The old man, dressed in a bespoke Louis Vuitton suit worth over $500,000, exuded a powerful and commanding aura as he strode toward them.

"It's Kimber Kim!" a young woman gasped.

Everyone snapped out of their daze and quickly bowed their heads in respect as he approached him.

"Mark, look! It's Kimber Kim!" Karl exclaimed. He and Mark immediately rushed forward and prostrated before the man.

"The king of our city! We are honored to see you, Master!"

Kimber Kim, the owner of Limbed Co., Hess Power Co., and Harriboard Corporation, which were the largest enterprises in the city, stood as the wealthiest and most feared Quadrillionaire in MoperVille.

Politicians bowed to him, and even the government couldn't oppose his will.

He rarely made public appearances, so it was only a few rich people that could ever set their eyes on him. Yet here they were, seeing the Legend on a platter of gold!

Two of his heavily built guards stepped forward, grabbed Mark and Karl by their collars, and tossed them aside like garbage. Kimber Kim raised a hand to signal his guards not to follow him. They bowed and remained behind.

“What’s someone like him doing here?” Mark muttered as he got to his feet.

“Maybe giving out charity?” Karl whispered.

“Gosh, even his glare is terrifying.”

“Same here. Or maybe he’s here to sue the orphanage?”

Felix stood quietly in the background, amazed by the reverence the man received. People like this actually existed?

Kimber Kim strolled up to Granny Emma and took a moment to scan the orphanage grounds.

Just as he was about to speak, his eyes fell on the necklace hanging around Felix’s bowed neck.

He narrowed his eyes.

Could it be…?

“Young man,” he said, his deep, gravelly voice rumbling through the air like thunder. Felix froze as chills crept down his spine.

He looked up slowly, heart pounding against his chest.

“Follow me.”

Felix blinked in disbelief when he saw that he was staring directly at him. Was he talking to him?

Without a word, Felix nodded and followed him into an empty room.

Back outside, Mark and Karl stared, mouths agape.

“Why would Kimber Kim talk to Felix? What did the pathetic houseboy get himself into?” Karl creased his brows in shock.

“Maybe the king wants to give the bastard some dollar bills for pity’s sake,” Mark snorted. “Look at his worn-out shoes and raggedy clothes.”

They burst into laughter.

Granny Emma, however, made the sign of the cross and whispered, “Dear Lord, help him.”

---

Inside the room, Felix stood perplexed as Kimber Kim stared at the necklace, his eyes misty, almost on the verge of tears.

“Uh… sir?” Felix asked, noticing his stare.

“I’ve finally set my eyes on you… Son.”

“Huh?” Felix’s eyes widened. He was sure he misheard.

“Son,” Kimber Kim repeated gently.

Felix blinked, baffled. “Wait... what? Son? I don’t even have parents...?”

“Son, please forgive me,” Kimber Kim said, his voice heavy with regret. “What I did was to protect you. So many people were after your life. If they had known you were alive, you wouldn’t have made it past childhood. I had no choice but to put you up for adoption.”

Felix was still so confused even after he listened to Kimber Kim. He noticed it and then came closer to Felix.

He took a small magnet from his pocket and brought it near the necklace. With a faint click, the locket unlocked.

Felix’s heart sank.

Kimber Kim opened the pendant and showed him the photo inside; a younger version of himself with Kimber Kim, smiling together.

Then, the old man reached into his jacket and produced the matching half of the locket.

Felix stared, stunned. The pieces fit perfectly. He was convinced that this was his father.

“Do you understand now?” Kimber Kim asked.

But Felix was no longer listening.

His head throbbed. Sweat beaded on his forehead. All he could see was blurry as flashes of memories flooded through his head.

“Arrghhh!” he clutched his head and stumbled.

“Son—!” Kimber Kim rushed forward.

Felix opened his eyes and met his gaze. Yes. He was the man in his fragmented memories. His protector. His father.

“Look, son, I’ll explain everything,” Kimber Kim said softly. He slipped a card into Felix’s hand. “Meet me at this address. I’ll tell you everything when the time is right.”

Felix looked at the card. The words 'Quiltore Hex Hotel' were boldly written on it.

