Henry froze when he saw the system’s message.

He didn’t bother reading the warning twice.

“Accept.”

He didn’t care if he died.

As long as his father lived, that was enough.

[Host has traded four red coins for a special offer]

[Offer activated. Countdown; 10, 9, 8…]

Selena couldn’t move.

She watched helplessly as the monster swung its fist toward her.

Then suddenly, it stopped.

It retreated.

Her brows tightened.

What was happening?

Before she could process it—

Her body slammed into the ground.

The pressure in the air intensified instantly.

It crushed her.

Her throat tightened. Her heart pounded wildly.

This aura… it wasn’t from a monster.

It was from a mage.

Had the military arrived?

Her eyes widened.

The boy.

He was rising.

The moment he stood, her vision went dark.

Her body couldn’t withstand the pressure.

Who… is he?

Henry stood up slowly.

Power surged through him.

It burned inside his veins, wild and uncontrollable.

He could feel it.

This strength…

His body wouldn’t be able to hold it for long.

[Seven…]

Henry raised his hand and pointed at the monster.

[Monster has activated; Harden]

[Monster has activated; Shield Hands]

[Monster has formed a Pressure Wall]

[Monster has—]

“Explosion!”

A massive sphere of fire shot forward.

The air roared behind it.

Before the monster could react, the attack struck.

Boom.

The explosion tore through everything.

Trees were ripped from the ground.

Ash filled the sky.

The shockwave erased everything in its path.

[System has shielded nearby humans]

[System is stabilizing surrounding conditions]

[Monster has been killed; host rewarded with 1,500 gold coins]

[Reward doubled for first monster kill]

[Special package granted for defeating a D rank monster]

[Congratulations… System… shutting down]

Selena slowly opened her eyes.

Her vision was blurred.

But she remembered.

That boy.

That overwhelming aura.

That was an S rank presence.

But something was strange.

She hadn’t sensed it earlier.

He had felt like a normal human.

He must have been hiding his power.

She pushed herself up—

And froze.

Her jaw dropped.

The clearing had tripled in size.

Everything was burned.

Reduced to ash.

Except the area where she stood.

And where the captive man lay.

She looked around.

No one.

He was gone.

She didn’t expect to see him again.

But she wished she had.

He was young.

Too young.

She tried to recall his face.

But she couldn’t.

It was as if her memory had been erased.

She only knew one thing.

He was a teenager.

An S rank teenager?

Impossible.

Unless…

The Anderson family.

That would explain everything.

They had the military’s backing.

And their youngest member…

A teenage S rank.

Selena believed she was older than him.

Yet she couldn’t even use her mega skill properly.

Her gaze shifted.

The monster’s crystal lay on the ground.

Untouched.

Who kills a monster and leaves the crystal?

The crystal was the core of a monster.

Essential for crafting magic tools and weapons.

There was also the soul.

Used for leveling up.

Selena checked her level.

Six.

She blinked.

Then she removed her ring.

Her level dropped back to five.

The ring had been boosting her.

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

She had leveled up.

“You did it, Captain!”

“Captain, you’re amazing!”

Selena turned.

Her team had regained consciousness.

They thought she killed the monster.

“I…”

Before she could speak, one of them hugged her tightly.

“Captain, you’re incredible! I thought I was going to die!”

They all started praising her.

Selena hesitated.

Should she deny it?

What if the S rank mage appeared later?

“I didn’t—”

“Selena James.”

Her voice caught in her throat.

Everyone dropped to their knees.

That voice.

Vice Admiral Clark Anderson.

“Sir!”

Selena’s heart raced as she stepped forward.

She had expected a captain.

Not him.

She bowed deeply.

“I am Selena James, captain of Red Skull Group B.”

“Where is the rest of Red Skull?”

Clark scanned the area.

He couldn’t believe the report.

He had to see it himself.

Selena hesitated.

Then she spoke.

“Dead, sir. All of them.”

Clark stared at her.

There was no way she caused this destruction.

He needed to know the truth.

“Selena James. Clean this place and report to me at the chopper house.”

“Yes, sir.”

After finishing with her team, Selena ensured the captive man was taken home safely.

They had all survived.

Barely.

Now she stood before the military office in the Bloom area.

Her heart was heavy.

She knew what Clark wanted.

But she didn’t have the answers.

And speaking to someone from the Anderson family…

Was terrifying.

They had three S rank mages.

All above level five.

And the youngest…

A teenager.

Selena entered the office.

Clark sat in his chair, deep in thought.

“What am I supposed to tell my father…” he muttered under his breath.

The Public Guardians would not let this go.

“Selena. Who killed the monster? Answer me directly.”

Her voice trembled.

“I don’t know, sir. He… he wore a mask. Or something.”

“Or something?”

Clark stood up, his gaze sharp.

This made things worse.

One person.

Not a squad.

Only one.

That meant S rank.

But which one?

“Are you saying you saw nothing? You are a B rank mage.”

Selena lowered her head.

“Sir… he is young. Very young. Around seventeen or eighteen. That is the only thing I am certain about.”

Clark frowned.

A teenager?

Impossible.

Even his younger brother couldn’t produce that level of destruction.

“You are sure?”

“Yes, sir.”

Clark turned away.

This was serious.

He had to hide this.

From the Public Guardians.

From his father.

“How did he appear?”

Selena hesitated.

“I don’t know, sir. He came… and then everything ended.”

Silence filled the room.

Then Clark spoke.

“Selena James. You will not speak of this to anyone. I have already given you the credit. Leave.”

“Yes, sir.”

She bowed and left.

Moments later, another officer entered.

“I checked the area. It appears the monster exploded itself. There are no traces of another individual. Only Selena and her team.”

Clark’s brows tightened.

That made sense.

No footprints.

No residual aura.

And yet… such destruction.

If the blast didn’t harm them, then—

Their memories must have been affected.

He had noticed something off about Selena.

But why would a monster self-destruct?

“This incident will be classified.”

The public must never know.

They had no proof.

Lora was shaking in her spot when Diego turned to face her. She subconsciously stepped backwards in fear, and an evil smile crept onto Diego's face.He said as he slowly approached Lora.“There is no need to step backwards, little lamb. There is nowhere you can run to that I can't run to as well. I know you are afraid of dying, but that was your fate the moment you were born as a human being. If you were born as monster, that would've been different. You would've been strong and immune to death.Your friend over there fought a good fight, but he still ended up dying.”Diego stopped approaching and continued.“Monsters do die, so you don't think am not being obvious of the hundreds of monsters that have died on this very ground, but just as hundreds of monsters have died on this floor, over a million humans have died on this ground as well.So you can see that the numbers are not worth an argument. The monsters that fell into the hands of humans are simply the ones that couldn't work

She snapped her fingers towards Helen.“You tried to attain something you are not, but are still just a human being. This is where it ends human creation!”The dark blades instantly covered Helen at that moment. I refuse to accept this ending’ ‘My life can't end this way!’ Helen tried to stand up to her feet once more, but she fell to the ground again. She had been beaten to a pulp by the monster, Ava, who was standing right in front of her. ‘Shit!’ Helen cursed as her body let her down once more.
