His heart skipped upon seeing the monster's rank. The highest rank the military had ever recorded was B rank, and it had taken an army of high quality mages to take it down.

Henry covered his eyes immediately. He couldn't believe he was already seeing things. That dream was turning into reality because of the fear inside him.

He opened his eyes, and another screen appeared in front of him.

[System guide has been activated. The system will lead the way to the monster. System reward for D rank monster; 1,500 gold coins]

Henry fell to the ground in fear. Could this be real? This was exactly how the system displayed in his dream.

Henry's heartbeat increased as he remembered the powers of the system. There was only one way to find out.

“Direct host to the monster.”

[System map activated]

A map appeared in front of Henry. Inside the map, a red dot was blinking, and it was some distance away from his position, which was represented by a green color.

Henry's heartbeat increased even more, but he didn't have any time to waste.

He got up and followed the direction. He had to save his father, and with the power the system promised, he believed it would be possible.

His wristwatch didn't detect his current level, but he could feel improvement in his magic. No wonder Derek's fire fist had no effect on him. He had truly leveled up.

Henry's cheeks tried to move, but he lacked the emotion to complete the expression.

He was some distance away when he started hearing magic blasts, and the surroundings became intense.

He could feel the auras flowing in the area. He finally believed something had awakened inside him, since the location was correct.

He entered the forest without hesitation. The fact that someone was fighting the monster gave him hope.

His father was still alive, and he wouldn't have to fight a D rank monster.

Henry burst out from the woods and entered an open land in the middle of the forest.

His eyes widened as he saw a monster for the first time. It had the same structure as a human.

His father's description was correct. It only had a mouth, while the rest of its facial features were absent. No eyes, no ears, and its color was green, although his father had mentioned purple.

Henry believed monster ranks were known by their color, since there was no tool to detect their power level.

He looked around quickly, but there was nobody resting in a corner.

“Dad.”

Henry's voice was low. He took a step forward and stepped on something that felt like a bone.

Henry looked down, and only then did he realize the area was covered with bones.

He fell to his knees immediately. Monsters leveled up by sucking out the life force of humans. Even the flesh was taken, and when that was completed, the human was left with only bones.

Henry looked forward quickly, and he spotted someone beside the monster.

He moved closer, and it was his father lying helplessly on the ground. He was tied down by a monster thread, which the monster used to drain life force slowly.

Henry's body trembled at the sight of his father's condition. He looked at the five mages fighting the monster. They were doing nothing to rescue him. Instead, they were keeping their distance.

He tried to move closer, but his legs stiffened due to fear. He couldn't move carelessly. This monster could kill him with one strike, and besides, he was still an E ranked mage.

He glanced at the mages' watches. They were all C ranked mages except the woman in their middle, who seemed to be their leader.

She was a B ranked mage, level five. Henry believed she could do something, but her next words shocked him.

“Let's escape once the opening is clear. There is no way we can fight this monster.”

Henry's body shook upon hearing the leader's words. How could they run away, leaving a captive behind?

He surged forward without control. He didn't care about his life. He just wanted to save his father.

He couldn't believe these people called themselves mages. They intended to run away while someone was in danger.

Before the bounty hunters could react, a kid ran past them.

Selena's heart skipped upon seeing the kid rushing toward the old man on the ground.

What was a kid doing here?

Her eyes widened as she saw the monster positioning itself to attack him.

“Stop! Kid! Come back!”

Henry didn't listen. He kept moving, tears streaming down his face.

“Dad!”

He screamed.

“Shit!”

Selena gritted her teeth. This was the perfect time to escape, but she couldn't leave a child behind.

She wouldn't be able to forgive herself if she did.

“Flash Step!”

She appeared in front of the monster and immediately used her best skill.

“Fire Blast!”

She landed a perfect hit on the monster's face. Her cheeks lifted slightly at the success. The monster must have been distracted by the kid.

But her relief ended quickly.

The monster seized her hands and threw her into the air. Its attention shifted back to Henry.

“Protect the kid,”

Selena managed to mutter before her back slammed into the ground.

They knew they couldn't fight the monster. Their only hope of survival was to run away, but this kid had ruined their chance.

“Earth Wall; Double Solid!”

The earth mage created an eight foot wall that separated Henry from the monster.

Before the monster could break through, one of them used Flash Step three times, grabbed Henry, and pulled him back.

“Let me go,”

Henry muttered as he struggled in the mage's grip.

“Let me go, that's my father.”

He tried to break free, but before they could respond, the monster screamed.

Everyone covered their ears, including Henry.

The scream was ear piercing and heart gripping.

[Monster has been angered]

[Monster has entered full mode; monster has activated Aura Pressure]

Immediately the system finished.

Everyone fell to their knees except Henry, who was already lying on the ground. His body was pressed down as if by a heavy force.

The pressure was overwhelming, and the air became even more intense.

“We are dead,”

one of the mages cried.

The monster had been playing with them. Now it had entered full mode, and they could no longer escape.

Tears fell from his eyes. They were the B team of Red Skull. They had come here to unite with the first team, only to discover that the monster had already drained them all.

They were only kneeling because of their magic tools, which enhanced their physical strength and stamina. Without them, they would have been completely pinned to the ground.

“Thud.”

“Thud.”

The monster's footsteps echoed heavily.

“We are going to die!”

Selena stood in front of them.

Their expressions lifted upon seeing her. She was a B ranked mage at level five, which meant she could use a mega skill.

A mega skill would at least weaken the monster and give them a chance to escape.

“Captain,”

they cried.

Selena clenched her fists. As much as she wanted to blame the kid, she knew they were in the wrong.

Leaving someone behind was not what mages stood for.

But they simply were not strong enough.

She doubted if her mega skill would even weaken the beast.

“Make some walls to slow down its pace.”

The earth mage immediately placed his hands on the ground.

“Earth Wall; Triple!”

Three solid walls rose in front of the monster.

They were lucky the monster couldn't use speed mode, or they would already be dead.

Selena stood firm. That would buy her time to prepare her mega skill.

She gathered all her energy. She had to focus.

“Captain!”

her team shouted suddenly.

“Boom.”

“Boom.”

“Boom.”

The monster destroyed all three walls instantly and charged straight toward her.

Selena's heart froze.

Henry tried to move, but he couldn't. Tears filled his eyes.

What was he going to tell his sister? His mother?

Their family would be devastated.

Henry forced himself to look at his father. His body was fading rapidly.

If only he could kill the monster, his father's life force would return, since he was still alive.

Henry clenched his fists.

His father had always encouraged him. He never lost hope in him, even though he knew he was the weakest mage in the world.

An E ranked mage.

Yet his father still believed he would become a great mage.

If he couldn't save his father, then who could he save?

Henry's fists tightened even more. His body burned with rage, but he still couldn't break free from the pressure.

“Dammit.”

“I am useless. Born weak.”

[Host has activated; Greatest Desire]

[System is granting host a special offer;

S rank max for four red coins.

Warning; Host can only use this power for ten seconds and has a 99 percent probability of dying after the time limit]

There is nowhere you can run to that I can't run to as well. I know you are afraid of dying, but that was your fate the moment you were born as a human being. If you were born as monster, that would've been different. You would've been strong and immune to death.Your friend over there fought a good fight, but he still ended up dying.”Diego stopped approaching and continued.“Monsters do die, so you don't think am not being obvious of the hundreds of monsters that have died on this very ground, but just as hundreds of monsters have died on this floor, over a million humans have died on this ground as well.So you can see that the numbers are not worth an argument. The monsters that fell into the hands of humans are simply the ones that couldn't work