His jaw dropped. The top-rated, ten-star hotel in the city?

‘Is my dad really that rich?’

Without another word, Kimber Kim turned and left with his guards.

---

Felix went home that day as he laid down on the bed and thoughts of his father ran into his mind.

So many questions. So much confusion.

Eventually, sleep took him.

---

The next morning, Kate Carlos stormed into the house with grocery bags in hand. The place was a mess.

“Where on this planet is that idiot?” she snapped, stomping toward Felix’s room.

She burst in and found him lying there like he didn’t have a care in the world.

“Holy cow,” she muttered. “What do I do with a useless thing like him?”

She marched over and shook his body.

“Hey! Wake up! You’ve got a whole house to clean, and you’re in here snoozing?”

Felix stirred slowly. He blinked up at her angry face, still groggy, before sitting up—

SMACK!

She slapped him hard across the face.

He clenched his jaw, biting his lip to hold back his reaction.

“You douchebag! You dare sleep when the house is still filthy? What have you been doing all day?”

“I stood to his feet, "I was busy all day." His tone was flat and without remorse.

“Really? Busy with what? Scratching your butt?” Kate barked. “By the time I get back, this whole place better be spotless. You hear me?!”

"Yes." He continued his stoic expression.

She stared at him in surprise. He didn’t flinch or cower. He didn’t even look remorseful. She didn't expect such attitude from him at all. That wasn’t the Felix she knew.

The normal Felix will freak out and bow to her when she yelled but now...

She narrowed her eyes suspiciously, then stormed out.

---

Felix cleaned the house and took care of the baby as usual. By evening, he stepped into the shower, just as the baby began crying.

In another room, Meq was laughing and chatting with Fred on the phone.

But the baby’s wailing cut through her fun.

“Ugh,” she groaned, ending the call. “Hey, baby, I’ll call you back. Gotta deal with him.”

“I bet it’s your houseboy of a husband again,” Fred said.

Meq rolled her eyes. “Definitely, hon. I’ll call later.”

She hung up and yelled, “Felix! Felix!!”

There was still no answer.

“You bastard! Can’t you hear the baby crying?!”

She was already getting frustrated.

  • 213: I own your eyes now

The sound of Mark’s laughter echoed across the warehouse, bouncing off the cracked walls like a nightmare that refused to die. Felix stood in place, every muscle in his body ready. Jake’s hand twitched near his gun. The others spread out, forming a loose semicircle around Mark. Something was off about Mark. He definitely wasn't the same spoilt brat he knew months ago. “Been a long time, Felix,” Mark stepped closer. “Ahhh...Who would have guessed that the Carlos' houseboy was the son of the quadrillionaire? I was so stupid to not have noticed.” Felix’s eyes darkened, clenching his fists. He didn’t like getting reminded of that. “You haven’t changed at all.” “Oh, I have.” Mark tilted his head. “You just don’t like what I’ve become.” “You mean a stalker?” Jake growled. Mark smirked. “Big words from the guard dog.” Jake’s jaw flexed, but Felix lifted a hand slightly, stopping him. Mark chuckled, his gaze sliding back to Felix. “You know, I still remember the orphanage whe

Shadow straightened. “That’s him?” Jake didn’t blink. “It’s him.” Xander leaned forward. “You sure?” Jake nodded. “Positive. I’ve seen this bastard too many times in the footage. Same height. Same wrist mark.” The Reaper tilted his head slightly. “Where was this taken?” Jake’s fingers flew again. “EastValley city, near an old warehouse district. The cameras caught him three nights in a row, between midnight and two a.m.” “Pattern,” Shadow said simply. “Yeah,” Jake breathed. “He’s staying somewhere near there. Maybe an apartment, maybe a hideout.” The room went quiet for a second. Only the whir of the computers filled the air. Then Silas spoke. “We’ll move tonight.” Shadow hesitated. “We don’t even know what’s inside that warehouse—” Reaper gave him a cold look. “We’ll find out.” Xander cracked his knuckles, a grin flickering across his face. “It’s been a while since we stretched our legs.” Phantom looked up from his earpiece. “Already scanning the area.
