"magic, supernatural abilities, superpowers, talents, quirks... we call it many things depending on where we come from, what we learned and how it rolls off the tongue.

Those who have it cultivate it and integrate into their daily lives, those who don't have it sometimes study it, but the question that is asked on both sides is the question of its origin. hardly anyone in the world knows the origin of this thing we call 'magic' people have studied and searched but to no avail. there is no culture on earth that has any records of its origin. this was baffling to the archeologists, something that was so significant had no story that spoke of its origin.

Human beings have searched without rest for an answer that I have. all they have to do is ask any priest but they don't want 'superstitious' answers. what they do not understand is that those 'superstitious' answers are true facts so they wallow in their answerless search."

"I KNOW THE ORIGIN, I KNOW THE ROOT."

My visions tell me of a time without magic. A time when technology was so advanced that it made our current time look primitive.

It tells me of the great mistake men made that caused their technology to turn against them.

It shows me that technology being robbed from them, and then it shows me the tower.

It shows me demons crawling from the abyss, and It shows me heroes rising to stop them.

But when I asked the gods "was it you who did this?" they replied "NO"

They told me of a lesser god named Orie, one whose name I share. They told me of how he gave his life to create the heroes that protected mankind from the demonic threats that linger till this day in the forbidden zones.

I do not blame men for not knowing the Origin(they never knew in first place), neither do I blame for not believing the words of the priests. but I am appalled by the things they choose to do with the gift that they have received; fighting amongst themselves when they should be working together to make the world safer, causing disputes and worst of all, taking advantage of the weak.

Even if they weren't the cause, There is no limit to how much I can lament about the problems of the world's people. and I keep lamenting because those who have the power to be the solution fail to do so.

I could keep ranting all day but I've got things to like doing my best not to get hit by any of Endo's strikes which is hard since I don't get to land any of my own."

All Orie could do was evade attacks repeatedly not returning any, but he was doing quite well when compared the others. he was naturally evasive with good training and not even even a raging Endo could do as much as scratch him. The hit ratio ratio between him and his opponent was 0:0

other than Orie who was keeping Endo busy, everyone's situation improved. Shiro was finally able to one-shot his enemies, courtesy of his Raiken which he read of in Dave's book. Raiken was a skill that allowed him to engulf certain parts of his body with lightning, increasing their power exponentially. lightning strikes were ineffective so this was his best option. there was also the option of summoning a sacred beast which Yamato did but Shiro didn't know how to do it yet, it was written somewhere in Dave's book he never got the time to read it properly.

With his Raiken and superior speed, Shiro mowed down more enemies than everyone except Shin Whose area was flashing with blinding lights. Mia who was the closest to the area said that the only thing that protected her eyes when she looked was the ridiculous amount of scrap metal that flew out of the area and she didn't dare look a second time.

Shiro punched through his enemies with ease, Yamoto and his blue tiger were clearing the area. Mia on the other hand was doing the most unexpected all things, using a sniper rifle in close combat. not that it held a disadvantage or anything It was just weird that the most durable thing in her inventory was a sniper rifle that doubled as a heavy metal bat. but what no one could disagree with was that the combos she did with it were awesome.

Meanwhile Orie seemed to be reaching his limits. he was still yet to get hit directly but the brushes he received were good enough to deal significant amounts of damage. the only option he had in mind was to wait for Shin to get there but considering how occupied Shiro was, it wasn't going to be anytime soon.

A second thought came to his mind. it was to run away but before he could shake it off a voice in his head did it for him saying the word "attack"

It was a voice that he trusted, a voice that couldn't be wrong, a voice that relayed to him the instructions of the gods but this time it told him to do something he was sure he couldn't do.

the voice said again "attack" but Orie still didn't follow "attack!...attack!!...attack!!!" It repeatedly yelled, each time with more intensity until Orie finally gave in and hit Endo with a punch to the stomach.

the punch sent Endo flying, and Orie was left dumbfounded. what he expected was an unusual counter accompanied by a whole lot of damage but none of that happened.

"how?...how is this possible?" Orie muttered

"well I figured the spell could be broken if a winner emerged" Shin answered as he walked towards Orie.

"but you guys haven't fought yet" Orie replied then Shin looked at him and smiled, saying the words "you don't have to fight a battle to admit defeat"

"so you forfeited your thousand years old duel?"

  "yeah, basically"

"why? weren't you fighting for something important?"

"yes I was, but not against him"

  "what do you mean?"

