Quin recognized the Manager as soon as he saw him. “Is that not the manager you just mentioned?” He asked, pointing at the middle-aged man in a shiny black suit.

The storekeeper could no longer speak, seeing that she could no longer find any better lies to tell.

“I wonder what you are up to,” Quin said with a smirk on his face before he turned to look at the Manager who was a few meters close to him.

“What a pleasant, Mr. Quin!” The manager was very happy to see Quin, extending his hand for a handshake. “I didn’t know that you were coming to our store, I would have made special arrangements for the best outfits we have in this store.” He managed, and then he slowly pulled his hand away from the handshake.

“I am only here with a friend,” Quin said calmly, struggling to hold onto the smile on his face.

“It doesn’t matter, Mr. Quin. I could still make the arrangement, I promise that it won’t take a lot of time. Just say the word.” The Manager insisted, showcasing readiness to do whate

Everyone turned to face Quin. But instead of giving the reaction that someone who was wrongfully accused would give normally, he seemed very much unflustered at that moment. “I think you should ask him how he knows about all of this! Ask him!” Hilda continued to point her accusing finger at him while everyone kept their eyes on him. He was expected to react to the accusation, but when Prince Darrell saw that he didn’t seem bothered, he had to approach him slowly. “Why are you quiet, Quin? Don’t you have anything to say about what she has accused you of?” He asked, but his utterance made Quin very angry with him. “It’s such a pity that you would ask me such a question, Prince Darrell. I am sure you heard the confession of these Doctors.” Quin pointed at the Doctors on their knees while he was looking at the Prince with an unpleased expression on his face. Prince Darrell bent his face to the ground, and he only lifted it when he had managed to get a grip on himself. “I sinc

While Hilda was still struggling to free herself from the clutches of the maidens who were holding onto her, Quin walked up to the Doctors with so much delight etched on his face.Without being told, the Doctors already knew that they were in a lot of trouble, and the only plan they had was to start begging.“We know we wronged you in the past, Quin! But we were not in our right senses! Please don’t take this to heart!” The Doctor in the middle pleaded with a shaky breath. He was the youngest among the three Doctors who were on their knees, and the situation seemed to be too much for him to handle.“Please, Quin! Don’t hurt us! Don’t hurt me!” He continued to be, moving backward while he kept his eyes on Quin. “I swear! I didn’t mean to do it, but they forced me to!” The Doctor pointed at his cohorts, and they gasped at how selfish and easy to break he was. The two other Doctors saw that it was either they spoke up for themselves or they could be in a lot of trouble. They decided to

Hilda returned her gaze to her husband when she realized that her attempt to take the plate of soup from him was not going to be fruitful. “Darrell? Tell him to give it back!” “That’s not going to happen,” Quin spoke out before the Prince could get to say even a word. “There must be a reason why you are so insistent on feeding the Queen, and I am going to find out.” Quin dropped the plate on one of the tables in the room.Hilda panicked. “Are you going to just stand there and watch him disrespect me?” She said to her husband. “Just let him do what he wants, Hilda.” Prince Darrell had already seen enough reason to trust Quin. Right from when he saw what he did with the salt, he was convinced that he was the only one who could save his mother’s life. “What did you just say, Darrell? Are you saying that you are picking sides with that fake Doctor over me?” Hilda asked with a disappointed tone, but the Prince was tired of speaking. “Just let him do his work, Hilda. I beg you.”“No!”

Quin was silent for a while, and then he turned to Frank with a stern look on his face. “Do you agree to this?”“Yes, Doctor Quin!” Frank responded at once and Quin nodded.“Okay, you better get going.” He said and the King’s advisor left in a hurry. “That’s settled then! You can get to work!” Prince Darrell seemed to be in a hurry, but again he had offended Quin with the way he spoke to him.“I am sorry, please…” He apologized after seeing the way he looked at him. Quin turned to the poor Queen, and because he felt so much pity for her, he proceeded to make the herb that was going to cure her.Slowly, he started mixing the herbs, but he was still in the process when he heard footsteps approaching, indicating that someone was walking into the room.It was the Prince’s wife, Princess Hilda, and she came in alongside a maiden who was carrying a tray.Inside the tray was a plate filled with soup, and a glass of water was beside it. Quin and Hilda never talked even though he had seen h

Quin waited until the Prince was able to get a grip on himself, and then he proceeded to break his silence. “That’s the effects of the toxin inside your mother, Prince Darrell. I am going to show you that she was poisoned just like I said.” Quin grabbed a pinch of salt, and then he poured all of it on the cut on the Queen’s arm. There was a sudden reaction that made Prince Darrell’s eyes widen in disbelief. “What’s going on?” He asked, and Quin turned to him.“That’s the poison reacting to the salt, Prince Darrell. Now watch this…” Quin grabbed the bowl of water and poured a little on the cut. Instantly, the white substance gushing and foaming out from the cut vanished, and pure blood began to flow slowly. “I am sure you saw that, Prince Darrell.” Quin stood up from the bed while he was still looking at the Prince who didn’t know what to say,“Someone poisoned the Queen, and you need to find out who did this. Whoever it was has been making sure that she had a good dosage of the to

The prince was already waiting for them to arrive, pacing from one part of the courtyard to the other with his hands clasped behind him. Prince Darrell Renton was a handsome young man with long curly black hair that he fancied to braid often. His ravishing skin was one of his most attractive features, including his blue eyes that glittered like the sea. He was married to the daughter of the Mayor of Brightwood City, an arrangement that was made to strengthen the union between the two cities that had been at war for years. His wife Hilda was an epitome of beauty, but she lacked sympathy, and the only thing that mattered to her was authority and spending lavishly. As soon as Darrell saw Quin approaching, a heavy sigh erupted from him and he started moving toward him at once, unable to kick against the urge. “I have been waiting for you, Doctor Quin. Welcome, and thank you so much for coming on such short notice.” He was glad, but Quin refused to reciprocate the smile on his face.
