Chapter 8.1: How to kill a knight 1

"Hey" Dex shock Vex who just stood there staring at Tristans hand.

Vex jaw clenched as the aching shoulder snapped him back to reality but he couldn't even fake a smile as he looked at Tristan for a moment.

His face expressionless for momentarily then he reached out and shock his hand with a lackluster smile.

"You don't seem happy about getting to know each other" Tristan spoke leaning closer to Vex.

'Him being a knight changes nothing' Vex smile faded as he stepped back and spoke with a even tone "It's my pleasure meet you"

Tristan smiled tightening his grip on Vex hand yet Vex expression never changed.

"I hope so" Tristan let go of Vex and turned to Leto while Vex unclenched his jaw.

"Ok then lets go" Leto spoke turning to the hallway on the left side of the stairs, the introductions where over before they even began, Leto's noble friends had no interest in knowing commoners and Vex friends had no interest in knowing them.

As such as they walked down the hallway passing through the white marble corridors two groups formed, Leto and his friends walked at front while Vex and his friends walked at the back with enough space between each other.

'I have to separate them' Vex with slightly narrowed eyes stared at Tristan as they walked 'its already suicide fighting one of them, fighting two of them isn't an option'

''Yho lets say you actually succeed whats the escape plan?" Dex spoke as they turned left.

"Im planning on going to Renè academy if everything goes well" Vex spoke his eyes glued to Tristan 'I have to make a formation first then I'll head for Tristan'

''That wasn't the question Vex, whats the plan to escape this place" Leo spoke.

'First I should get a weapon' he turned to Dex and Leo "I have it all figured out so don't worry we'll make it out" he spoke with that smile of his that barely moved his cheeks.

He looked at Dex and spoke in a sympathetic tone "are you not worried about the captain?"

Silence lingered in the air for a moment between them before Dex spoke with a smile "the old man said he's planning to run away when it gets serious, so I don't need to worry about him"

"I see, whats the plan after we escape?" Vex glanced at Leto's group.

"Im leaving the kingdom and going to the federation" Dex smiled rubbing the back of his head "the old man said we should meet there in one year"

Vex smiled back and with a heavy heart spoke "I'll make sure we get out of this alive"

"Sure man" Dex spoke as they stopped walking.

Leto stood in front of a silver double door with no key hole just door handles.

'Should I try taking a sword from the armoury or try a kitchen knife' he sighed looking up the lights ingrained into the ceiling as Leto placed his hand on the door.

The doors lit green for a moment at the frames and Leto smiled looking back at them "get ready boys"

As the doors opened Dex and Leo eyes widened looking inside, armoured statues stood ten feet apart with sword on the wall behind display glasses.

They stepped inside and no one couldn't see the ceiling as they looked up at the rotation of blades that hung behind the display glass and lights flouting at the top.

But it wasn't simply swords and armour in the room as some books lay between the rows of sword each with different names but all had swords on their covers.

Letos smile widened as they looked around saying nothing "what do you think?"

No one had any words as they looked then, Tristan spoke looking up "this is all yours?"

'This looks like a family vault, its just missing artifacts' Vex looked at one statue armour that held a book 'these must be sword techniques passed through generations'

"Yes it my section of the vault" Vex gaze turned to Leto "dad said its my armoury but the stronger I get the more sections open up"

"How big is your family vault?" The boy in a red asked the question they were all thinking, even with light flouting above their head they doubted if the was a ceiling ignoring the distance between the walls.

"Dad says it's bigger than the palace because every family head throughout generations always add something" Leto spoke looking at crimson armour that held a sword thrusted down.

"So are these books sword techniques?" Tristan spoke.

Leto just nodded "it nothing impressive, the techniques in here are at my skill level or one star above"

'The vault must limit what one can see according to their strength' Vex moved to the doors as they walked around 'that must be why the duke left the vault unguarded as if it any room in the house'

'First you need to be a registered bloodline member to open the vault and even with that you can never see the family core techniques if your not strong enough' he looked to Leto as he stood at the doors "Sir Leto are these bloodline weapons"

Leto nodded staring at the crimson armour.

'Since the only person that can use these weapons is Leto or Duke Ramsey, I should go to the kitchen' Vex stepped outside the vault and walked off as Tristan's gaze turned to the doors.

'Leto is an adopted child, who's still new to nobility' Vex bit down his thumb as he rushed through the hallway 'while Tristan is a different story'

'And since he is already an aura user at fifteen he must be the son of viscount Zen' he felt the blood flowing in his mouth and pulled his thumb out 'he the only person other than the duke who has the resources to make an aura user'

'Since I haven't heard any stories about another teenage knight' Vex walked past ragged teens with a bleeding thumb 'the duke hasn't knighted him'

He finally stepped into the living room and rushed past the stairs to the hallway on the right glancing back.

'As such he should be eager to prove himself' he rushed through the palace walls 'and knowing about bloodline weapons and how few people outside nobility know about them, he'll definitely take this as a chance'

He glanced back passing other boys 'there is no guarantee he'll take the bait but its better than nothing'

He stepped into the kitchen and unlike the palace walls, its walls were grey and the floor black marble.

Vex ignored the boys in the room as he moved to the right wall and wrote symbols in blood climbing on cabinets.

Everyone stared at him then, he moved to the left wall and did the same climbing over the stoves.

Once done he looked at the other two walls, unlike the written walls the one at front had tall cabinets and wall mounted cabinets while the one behind was the only entrance into the kitchen and had fridges on both sides of the wall.

"Did he loose his mind?" One asked...

"This is not his home should we stop him?" Another spoke...

"Im not messing with a mad man and I also heard he's a mercenary so fight him alone" someone scorned

"Someone call Leto" Someone yelled looking back..

"What if he is a cultists...

"Yeah look at those tatto...

...

.

Vex stood up as he looked at symbols writen around the cabinet at the center of the kitchen 'there's no going back'

He rushed to the cabinets and took out the knives, he opened the ovens throwing the knives inside while only keeping one of the knives under the his clothes.

His gaze turned to the hallway that was filled with boys staring at him 'although it isn't perfect it should be enough'

'And since the doors can't be opened from inside, I won't have worry about them trying to get help' He walked toward the boys at the hallway

"move back!" one of boys at front shouted as Vex stepped closer "move!"

But despite how much they shouted the people at the back didn't move much and Vex smiled as he stood in front of the boy at front, he was the same size of Dex.

"What is it you punk, want to go?" The boy raised his hands looking down at Vex, who stood in front of him with a smile.

As some stepped back giving them some room, nothing happened.

Vex stood there smiling and the boy lowed his arms slightly after a while others spoke "he must be scared"....

''Yeah look at how big he is, I would be scared if he stood in front of me haha.." another commented

''He was just acting crazy we don't need to be afraid of him" another...

"What a disappointment I thou....

As the their murmurs filled the air, the boy that stood in front of Vex lowed his guard and spoke "fuck man never d...kurk"

Before the boy could finish Vex slit his throat, the boy moved his hand to his neck to slow down the bleeding but

as he grabbed his neck Vex stabbed him 24 times while the other stood there frozen as he puked blood while gushing blood from his stomach.

'Its not personal buddy' with cold gaze he turned to others that still stood there frozen as if wondering how something that they thought was joke had turned into this then.
