Xiao Chen hurriedly grabbed the guard's arm before the man's palm could strike Sekar's cheek.

The man flew into a rage and glared at Xiao Chen. “Why are you holding me back!? Do you want to fight me?” he shouted as he tried to free his arm from Xiao Chen's grip.

“Sorry. I meant no harm or challenge, but you need to know this girl is under the protection of the village head. If the chief finds out you slapped her, there's a very good chance you won't live long.” Xiao Chen answered, then released the man's hand.

“Are you lying?” the guard demanded.

“Go ahead and slap her if you don't believe me. After she reports it to the chief, I can guarantee you won't survive until morning,” Xiao Chen said, and stepped back.

“Right... what he says is true. Don't take a risk you can't handle,” said the other guard, then opened the door. “Bring her in!”

What happened next made the old man narrow his eyes in surprise. The demon stood up, and miraculously, the wounds on its back closed as if they had never been there. Even the other injuries across its body healed, leaving no trace behind.“Don’t think you can kill me so easily, Human! You may wound my body, but you cannot kill me! I am immortal!”In truth, the demon’s words were nothing but lies. It was only trying to shake the old man’s resolve. In reality, it had consumed a great deal of energy to heal its injuries, and if the old man struck again, its condition would worsen. The old man smirked at the claim.“If you’re trying to fool me, forget it. There’s no such thing as immortality for a creature like you,” he replied.Having lived for hundreds of years and walked the martial world, he knew well that demons were not immortal. Healing themselves required immense energy. He would exploit that fact, wounding his opponent again and again until the kill was certain.“Damn it! He’s no

The first explosion of their battle thundered through the forest, as the opening strike of the old man was successfully blocked by the hideous demon. But what happened next was different from Xiao Chen’s earlier clash. This time, the old man’s strike managed to hurl the demon’s body far backward, slamming it against a massive tree that collapsed under the impact. If not for that tree, the demon’s body would have been flung even farther. The cracking sound of the falling tree echoed loudly, and dust once again billowed into the air. Before the demon could regain its balance, another swift and powerful strike was already aimed directly at it.The creature quickly dodged the slash of the Energy Sword that targeted its head. It leapt several steps to the side, saving itself from the wounds it would have sustained if it had been even a second too late. Before it could stand upright, a long beam of red light shot forth—like a blazing chain of f

The young man then leapt far back. But something strange happened: when the smoke and flames that had shrouded the bizarre figure dispersed, Xiao Chen saw that his opponent was completely unfazed by the blow.Curiosity and disbelief drove Xiao Chen to attack again. He sprang high forward and brought his sword down hard toward the creature’s body for a second time.Blaaar!Xiao Chen was slammed backward dozens of paces after his blade struck true. Another deafening explosion shook the battlefield. Though Xiao Chen’s strike only hit the ground, the devastation it caused was severe. A massive crater formed—wide and deep—while soil scattered wildly, raising a cloud of dust that billowed skyward. The area near the Twin Sword Sect’s headquarters had become truly nightmarish. Flames raged everywhere, consuming everything in their path.Meanwhile, Sekar, unable to contain her curiosity about Xiao Chen’s battle, finally decided to return. She had ordered the two girls she rescued to stay behind and guard the two horses. From a distance, though still clearly visible, Sekar was shocked to see the devastation caused by Xiao Chen’s battle against the leader of the bandit gang.“It seems that man is the toughest opponent Xiao Chen has ever faced,” Sekar thought to herself, drawing conclusions from the destruction unfolding before her eyes. The duel between Xiao Chen and Yuan Gu continued fiercely, growing more intense with every strike. Suddenly, the scarred man’s eyes widened. As the smoke was swept away by the night wind, he saw his opponent still standing unmoved. A bright blood-red aura enveloped Xiao Chen’s body.“Impossible!” Yuan Gu shook his head in disbelief. He still couldn’t accept that his strongest barehanded strike had failed to defeat his opponent. The man, known as the Silver Sword Warrior, swallowed hard several times. He realized he had chosen the wrong opponent. He should have fled rather than fight a warrior whose abilities were clearly above his own.But the rice had already become porridge. He had to finish what he had started, even if it cost him his life. After all, the young warrior who had come to stop his wickedness surely wouldn’t let him go.“Come! Let’s end this battle!” he shouted, steeling his resolve.Xiao Chen stepped forward, a smile curling on his lips. Suddenly, crimson flames burst from his hands.“This time, it’s my turn to attack! I’ll make sure you’ll never see the sunrise tom

The three of them were now standing near Xiao Chen.“Take those two girls away from here, and let me castrate that lecherous man!” Xiao Chen said to Sekar.“Be careful!” Sekar replied, then led the two girls away.“So there’s a fairy here after all. Once I kill you, I’ll enjoy that girl’s body!” Yuan Gu licked his lips as his eyes lustfully scanned Sekar’s figure.“How could you even think about that if I cut off your bird so both eggs dangle without a nest?” Xiao Chen mocked.Yuan Gu growled in anger, drawing his inner energy with force before dashing forward with a flurry of relentless strikes toward Xiao Chen.Sensing the sudden surge of energy from his opponent, Xiao Chen did not act recklessly. He swiftly dodged each attack aimed at him. Only then did Xiao Chen realize his opponent was not an ordinary fighter—
