8. Poor Waiter!

Although Brian didn't know Diana's intention in saying that, he didn't want to think about it.

The most important thing for him was to drag Edward away from there. Without saying a word to Diana, Brian then left that floor.

Brian chose an empty classroom that had never been used and pushed Edward inside and closed it from the inside.

"You ... do you really want to die, Jones?" Edward was very angry.

Brian only gave Edward a quick glance. "Tell me now! Did you run over my grandfather on purpose that night?"

Hearing that question, Edward instantly froze where he stood.

"Why are you bringing up something that happened a long time ago?"

Brian replied irritably, "It only happened a few days ago. Not long ago, Edward Stein."

Edward clucked his tongue. "Uh, damn you. Why should I answer that?"

Casually, Edward took a step towards the door but Brian stopped him. He stood right in front of the door.

"Damn it. Get out of the way! I'm going out, you bastard!"

"You'll never get out until you tell me what happened that night."

Edward gritted his teeth.

"Whether I tell you or not. Your grandfather is still dead, right? So what's the point, isn't it useless?"

This time Brian's patience was wearing thin.

A punch landed on Edward's right jaw.

Edward staggered backwards. "You ... want to go to the holding cell again, Jones?"

"I'm ready to go to the holding cell. So tell me now. Everything!" Brian commanded.

Edward was silent but when Brian raised his hand again, he quickly said, "Okay, I'll tell you."

Brian was reluctant to hit Edward.

"That night, I just wanted to teach you a lesson. I asked my driver to hit you, not your grandfather. But, I didn't intend to kill you either."

Brian remained silent, waiting for Edward's explanation to continue.

"My car's brakes suddenly failed so it was an accident. My driver didn't do it on purpose."

Edward swallowed nervously as Brian stared at him with a look as if he wanted to chop him up.

In the next second, Brian punched Edward several times in the stomach before finally leaving the room with a gasp.

He rushed for air to keep his chest from tightening.

"Young Master."

Brian suddenly turned his head.

"Do you have a problem?" A young man who looked like a student asked him.

Brian frowned.

"I was sent by Mr. Joe, Young Master."

Uh, Brian understood.

"Go on, I'm fine."

The young man nodded. "I'll still be around, if you need me."

Brian only replied with a short, "Okay."

There was no way Brian could protest what Joe Maiden had done. Maybe that was his way of protecting him.

After that incident, Brian went back to his daily routine on campus, including being a waiter in the canteen.

Nothing had changed. Some people still treated him so badly like trash.

However, for now he didn't mind that. His head was now filled with all the possibilities that could happen after he completely controlled his grandfather's company to the point that he accidentally spilled a student's water.

"You incompetent bastard!" cursed a male student.

"If you can't do it right, why are you here as a waiter?" A female student helped her friend pick up a tissue.

"Stop, Aline!" He prevented Aline from cleaning it.

The man named Rayn turned to Brian, "Why are you still acting like a fool?"

Brian, who was daydreaming, replied, "Yeah?"

Rayn laughed in annoyance and kicked the table that was partially wet with water.

"Look at this!" Rayn pointed at the table lazily.

"Clean it up quickly!" Rayn ordered.

An awake Brian immediately grabbed a cloth to clean it up. However, Rayn deliberately picked up the burger and fries on the table and dumped them on the floor.

"Clean that up too!" Rayn stared with a mocking smile.

His brow furrowed suddenly, "Wow. You're glaring at me?"

Rayn stood up while Brian was still clearing the table, not wanting to respond. However, since Brian was ignoring him, Rayn was furious.

"Poor waiter, you dare ignore me? Or do you have a problem with your ears?"

Brian still didn't want to respond and continued to clear the table.

"Damn it, who do you think you are, huh?" Rayn cursed and pushed Brian until the young man fell down.

People started laughing at him.

Aline narrowed her eyes, "Ignorant waitress. You can earn money from worshipping us, right? Shouldn't you be polite and obedient to the people who give you money, huh?"

Rayn laughed mockingly, "Then don't play deaf. Hurry up and clean it up!"

At first, Brian wanted to leave it at that. However, Rayn didn't seem to know that he was getting lucky and woke up the sleeping lion instead.

Immediately, Brian threw away the cleaning tools he was using and approached Rayn who was staring at him with a surprised look.

Brian tugged on Rayn's shirt collar.

"What are you doing? Get your filthy hands off me!" Rayn widened his eyes in anger.

Aline squealed in shock, "Get off Rayn! You bastard waiter!"

Brian still didn't let go and instead tightened his grip around Rayn's neck.

"The table was my fault. But the floor, that's your own doing. Why do I have to clean it?"

While trying to break away from Brian, Rayn replied, "It's the waiter's job. Why are you still asking?"

Brian nodded. "You're right. But, customers also have an obligation to keep this place clean. Don't you know that?"

Rayn didn't reply to Brian's words and instead kicked Brian's leg.

Unfortunately, Brian managed to dodge.

Not wanting to waste any more time, Brian immediately ran to get a mop and other cleaning tools and handed them to Rayn.

"What do you mean?" Rayn glared in shock.

"You got it dirty, you have to clean it up."

"What? Are you crazy? Do you think I'm willing to do maid duty?"

Brian replied casually, "If you don't want to do it, the CCTV footage of what happened earlier will get out. How about it? Do you want it or not?"