"it seems that you don't know what truly happened in days of old. I'll tell you everything when once I'm able to get this guy to calm down."

"and how do you intend to break the rage spell that has been cast on him?"

"let's just say I have a very powerful grandfather, you called out his name not long ago."

as Orie heard those words his face lit up, he was about to see the true power of Amadioha, one that was obtained by blood. another thing that brought him joy was he looked around and saw that the battle was nearing its end. what he saw was students cleaning up what was left of the 'Iron legion'. then he looked in the direction of an unconscious Endo who Shin was walking towards. "finally, I can rest" he said adjusting his coat as he watched Shin wake Endo up with a zap to the forehead.

as soon as Endo woke up, he moved to attack Shin but was immediately subdued by Shin's binding skill. within the chains of lighting he couldn't move a muscle. then Shin picked him up and raised him towards the sky.

"I know he said he didn't bear any aggression towards Endo" Orie muttered to himself

"but no matter how I look at it, he's about to do what I think he's about to do" Orie said to himself as he watched Shin scream the name of the thunder God. "AMADIOHA!!!"

"so much for not holding aggression" he as he walked away. he didn't know what made him look back but as he did, he saw that Endo was perfectly fine.

what was called down was not any ordinary lightning, it was a special lightning that brought calm and enlightenment, the same kind of which elders wished upon the youths. but not even enlightenment was enough to quell Endo's anger, the spell was broken but the rage remained but even more than that was the sadness. the sadness that remained after watching his entire nation die was still fresh but what was worse was the fact he was in front of the man that caused it all and for the second time he was too weak to avenge his people's death.

bound on the floor, he just he watched helplessly as the man he sought to kill walked away from him.

the battle had ended and Tanaka was finally let out of the barrier that was placed around her. with haste she ran towards Endo to see how he was doing. she couldn't help but feel that it was her fault that he was in his current condition "If only I didn't recall them" she thought

"none of this would've happened"

before she could get to Endo, Shin stopped her and told her "your work is not yet finished"

"There is still much to be done"

"can you show someone another person's memory?"

"well, Mr Addison" Ellie said as the camera faced Orie. "What are your thoughts on the current state of the match?" "I'm really not sure" Orie replied "To be honest, this is the first time I've seen Her like that so I don't actually know what to expect" "But if I had to take a guess..." "... I'd say I'm glad she wasn't like this in our match" Natsumi missed her first strike, and her second, and her third, and her fourth, and... all her strikes, she missed all of it. As it turns out, Kurobe had quite the reflex and was really good at evasion and keeping the distance. Every time Natsumi got close, he quickly evaded and put distance between them, pushing her back, attacking from blind spots, setting walls between them and a Whole lot of moves that prevented him from getting hit but that didn't stop his opponent from trying. With each passing second, Natsumi got closer to landing a hit on Kurobe. At first it was him feeling the little breeze as her fist fle

  • Cold hard truth

Many things can anger a fighter. An opponent that toys with them, someone that just won't stay down and in many cases, a direct insult. But none of those things were happening to Kurobe, he was facing something far more annoying; an opponent that isn't paying attention to him. At first glance, it looked like Kurobe was dominating the match without giving his opponent any chance to counter, but there were many times since the beginning of the fight where Natsumi would have been able to strike back but did nothing instead. She had barely moved from where she was standing at the start and she was in deep thought. All Natsumi did from the beginning of the match was to fend off the incoming attacks while thinking about what Orie had said to her. "I have finally seen your true self" "I finally know you" She couldn't muster up the courage to ask him what he meant because she was too afraid of his answer. She was afraid of the truth. "If the real me is a monster...

  • Tears of a beautiful summer

Orie was finally on the offensive. His wind blasts weren't doing much damage but they were strong enough to throw his opponent off balance and disorganize her attacks. He was able to close the distance bit by bit with each successful blast and every one of them hit. Before Natsumi could tell what was going on, Orie was standing directly under her. "White" orie said with a smile as he looked at her from below, then he spun his staff and struck the floor with it. Natsumi immediately turned to guard against it but no wind came from Orie's direction, it came from above and pushed her down. As Natsumi struggled to stand up, Orie began walking towards her and spoke. "I wondered why my prayers weren't working on you" "It would stop you for a brief moment then she'd take care of the rest by will power" "After this encounter, I think I finally figured it out" "The reason why my prayers don't work and who you are" "You are Natsumi" "You are not a spirit tha
