Volume 4. Chapter 10 Ignorance And Aid

Lara walked and helped her sister in the kitchen. Not long after, William's wife came and greeted them nicely.

Not long after his wife sat down, Noa came and was surprised to see Rini and Teresa at her house.

"Why are you here?" Noa was so curious.

"Father saw the two of them talking with the prince right in front of the house, so Father asked the two of them to come in too," William told him the reason why Rini and Teresa were at their house.

“Miss Jei, thank you for inviting me to your residence. Even though I just accepted the invitation today." Vail felt guilty because he didn't come when the invitation was given.

“If you invited me, does it have anything to do with the rumors circulating?” Vail summed up the reasons.

"You could say that, do you mind telling us?" Jei confirmed her guest's words.

“The rumors are false, but they are believable,” Vail told about the rumors that were spreading.

“Why do you ask us to believe those rumors, teacher?” Teresa was very curious about what he meant.

"I was there, right in front of Mr. Edward's residence. And I waited for Rii and Cini to come before going inside." Vail told the chronology of what happened.

“But when we went inside, the family was already on the ground.”

“The reason I ask you to believe is not without reason. I don't want you all to get into trouble, let you guys assume that the rumors exist and are real."

"Doesn't that mean you are indirectly protecting us?" Noa said his conclusion.

"As much as possible," Vail said and confirmed Noa's words.

"Then asked Princess Hana and Princess Maya to be made emperor as proof of loyalty."

William, who heard this, was immediately shocked and told him that the Trus kingdom had also received the same letter.

At the wrong time, Reha and Lara returned with two pots of herbal tea.

"Mr. Vail, this is tea for you." Lara placed a teapot containing three cups at Vail.

"Please enjoy..." William entertained his guests.

They drank the warm tea and ate some snacks that Reha had brought.

“Lara, Reha. Don't you guys drink?” Vail was so amazed.

Vail, who understood what he meant, immediately stretched out his right hand and read a magic spell to make the teapot cool.

“Thank you, mister Vail.” Reha was so happy that her request was granted.

“….” Lara and Reha drank so satisfied, Jei, Rini, Teresa, and Noa were tempted to try it.

"Can we get back to the conversation, Mr. William?"

“Of course, I don't reject it, Mr. Vail,” William answered and didn't mind discussing this further.

“The kingdom has sent a letter rejecting the order given, on the other hand. I suspect that if only, the perpetrator who became emperor was the same person who killed—"

“I'm pretty sure that person isn't him!” Teresa refused because she knew who was the person who took the king or her father away.

“This is still just a guess, not just me. But all the nobles suspect the same thing .” William told the others.

"Why do you seem to be defending the perpetrator of the king's murderer, Teresa?" Noa was so curious.

"To be honest, the person who killed the king met me three months ago," Teresa informed.

Vail looked at Noa with a suspicious look regarding the question asked of Teresa.

Before they knew it, it had already become dark. Rini and Teresa were asked by Jei to stay at the residence until the horse crew that picked them up arrived.

The next day, Vail disguised himself as an adventurer again.

"You already know you are ranked A, but you dare to accept a request from the guild master..." Another adventurer rebuked Kito and his group.

“Aren't you guys a lot worse than the Kevin you brought out? He understood his powers much better, and became a weeder or weeder.” Another person reminded Kito and his two colleagues of the stupidity.

"Ha ha ha." Some of the adventurers laughed at Kito and his group for being so stupid.

"Then where is Sinara Olida?"

“….” Kito, Mei, and Icha became gloomy and looked away with regret.

“When it was impossible to defeat the monster, Sio asked us to run away first. But when we got out of there, the rock that was the ceiling of the cave collapsed." Mei told them.

"You abandoned Sio who saved them?" The other adventurers were shocked to hear this.

“If Kevin hears this, he will be angry with you guys.”

"I know that we are much more useless than Kevin." Kito did not deny the words of the other adventurers.

In the afternoon, Kito, Mei, and Icha brought some flowers to the cave where they were last with Sio.

“….” Mei placed the flowers right at the mouth of the cave which was covered in rocks.

"Sio..." Icha was so sorry that she had left her friend.

"Who is there?!"

