into a sarcastic smile, appreciating the irony in William's words. "You sold the majority of your company's shares to Montgomery Enterprise ," he stated calmly.

“No shit Sherlock,” William retorted sarcastically while rolling his eyes. “The question remains how did you suddenly become the CEO of Montgomery Enterprise?” He continued.

“I’m glad you asked William. I became the CEO of Montgomery Enterprises all thanks to my late dad who left his entire wealth to me.” Jason said with a smirk.

William's eyes widened with shock as he processed Jason's words. The restaurant's clinking glasses and quiet chatter formed a distant backdrop to this dramatic moment.

His face twisted with a mixture of rage and humiliation. The revelation felt like a slap in the face, a cold bucket of water awakening him to the harsh reality.

With a sudden burst of anger, William slammed his fist onto the table, causing nearby diners to pause and glance in their direction.

His voice rung out louder than he intended, filled with fury. "You must be kidding me! You expect me to believe that your father was the original owner of Montogomery? You, a mechanic!"

Jason's response was firm but composed. "Believe what you will, William. The truth remains. I am the new owner of Montgomery Enterprise, and you, my friend, now work for me."

The tension in the restaurant had grown evident, with many diners casting curious and concerned looks their way.

The clash of wills between Jason and William had become a spectacle.

Meanwhile, Alison, though equally stunned, tried to hide her emotions behind a façade of indifference.

She was envious and scornful of Jason's newfound status but attempted to maintain her composure.

As the tense standoff between Jason and William continued, it was clear that William's denial was crumbling under the weight of evidence.

His initial rage was giving way to something more profound—shock and resignation.

Meanwhile, the onlookers in the restaurant couldn’t help but eavesdrop on the dramatic scene playing out at William and Alison's table.

Never once losing his calm demeanor, Jason knew that words alone won't convince William.

He reached into his inner jacket pocket and pulled out a set of legal documents. These papers included the will of his father and the official transfer of shares.

With a confident gesture, Jason slid the documents across the table toward William.

"Here," Jason said firmly, with his voice never wavering. "You can examine these yourself, William."

William hesitated for a moment, still reeling from the revelation, and took the documents into his trembling hands.

He began to read through them, and it was clear that the shock of the situation was finally setting in.

The legal language was crystal clear—Jason is the new CEO of Montgomery Enterprise and now the owner of the majority shares of William’s company.

As William continued to scan the documents, his face underwent a transformation.

The initial rage and denial that had filled his expression gradually gave way to the realization that he's backed into a corner. He has indeed sold off his shares, and it is no joke.

A mixture of frustration, self-reproach, and embarrassment coursed through William. His fists, once clenched with anger, now fell limp onto the table.

He knew that he couldn’t dispute the authenticity of these documents, and a sense of powerlessness took hold of him.

Alison, who had been an uneasy observer of the entire scene, watched her William’s reaction with mixed emotions.

She's surprised at the magnitude of William's blunder. Inwardly, she's also envious and scornful of Jason's rise to power. She thinks about how she might have made a mistake divorcing Jason.

However, her poise remained intact, and she offered no obvious reaction.

The diners in the restaurant who had been eavesdropping and stealing glances at the unfolding drama, now returned to their own conversations.

The tension in the air had lessened somewhat, but the aftermath of this confrontation is far from over.

The shock and resignation that had washed over William were clear signs that he's beginning to grasp the reality of the situation.

The power dynamic between him and Jason had shifted drastically and Jason was ready to use this to his advantage.
