1. An Unlimited Black Card

"Don't you have a brain? Everything you wrote in this report is wrong!"

Warrick Rauveron closed his eyes as Jeff, the sales team leader, threw the report document in his face. Everyone in the room immediately turned their heads, gasping in shock.

Everyone in the Republic of Radix knew Rauveron, one of the most powerful conglomerate families. And Warrick was the Rauveron family's first son.

Unfortunately, Warrick was disregarded by his family because he was not a genius like his stepbrother, Zayden Rauveron.

Everyone recognized Warrick as a weak and stupid young master. Because of his low status within the Rauveron family, he stuck as a salesman, whereas Zayden rose to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

"Do you want me to report this to your father?" Jeff threatened, his arms crossed across his chest.

"N-no, I don't. Please forgive me," Warrick finally said something. His hands were trembling as he continued to beg Jeff.

It was an open secret that Ernest, the head of the Rauveron family, considered Warrick a disgrace. If Ernest discovered that his useless son was causing trouble, he would be enraged and throw Warrick out.

"Because I've been working a lot of overtime recently, I accidentally made a mistake in the sales report," Warrick explained, hoping Jeff would understand his situation. "Please forgive me just this once!"

Nonetheless, no matter how much Warrick begged, Jeff had no intention of giving him a second chance. As Warrick begged him, the sales team leader smirked.

"You're a disgrace to the Rauveron family! You should look at Zayden. At his young age, he could be the Chief Financial Officer!"

Silently, Warrick gritted his teeth. Although he was very upset, he managed to hide his feelings well. No one noticed the fleeting change in his expression.

"What are you waiting for?" Jeff growled in annoyance as he pushed Warrick to the floor. "Get the hell out of here! Starting tomorrow, you don't have to go to the office anymore!"

Feeling angry and humiliated, Warrick chose to give up on his job. After all, it was pointless to argue with Jeff since the team leader was determined to fire him.

Warrick got up from the floor and walked out while the other workers looked at him mockingly. They must have been happy to see the son of a famous family receive such humiliation.

When Warrick was in the office lobby, he was approached by Zayden.

"Isn't it not break time yet? What happened? Let me know if you're having a hard time. I'll help you," Zayden spoke, showing a worried face.

Anyone else might have been fooled by Zayden's expression but not with Warrick. After so many years of living together, Warrick had learned about his brother's genuine character.

Zayden was always courteous in public. He is, nonetheless, the most cunning person you will ever meet. He was the mastermind behind the mistakes in Warrick's sales report.

To get rid of Warrick's remaining inheritance rights, Zayden's first step was to make his brother's life miserable.

"You haven't answered me yet," Zayden spoke again in a fake anxious tone.

Warrick smiled. "Thank you for your concern, Zay. I don't want to disturb you, so I'll solve my problems alone."

"Alright. Don't hesitate to call me if you need help."

Zayden patted Warrick on the shoulder before walking away. The friendly expression instantly disappeared from his face.

He thought, 'Well, enjoy your time because you will be ruined before you can solve your problems.'

Meanwhile, Warrick returned home on his old motorcycle. He arrived at a small house in the suburbs of Cordyline City.

In that small house, he lived with Aelish, his wife. They had been married for three years due to an arranged marriage.

Aelish came from the Chafort family, who owned the largest entertainment company in the country. She was the child of a mistress.

Ernest deliberately married Warrick to Aelish to emphasize that he did not recognize his first son. Zayden, on the other hand, married the only daughter of an influential family.

No one knew for sure why Ernest hated Warrick so much. Most people assumed he did it under the influence of Renata, his second wife, Zayden's mother.

"I'm home."

Warrick sluggishly opened the door. It was still daylight, and Aelish was working, so she was not home to greet him.

He dashed to the kitchen, hungry. He opened the fridge to see a chocolate cake with the words 'Happy Birthday' inscribed.

"Did Aelish make this for me? I even forgot that today is my birthday."

The cake made Warrick's mood change slightly. He took it from the refrigerator and looked at it for a long time.

Today, he was twenty-five years old. If his calculation was not wrong, 'it' should have appeared by now.

"Am I a fool for believing that? But I'm sure I'm not hallucinating that time."

Warrick continued to wonder while staring at the birthday cake. A 'ding' sound was heard momentarily, and a notification window appeared in the air.

"Woah, Lord Zegther really kept his promise!"

When Warrick was fifteen, he experienced a car accident that left his mother dead.

At that time, he was in a coma for three months. Zegther, the God of Justice, came into his dreams every day and informed him that the accident was planned by someone.

Zegther required Warrick to pretend weak for ten years to test his patience and determination. If he was successful, Zegther promised to offer him a system and blessings from other deities.

The reason Zegther came to Warrick's dream was because Grace Vernidras, Warrick's mother, was one of his loyal devotees. When Grace prayed, she never desired for herself and instead begged for her son.

Warrick initially did not believe it, even though he recognized Zegther from his mother. People in this country had abandoned belief in deities long ago.

But he still believed them because of his mother. As time went on, he began to believe Zegther in his dreams. It was because Zegther told him of his mother's kindnesses to him, which no one else knew about.

"Starting today...," Warrick stared straight at the system window, "I will destroy anyone who stands in the way of my revenge!"

The first thing Warrick did was check a black card that suddenly appeared in his hand. He had never held a black card before, but he could tell this was real.

The card Warrick held now was different from his plastic bank card. This card, when he had it, felt strong and exclusive.

Warrick had heard that black cards were made of titanium. The card's design was also exclusive, featuring diamonds and gold. He touched the gold engraving of his name in amazement.

"Th-This card has no limit. What am I going to do with all this money?"

Warrick held his black card with trembling hands. Although he was part of the Rauveron family, his father never gave him much money. This was the first time he held such an exclusive item as a black card.

"Calm yourself, Warrick. You don't need to be nervous. This is just the beginning. In the future, you will get more money to take revenge on the people who hurt your mother and humiliated you!"

Warrick clenched his fists. He was determined to change. After all the humiliation, it was time to rise and take revenge. Everyone who looked down on him would regret it.