"Kito?" Mei was surprised to see Kito, who suddenly took out him sword and glanced behind.

"Mei, Icha...I felt something bad, my body shivered as if I felt a very scary presence." Kito explained the reason he suddenly took out his sword from its sheath.

"I didn't see anyone else at all, apart from us." Mei looked around themselves.

Not long after, Mei and Icha felt what Kito felt.

“There's no need to fight…”

“….” They were surprised by the masked person behind Icha.

"Who are you?" Mei felt a threat from the mysterious person.

“The person who will save your friend.” The masked man informed.

“Saving—Sio can be saved!?” Kito was so surprised.

“It is still not too late to save her. Perseverance to stay alive has made your friends survive until now." The masked man informed.

“Show me your injured hand.”

“….” Kito shows his left hand which was torn by the monster.

“Let's make a deal,” The masked man requested.

"Agreement?" Mei and her two colleagues were very curious.

“You guys just need to shut up about this, and me too. As long as you can do that, your friends will be safe." The man told the contents of the agreement.

"I also ask you to pretend that you haven't entered the cave later."

"Chairman..." Icha wanted to be sure and get an answer from Kito.

"If this allows our friend to survive, I will— " Kito stopped what he was saying because his left hand immediately healed.

"Wait here, and forbid anyone from coming in." The masked man asked.

“We understand,” They accepted the order.

Without any further delay, the rock covering the mouth of the cave was immediately destroyed. And the three of them saw the mysterious person enter so casually.

“….” They could only stare in silence.

“He, what is a high-ranking adventurer?” Mei was very curious and concluded the strength of the person they met.

“I don't think so, if that's true. Their movement is only permitted if they obtain permission from the kingdom.” Icha reminded her colleagues again.

They waited for four hours, now they saw the mysterious person again carrying Sio.

They were shocked to see Sio's condition, which was like a living corpse, and had many bites and visible flesh and bones.

"May!?" Icha saw Mei who was vomiting because she saw her friend's very sad condition.

“Are those eggs from the monsters that attacked us, on Sio's body?” Kito was shocked to see his friend's body being used as a host.

"The monsters you are fighting are creatures that need a host to allow their children to be born, by consuming magic and nutrients from humans." The masked man informed.

“….” They saw the person put Sio on the ground and in the blink of an eye, Sio was back to normal.

“Who exactly are you?” Icha and her two colleagues became curious.

“Your friends are safe, and as agreed. You guys have to do what I ask.”

“….” The three of them were shocked by the disappearance of the person before their eyes.

“Is he a demon king?” Mei was surprised but was immediately ignored because Sio opened her eyes.

At the same time, Kito pretended to enter the cave.

“….” Sio slowly opened her eyes and saw her three friends who had survived.

"May, Icha! Thank goodness you're safe." Sio was so happy and hugged her two friends.

"...What are you talking about Sio.” Mei pretended to be surprised.

“It seems like the nap has made you forgetful,” Icha complained.

"Everyone..." Kito came out of the cave.

“I've looked inside, it's best if we refuse the guild master's request and return to town,” Kito said and  pretended he hadn't done anything.

"Reject? Haven't we already gone in and fought…” Sio stopped talking and looked at her whole body which was fine.

"What happened to her?" Kito was so curious.

“We both didn't understand either when Sio opened her eyes. He immediately hugged us.” Mei told him what happened.

They wanted to cry because they found that their friend was still given a chance. But since the deal had been made, they held him back.

"Come on, it's best to go back to town and eat at that popular restaurant." Icha gave her suggestion.

"We haven't been there for a long time."

Sio thought it was all just a dream, even though a feeling of confusion and astonishment left an impression on her.

The four of them immediately walked toward the city.

On the next day.

Sio, who was running towards the inn, saw Kevin walking and talking to another woman so intimately.

“Kevin!” Sio came to him.

“Sio…”

“….” Vail, who is Kevin, is really surprised that Sio is in town.

"Is she your friend?" Lara was so curious.

“She was my friend in the guild and former groupmate,” Kevin told Lara.

"What are you doing here, Sio?" Kevin was so surprised and curious.

“There was something left behind at the inn, and I want to take it. Then I saw you on the street." Sio told him the reason.

Kevin and Lara saw Sio just running.
