“Thank you,” Xiao Chen replied before stepping out of the inn.

Following the innkeeper’s directions, Xiao Chen took a right and quickened his pace slightly, scanning the dim surroundings.

Meanwhile, Sekar’s worst fear had come true. The sword she was using had cracked and finally broken from the repeated impacts. The inner power she channeled to strengthen the blade had not been matched by the sword’s ability to withstand the pressure.
