Henry was shocked to see the message from the system. He didn't bother to read the rules twice before making up his mind.

“Accept.”

He didn't care if he died here, as long as his father was alive, he wouldn't be sad.

Selena couldn't move. She helplessly watched the monster launch its fist toward her, but surprisingly, the monster stopped and retreated immediately.

Her eyebrows moved.

What is happening here?

Before she could think about what had happened, her body was suddenly smashed into the ground.

The surrounding intensity suddenly increased, and the force pushed her to the ground.

Her throat seized immediately. Her heart was pounding heavily.

The pressure was coming from a mage. She wondered if the military had arrived, but her eyes widened when she saw the kid rising to his feet.

Immediately after he rose, she blacked out.

Her body couldn't withstand the aura.

Who is this kid?

Henry stood up with immense pressure. He could feel the energy flowing inside his body, and soon, he wouldn't be able to handle the power.

[Seven…]

Henry pointed at the monster.

[Monster has activated; Harden]

[Monster has activated; Shield Hands]

[Monster has formed a pressure wall]

[Monster has…]

“Explosion!!”

Henry's giant ball of flame zoomed toward its target. The attack was followed by an immense breeze, and before the monster could do anything, the flame exploded.

The outburst scattered the trees around, and the wind blew away every particle in the surrounding area.

Selena slowly opened her eyes. Everything was still blurry, but she remembered the strange kid.

That aura was definitely from an S rank.

She didn't sense any energy from him. She only sensed a little, which was strange. She actually thought he was a normal human.

He must have been hiding his energy.

She stood up, but her jaws dropped immediately.

The free land was three times its former size, and the area was filled with burnt ashes except for the area where she was standing and where the captive man was.

She looked around quickly, but nobody was around.

She didn't expect to see the S ranker, but she wished she had. He was so young and mature.

She was trying to remember his face, but she couldn't remember any of his features. It seemed like she had forgotten what the boy looked like, but she knew he was a teenager.

She hadn't heard of a teenager being an S ranked mage. Could it be that he was from the Anderson family?

That meant the military was already here, and that would explain how he was able to use his power at such a young age.

She believed she was two years older than him, yet she couldn't even use her mega skills. He was definitely from the Anderson family.

Selena's eyes moved to where the captive man was. Her eyebrows moved when she saw the monster crystal.

He didn't take the crystal.

Who would kill a monster without taking the crystal?

The crystal was the heart of a monster. Its quality varied with the monster's level. Big companies used it to develop magic tools and other things.

Apart from that, there was another part called the souls. They were used to increase levels.

Selena checked her level.

She was already at level six, as expected. The S rank mage didn't take anything.

The soul must have picked her since she was the only one conscious.

Her cheeks moved. She was finally at level five.

She removed the ring she was wearing, and her level dropped back to five. Her magic ring added one level to her class.

“You did it, Captain.”

“Captain!!! You are amazing!”

Selena gazed back. Her team was finally awake, but they thought she killed the monster.

“I…”

One of the girls among the team hugged her.

“Captain, you are truly outstanding. I didn't accept my boyfriend's proposal. Oh goodness! I thought I was going to die. Captain, you saved me.”

She hugged Selena tightly.

“Captain!!”

They kept hailing her.

Selena didn't know whether to accept it or not. She couldn't accept it though. What if the S ranked mage showed up, or it was later revealed?

“I didn't…”

“Selena James.”

Her voice seized.

Everybody went on their knees immediately. They couldn't believe whose voice they had just heard.

The vice Admiral, Clark Anderson.

“Sir!”

Selena's heart raced as she walked toward the general's son. She was expecting a captain, but the vice admiral came himself.

She bowed 90 degrees when she reached him.

“I am Selena James, the captain of the Red Skull Group B.”

“Where is the Red Skull?”

Clark looked around. He couldn't believe it when they told him what happened in the gold mine, so he had to come and see it himself.

Selena shouted after much hesitation.

“Dead, sir! All dead!”

Clark stared at Selena. There was no way this weakling could have caused this mass destruction.

He had to find who killed the monster.

“Selena James. Clean up the mess here and report back to me at the chopper house.”

“Yes, sir.”

Selena finished up with her men. She took the captive man home. He was a lucky man.

They were all lucky anyway.

She stood in front of the military office in the Bloom area.

She knew what the general wanted, but she lacked a lot of information, and she was scared to engage in a conversation with someone from the Anderson family.

They had three S ranked mages in the family, and they were all above level five.

The most surprising thing was the last S ranked mage, who was a teenager, and he was also at level five.

How was this possible?

The world could only call it talent.

Selena entered the office.

Clark was sitting on his throne. He had a worried look on his face.

What was he going to tell his father about the monster?

The Public Guardians would criticize them for this.

“Selena, who killed the monster? Be straightforward with your answer.”

Selena's voice was shaking.

“I don't know, sir. He wore a mask or something.”

“Or something?”

Clark stood up with his eyebrows lowered.

Selena's words had only increased the intensity of the situation.

He thought it was a squad, but now it was just one person.

He could only be an S ranked mage.

That attack was too powerful for a lower class mage, but which S ranked mage was currently in Cherry City?

Selena stared at the floor.

She dared not look at Sir Clark's face.

“You mean you didn't see anything? You are a B ranked mage, and you didn't see who saved you?”

She was speechless.

“Sir… he is young. Very young. He should be around seventeen to eighteen years old. That is the only thing I am sure of. The rest might be false.”

Clark's forehead folded.

He couldn't believe Selena's words.

How could a teenager be an S ranked mage with such a powerful attack?

He doubted if his younger brother could pull that off, let alone another person.

“You are sure he is a teenager?”

“Yes, sir. I thought he was… Sir Ronin.”

“No.”

Clark turned around, facing his seat.

This was very serious.

He had to cover this from the Public Guardians and his father.

“How did he come inside the scene?”

Selena stared at the floor for a while before answering.

“I don't know, sir. He came, and it ended. That is all I remember.”

Clark was quiet for a while before he spoke.

“Selena James. Don't say this to anybody. I don't want to hear it anywhere else. I have already given you the glory. You can leave now.”

Selena bowed 90 degrees and left.

Somebody entered after she left.

“I checked. It seems the monster exploded itself. There was no trail of somebody except Selena and her team.”

Clark's eyebrows pushed together.

He thought so. He didn't see any trail except Selena and her team.

They were the only ones there, and to think such a powerful blast didn't affect them, it simply meant the monster exploded itself and the effect affected Selena and her team's brains.

He could see something was wrong with her memory, but how could the monster have exploded itself?

“This should be classified.”

The public couldn't know about this since they couldn't prove anything.
