"Alright, but I’d like to rest for a while, Brother. Oh, by the way, my name is Fang Yun, and this is Zhao Wen,"

"I’m Hansi," said Hansi, introducing himself.

Fang Yun then stood up and retrieved his heirloom sword that lay beside him.

"Actually, I had a feeling something was wrong yesterday when my father said goodbye. It was unusual for him to say such things before leaving. But it’s fine, maybe that was what’s best for me," Hansi said.

"You had a noble goal in trying to avoid the martial world. If I had the choice, I probably would’ve chosen the same path you did," Fang Yun replied.

Hansi smiled faintly.

Two hours passed, and the three of them decided to head up Mount Huangshan, specifically to the Red Lion Sect, before nightfall.

After nearly five hours of travel, they finally arrived at the Red Lion Sect as night fell. Hansi then showed Fang Yun and Zhao Wen their rooms to rest.

The arrival of Hansi and the two young warriors inevitably became a topic of conversation among the me

He then leapt down, thinking of resting his horse after riding it in circles for hours while searching for Zhao Wen.Fang Yun tied the reins to a tree that wasn’t too large, then leaned his back against a big tree near the unusually long grave. His gaze lingered on it as he kept thinking of ways to rescue Zhao Wen. No matter what, Zhao Wen was his friend—more than that, he had promised Zhao Jian to always protect his only grandson.Curiosity made Fang Yun stand up and approach the long grave. He crouched down and pulled out the grass growing on top of it until it was clean."You seem to be in serious trouble, young man."The voice of an old man startled Fang Yun.He turned and saw the same elderly man he had met earlier at the edge of the Forest of Death, still wearing the same clothes and the bamboo hat that constantly shadowed his face."Grandfather…? Why are you here?"The old man smiled and revealed his face. "First, I want to thank you for tending to my grave.""Grave? But you’re

Although disappointed that Ciu Lai’s answer didn’t align with his dirty thoughts, Zhao Wen could still accept it. At least, if he became Ciu Lai’s husband, he would be able to enjoy her body more often.“When will you introduce me to your father? And will your father accept me, just a commoner?”“I will force my father to accept you. If my father refuses, then I want you to take me away from this palace. Are you ready to do that?” Ciu Lai asked, wrapping her arms around Zhao Wen’s neck. The handsome young man nodded while staring at Ciu Lai’s luscious red lips. Without waiting for another chance, Zhao Wen immediately seized those ripe red lips without stopping. When his hands began to move to strip her clothes, the beautiful girl quickly stopped him. “I want to do it when we are officially husband and wife. I’m afraid you will leave me after you taste my body.”“All right, if that’s what you want, I’ll wait for that moment,” Zhao Wen replied, holding back the lust that had already ris

“If we told you that you’re not guilty and that someone wants to meet you, would you believe us?” one of the soldiers asked.“I don’t know anyone here, so how could I believe you?” Zhao Wen replied. He shifted his stance, ready to fight again.“Calm down, young man. We will take you with respect. Please come with us to the palace. You can walk on your own—no one will even touch you,” the soldier said, trying to soothe him.“Can you be trusted?” Zhao Wen frowned, suspicious of the soldier’s words.“Understand this, young man: if we bring you back with even the slightest scratch on your skin, we’ll face severe punishment. Please, help us avoid that fate!”Half-believing the soldier’s words, Zhao Wen studied his eyes. There was honesty in that gaze. Zhao Wen reasoned that even if he fought, the outcome would still be defeat. There was no harm in trying to go along for now.“Fine. I’ll follow you. But on one condition—don’t touch me, or I’ll fight back. I’m not a coward who fears death.”

  • The Pursuit

While observing the situation in the capital city of Yunan, Zhao Wen saw a magnificent horse-drawn carriage approaching. On either side of the carriage, several soldiers ran alongside, escorting it.Since they weren’t part of the wide-eared battalion, Zhao Wen didn’t try to hide. He simply stood by the roadside to admire the most beautiful carriage he had ever seen.Once the carriage passed, he resumed walking. But after only a few meters, two soldiers from the escort rushed toward him. “Hey, you… stop!”Zhao Wen froze and turned around. Realizing they were heading straight for him, he sprinted with all his might, darting through alley after alley to escape the pursuing soldiers.Seeing a small, seemingly empty house, Zhao Wen rushed inside and shut the door tightly. He didn’t want the soldiers to discover where he was hiding. He could faintly hear the two soldiers speaking just outside.“Where did that young man go? He vanished so fast!”“I don’t know. We have to keep searching until

Suddenly, Zhao Wen’s body was flung backward. He opened his eyes, clutching his stomach in pain—Fang Yun’s kick had landed squarely. "Ciu Lai? Where is Ciu Lai?" Zhao Wen asked, dazed. "Ciu Lai, your head!" Fang Yun snapped, annoyed, rubbing his cheek which Zhao Wen had accidentally kissed while they slept beside each other under a tree. Zhao Wen rubbed his eyes, still picturing Ciu Lai’s face. "So it was just a dream," he muttered, disappointed. He stood and approached Fang Yun. "Why did you kick me?" "You’ve gone mad, trying to kiss someone in their sleep. I may not be interested in romance, but I’m still normal," Fang Yun retorted, equally irritated. "Too bad the dream ended. If it had gone on, I might’ve married Ciu Lai," Zhao Wen said, gazing wistfully upward. "Let’s get moving. And don’t sleep next to me again. Gross!" Zhao Wen chuckled at Fang Yun’s expression. "How was I supposed to know? It was just a dream. I’d never kiss you on purpose." "Whatever. Let’s keep moving,

  • Sweet Dream

Several hours passed, and they were approaching the Forest of Death. From a distance, Fang Yun could see a thick black aura hanging above the dense forest. To ordinary people, it might have looked like nothing, but for Fang Yun—blessed with inner strength, heightened sensitivity, and the Divine Fire Eye—he could clearly see the ominous black aura.Instead of fear, Fang Yun felt even more challenged to explore the most haunted forest of all.Upon arriving at the edge of the Forest of Death, Fang Yun and Zhao Wen crossed paths with an old man—short, clad in black, wearing a bamboo hat. In his hand, he held a bamboo cane about the width of a big toe."Where are you headed, young men?" the old man asked."We’re entering the forest, Grandfather," Fang Yun replied politely. The old man, whose face remained hidden due to his bowed posture and the shade of his bamboo hat, nodded slowly. "Be careful, young ones. Mind your manners once you're inside."Fang Yun nodded. "Thank you for the warning
