Chapter one ;

“Bow down you nerd! Eat whatever is on the floor.” Tonny was pushed to the ground by the two bullies  Pele and Jasper in the school cafeteria. His knees hurt from the sudden force on the ground.

Silence fell inside the cafeteria as the rest of the students watched him and they kept murmuring to themselves. That is all they could do each time. Murmur to themselves without doing anything.

Tonny was skinny, with wasted limbs and sunken eyes that he couldn't fight off these two bullies. He was the youngest in the whole class. He managed to get into high school earlier because of his wisdom that he was always at the top in academics of the class.

Tonny was small and couldn't fight the giant Pele, the most feared amongst the whole class, he was about seven feet tall with well built muscles and it was most likely that he hit the gym.

Tonny bent down to pick his lunch that had been scattered on the floor. He had lost both his parents in a car accident when he was only fourteen and was taken by social service. The life there with the social service personnel wasn't easy so  he ran away from them.

Right now that he was sixteen, he was trying to make ends meet with the constant bills he had to pay in his parents home normally, and had no time to take care of himself. Staring at the food on the floor, Tonny would feel humiliation and rage but this was his lunch.

A free lunch at school was what he survived on as he couldn't get any decent job with no ID. He had to hide his real name from when he was fourteen afraid that the social service people would trace him and take him away again.

Jasper stared at him scornfully, “You want to be told the second time.” He pushed his head with his foot, Tonny could smell his smelly legs. Jasper was Pere's wingman. Not so fat and giant like Pere, but he was healthy with about five ft height with wavy short hair.

Tonny reached out to pick the food from the ground,  he had gotten used to this humiliation since it was not the first time.

His eyes sighted Elizabeth who was walking hurriedly towards them from the cafeteria door with an angry look on her face.“You can not do that to him!” She raised her voice.

Elizabeth and Tonny were not close friends but Elizabeth always looked out for him. Elizabeth was beautiful with long blonde hair. What made her even more desirable was her charisma and great personality.

Jasper stood in front of her.``Do not get involved pretty! How about you go talk in the janitor's room with Pele, ha! How is that?!” He giggled wanting to touch Elizabeth's hand but she pushed it away.

A rage filled Tonny's heart as he watched Jasper  tease Elizabeth too.

“You are really Pele's toy!” Elizabeth spoke scornfully as she walked away and left through the back door.

Elizabeth was Tonny's crush. He had never approached her afraid of rejection but could do anything but never allow to be humiliated in front of Elizabeth, and not even being able to stand up for himself.

He got up quickly and ran as the two bullies chased after him. He ran to the washroom locking the door tightly behind him.

“Open up the F***king door, you coward! Or we shall break the door and you will have to pay for it.” Pere shouted, hitting the door hard.

When Pere said he would break the door, he meant it due to his hot temper. Either way he was going to get to him and beat the hell out of him. Tonny would rather allow him to go through all the trouble than to just open the door freely and let him in.

In only three hits, Pele pulled out the bathroom door with his might and in rage and threw it on the other side. Reaching out his hands, Pele carried Tonny up in the air like he weighed nothing.

“I am going to teach you a  lesson today, Tonny Walker.” Pele threw him to the ground and he heard a cracking of his limbs, like they had just been broken. His breathing became slow.

Pele scouted to where Tonny was lying and gripped his hair making him sit. “Now beg me to stop, Tonny Walker. Say it.” He shouted in his face with each word coming out with saliva onto Tonny's face.

Pele had done everything to make Tonny suffer, but Tonny had always done everything quietly without begging him to stop. This always made Pele angry and this time around, he wanted him to beg him. All the other  students Pele beat always begged him to stop.

Pele hit him more.

Tonny had the pride in him, he couldn't beg him with his mouth but this time around. It looked like Pele wanted to finish him off. He would die if he kept his pride up. Mother, father, I might come to you if I don't beg him! Tonny whispered to himself with his eyes closed and  finally gave in to beg him.

“Plea…..”

A little shaking of the building interrupted Tonny's words. His eyes opened widely as the shaking increased.

Pele quickly got up. “ What was that?” He spoke in a shaky voice as he looked around. This was the first time Tonny saw Pele scared. It would have made him happier but they were in a crisis.

If all this passed, maybe Pele would never act superior infront of him after being such a baby just because of an earthquake.

The shaking became more violent than expected, a loud sound was heard striking louder than that of thunder. Tonny now became worried as everything seemed  to be serious. Pele ran out of the washrooms. Tonny couldn't move with all the pain in his ribs. Suddenly the building was torn apart. For Tonny, everything became blurry.

It was quiet for a long time, Tonny tried to move amidst the bricks that had fallen onto him.

“Ahh, ahh.” Tonny woke up, he coughed as he moved the bricks away from his body. These bricks weighed about eight pounds each, they would have killed him.He was surprised at how he managed to get them off of his body effortlessly.

He  looked around at the building, it looked like an abandoned one, how long had he stayed here? Had he died and was this soul?. He stared at his arms and body,he had added in weight with quite a muscular body.

He quickly got up to look up if this was really his body. His beards had grown up, he looked much older. He stared at his body hesitantly in the dusty cracked mirror of the washroom that had been torn into two parts. He looked almost thirty years.

He touched his face countless times not believing  that it was him because of the muscles on his biceps and the six packs on his stomach. His whole body was filled with dust and he quickly rubbed a few of it off, he needed a shower for him to completely get the dust off.

The last time he could remember was an earthquake. If he had died then there is no way heaven would look like this, it would be much cleaner at least according to the stories he always had about heaven in Sunday school when he was still being taken care of by the social service.

He still had memories of how Pele threatened him on the floor but at that moment, no one was there. Even the ribs that Pele had broken,he touched them when they were perfectly fine.He walked to where Pele had walked to when the building was about to collapse, he wouldn't have gone so far. His body wasn't there nor was he. Only scattered bricks and cobwebs filled the building.

Am I the only survivor of the earth quake, he questioned himself. He stepped out of the building to find out if there were any survivors outside of this building, if any one had died, at least he would be able to find their bodies .  He sensed footsteps from far away about ten miles from where he was standing, they were heavy footsteps accompanied by screams.

He was surprised to be hearing from afar, it was not the normal range.Right now it felt like more of a dream to him.He pinched himself countless times to make sure he wasn't dreaming but he was still right there. It was real.

He looked around to make sure the sounds he was hearing were not near him and he couldn't catch sight of any one.

Am I having super powers! Is this the place that my parents decided to bring me in when I asked them to protect me?

 Am I in hell?

These were all the questions he had in mind.
