Chapter 1

CH-0001

Screams.

"Pervert!"

Emily grappled to the bed sheet, stumping out from the bed with a face widened with shock.

"Did you dare to touch me last night?" She growled at the young man lying on the bed.

"Wow, what a pretty way of saying good morning and thank you for last night!" Quinn face ran cold.

"Did you?" Emily's brows twitched.

"Why should I? There's nothing to amuse me with."

Emily bubbled with rage. She was the gem of the Eastside city and also the heiress of the fastest-rising company in the city.

Men would lurk after her like ants to sugar from afar, it would be a dying wish to even lay on the same bed with her.

Yet, some farm-looking boy just discarded her like a heap load of garbage. It was difficult to point out what she was angry at, his comment or the fact that she could sense that she had been taken advantage of.

"You're not only a pervert but also irresponsible?" Her eyes popped up.

"Getting drunk and ending up in a room that isn't yours? A well thought out definition of responsible."

A bitter sensation rose through Emily's throat. Looking around the room, only to realize that she had ended up somewhere else in her drunken state.

Her body stiffened. Her hands tightened.

'If Grandpa had not announced to me that I had been match maked with some trash from only God knows where, I would never have ended up in this situation.

It's all the fault of that fool?' She thought in rising rage.

"That still does not give you the right to touch me. I'm going to make sure that you never look at another woman's way again."

"Sure. Go ahead." Quinin remained unfazed by her words.

He didn't say any further because he wasn't given the slightest chance to plead his case.

His non-chanlance caused Emily's rage and embarrassment to surge through her throat. Trying to get back at him would get the words about their encounter out and letting him go scout-free was going to be a dint on her ego.

She racked her brain. She might never see him again. But if the news slipped through the four walls of this place, it was going to make a headline.

Her phone rang, saving her from the embarrassment and the awkwardness.

"We are just going to pretend like this never happened between us!" She flashed, stomping her foot off from the room.

Quinn shook his head. The first lady that he gets to meet in this town turns out to be an arrogant one. When her looks were only average.

If only she had calmed down enough to listen that he had done nothing to her and she had sneaked into bed later that night.

Brushing off the issue, he quickly got dressed. A little paper was evident in his hands.

The command from his master after disappearing for three years.

"I owe a favor to the Famous family. And we matched made you with Emily Famous.

You're to go to Eastside and fulfill this promise. And while I am gone, you're to fill in for me in my duties of protecting the Famous family.

If you make any mistake, I'm going to break your neck when I am back!" The stern words of the note read.

Quinin squeezed the paper tightly. 'First disappearing for three years, pretending like you had been kidnapped and leaving me to fend for myself. And now, sending me on errands.'

Someone else in this case might not have lived. But not when it was coming from one of the most important persons in his life.

Five years ago, his Uncle and his mentor saved him from the brink of death. He was forced out of the city and stayed and trained with his mentor while his Uncle remained in the city to be taken care of on his own accord.

Quinin owed his mentor too much and would not dare to disobey.

"Besides, I get to see Uncle after such a long time apart."

He walked briefly outside the hotel. Hateful glares and perplexed gazes eating into his back.

He got into the cab straight to the city's mall. After such a long time, he needed to get something for his uncle at least.

At the same time he got out of the car, a new Range Rover stopped at the spot and a stunning lady stepped out, full of grace.

A small crowd had gathered to marvel at the astonishing beauty of Lady Emily, one of the finest of Eastside.

"She looks like the ray of morning sun. A breath of fresh air."

The man that would have her is going to be so Lucky." They all praised. However, her eyes were deadlocked at someone else. Someone that caused her stomach to twist.

"You!" The vines on her neck popped at her growls.

Everyone's attention was now focused on the farm boy.

"Who is he?" The small crowd that had gathered inquired.

"As long as he is way out of the league of my beautiful Emily, I don't care."

"Do you know him?" Victoria and Tina, standing close to Emily, inquired.

"He's the guy I told you all about." Her face flashed with a glim expression.

"He's trailing you?" They frowned collectively.

With anger in her steps, Emily walked over to Quinin.

"What's the meaning of this? Trailing me now?" Her brows were raised slightly.

"Don't think too highly of yourself Miss. I came here for a totally different reason."

"Oh! Is that so?" Her voice dripped cold with sarcasm.

"Then tell me why it had to be my personal mall of all places and at the time I usually visit weekly." The frown deepened into her face.

Before she could get the response that she wanted, a voice sounded from behind them.

"Seems someone is giving my princess a little trouble." A new sports car that caught the attention of everyone stepped right into the place.

An average-looking young man stepped forward. No other than one of Emily's admirers, and the richest of them all.

Kelly James.

"Don't worry. Dealing with dogs like him is a passion for me, Emily." He said smoothly.

But when his gaze returned to Quinin, who remained standing with a straight face, the devil from within was revealed in his mere looks.
